Recently refurbished but retaining its traditional charm, The Grand Hotel's low rise blocks occupy a prime location in the heart of Hurghada's modern resort district. A great value introduction to Red Sea Hotels, its stunning gardens and sweeping sandy beach with on-site dive centre make it a favourite with guests. Close to a wide array of bars, restaurants and shops, it is an ideal base from which to explore.

We had a weeks stay here from 13 October. We created by at the door where our cases were taken into the hotel reception. We were provided with the information about the hotel and we were shown to our Junior Suite with pool access. The room was spacious with everything needed including a sofa and large flat screen TV. The super king bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was served in the main restaurant and wow what a variety of food, something for everybody. Unfortunately our room turned out to be on the shady side of hotel but as soon as we spoke with reception we were shown to another room with full sun, no questions asked. They even took our suitcases once we had repacked. Whilst enjoying time outside our room we were supplied with drinks by Muhammad Harhash from service who works in the swimming pool area of the hotel, we affectionately called him H, always had a smile on his face, even though there was a language barrier we all managed. All the restaurant staff including the Indochinese (spring rolls were incredible) Italian and worldwide were so attentive. The hotel was spotless, our room 4129 was looked after by Ahmed who on many occasions made animals out of the towels on our bed. The staff work tirelessly for 12hrs plus everyday so tips were a must and appreciated. We booked our holiday with Red Sea Holidays and will definitely return and will include a Nile cruise next time. Keep up the great work

I do not recommend. Horrible, ugly, dirty room. Air conditioning as loud as a tractor. The TV didn't work. Dirty fridge. I'm afraid to take a shower in the bathroom because everything is dirty. The bedding was dirty and smelly, used by someone else - after the intervention at the reception, it was only changed to washed ones. The sheets are old, gray and with stains - maybe 20 years old. There were some strange noises on the balcony at night. Only instant coffee available. The trip was a nightmare.

Very enjoyable stay😊😊 It was our first visit in Egypt and we hope to go back to the Grand Hotel one day.  We stayed two weeks and everything was PERFECT for us. This is the hotel where you feel like coming home from your first steps in the reception and this feeling leads you through all of the stay. Special thanks to Mr. Sherif O. who was waving and smiled to us every time we passed👋👋😊 THANK YOU for your care of us 😊😊. ALL of the staff is wonderful and helpful. Greetings to all👋👋. But special thanks to one barman from the lobby - Seyed (sorry for misspelling your name). Everyone works very hard to make your stay enjoyable. Beach of the hotel is very nice, clean and wide (normal entrance to the sea) and very safe thanks to the lifeguards. Greeting for Ismail who found my lost cap and was always ready to help and give advise😊 We liked the food very much.  Everyone will find something for himself. Our room was big and clean with very nice view (again special thanks to Mr. Sherif 😊😊). We would definitely recommend a stay at this lovely and cozy hotel. Radek i Sylwia from Poland

If you've ever been to Egypt you already know that 5* is really a 4* and 4* really a 3*. On this basis we weren't shocked to find this is NOT 4*. However this was a cheap last minute booking for some sunshine. We arrived very late (2.30am) and were told we had been upgraded to a superior room. As it was late we didn't pay much attention until the next morning. Room was a good size but extremely dated and bathroom was a little mouldy. Next on to the shower. It was unbelievably bad. There was almost no pressure whatsoever, again to be expected, but not to the point the taps in the sink were releasing more water. I also spotted 3 cleaners cleaning a lamppost outside. When your rooms are this dated, when the bathrooms are gross, I would assume the management use a little common sense and use 3 cleaners to fix this, but no, 1 to clean the lamppost, one to hold the ladder and a third to stand there and chat. This was frustrating. Food was interesting, they have a lot of fresh herbs and spices but don't know how to use them in basic dishes. Also needed to add a lot of salt to get taste out of anything. Lastly if you are looking for a quiet beach to relax, this won't provide. Within 5 minutes of sitting on a sunbed, you are bombarded with locals selling excursions (this is the hotel beach). We counted one day within 15 minutes we had turned away 12 people. It was relentless and after a while its easy to lose your cool as the same people come back to you every day. The hotel should do more to tackle this as after 3 days we avoided the beach altogether which was a shame. On the positive side we expected this in egypt as we have visited previously, so didnt let any of it ruin our trip. The majority of staff were great, the doorman (calls himself ali baba), the lady at breakfast that cooked our eggs every morning, the main pool bar staff and some (not all) waiting staff. Overall we needed a week break, it delivered, but don't expect a clean 4* hotel as this is not it.

The stuff friendly, food ok but drinks bad, especially white wine mixed with water and red wine not available at all. ( except x-mas evening). They offer for all inclusive guests to buy better drinks. All in very poor offer. Rooms ok, volleyball on the beach excellent. Beach ok.
