Nestled close to attractions and a stunning beachfront, Ali Baba Palace is celebrated for its prime location. Guests have called out the hotel for its vibrant atmosphere, thanks to lively evening entertainment and an energetic entertainment team. The rooms, particularly the deluxe ones, receive praise for their cleanliness and space, although there's a suggestion that standard rooms could use an update. While some guests find the amenities and services to be a great value, others advise being mindful of extra costs. Opinions on the service quality, however, range from excellent to disappointing, highlighting an inconsistency in guest experiences.

Sorry for the long review but this hotel deserves it! We came to this hotel by chance after our Thomas Cook holiday was cancelled ... and I am so glad we did!
We had a standard (non upgraded) room and it was huge with a lovely balcony. We were down towards the beach just past the end of the pool so was lovely and quiet. The room was spotless, with bedding changed regularly and towels changed every day. Bathroom again was clean and we never had any issues with hot water unlike hotels we have stayed in before where if you didn't shower early in the evening the hot water ran out!
The staff are very helpful and we found if we were nice to them they couldn't do enough for us. The lobby bar in the night is busy but the staff were so friendly, quickly remembering what you drink and bringing refills as they saw you getting to the end of your drink. Hossam who worked in the bar was the star of our holiday, making us cocktails from the standard all inclusive menu each day ... we looked forward to trying "Hossams Special" each night. All the staff here work incredibly hard, they don't stop all day and are a credit to the managers at the hotel.
We were 2 couples and we all commented that we have never been in such a clean hotel! Every single toilet on the resort was spotless with an attendant around all day cleaning. You normally find toilets by the pool and beach are sandy and wet but here they were spotless and cleaned almost constantly. We went on a trip to Cairo leaving the hotel at 2.10am and they were still cleaning at that time.
The food was hot, tasty and plentiful with something for everyone at each mealtime. Lunch in the beach restaurant was fab and you could see them cooking it during the morning so knew the kitchen was clean. We found something we liked every mealtime, even my super fussy hubby enjoyed the food! can be a bit samey after 2 weeks but that is the same most places.
The beach was lovely and you can use the Ali Baba beach or the sister hotels. It's not sandy in the sea at Ali Baba and you need water shoes as rocky underfoot in water but snorkelling is brilliant (the fish love a bit of banana). The beach in Jasmine is sandy and perfect for those with children who want to build sandcastles and paddle. Snorkelling is good, Ali Baba for fish and Jasmine to see the shipwreck!
We didn't bother much with entertainment or games in the day but the team still stopped and chatted to us and the evening shows all seemed good.
We read reviews before going about rude guests from other countries and British people feeling unwelcome but we didn't experience this.
We would go back again in an instant, thank you "Team Ali Baba" for a brilliant holiday!

Had the best time ever at this hotel. The staff were very friendly. Had a lovely pool and beach area. The food was amazing and waiter service was out of this world. The cleaners were very friendly and made sure you had your beds and towels changed daily. Guest relations lady helped us to rebook flights to stay longer as we had such a great time. Met some lovely ppl here. We are preparing to go back again around May. This hotel is a must to visit great for families. Will definitely be our holiday destination in the future. Alex the entertainment guy was amazing and my granddaughter loved going to the kids club. The hotel wasn't running at it's full potential due to covid but we still had the best time ever. Thanks to all the staff who looked after us. You are all amazing and do such a wonderful job. Look forward to seeing you all again. Love from Ashley Nicola Stephanie Marneigh Charlie and of course Ayeisha. We miss you all.

Hotel is nice and clean, kids like the water park just a shame it closes in the middle of the day.
Food was fine, edible but repetitive.
Mosquitoes were a pain, literally. They don’t fog in the evenings so make sure you take repellent. We bought it there but didn’t t really help.
Room was ok, old style and could do with a good revamp. Cleaner was horrendous, would constantly pester us for tips as soon as we were in the room. He would knock up to 5 times then eventually use his key and walk in. He would make an excuse that he forgot to give us a towel so he could knock etc. on the last day it was constant harassment from him and I couldn’t wait to leave. He let himself in the room as we were walking out the back patio door with our bags, he gave us no chance to check over the room as he was constantly there. All the cleaners would keep a look out for who was returning to their rooms and they would let the relevant cleaner know so within minutes they would be knocking. Go out the front and he’s there go out the patio doors and he would shoot round the back!
Also the man selling the sand in bottles would harass you every time you walk past! They just won’t take no for a answer.
Also lots of the staff want to change their coin tips for notes but want more than they are worth. ie euro and pound coins for notes.
Wi-Fi is terrible.
Kids club was ok but I left my child once and within half an hour she had left on her own without them knowing and she found me at the pool. Not good when she’s only 5. Luckily she knew where to find me but dread to think what would of happened if I wasn’t there.
Entertainment was good, had no idea when things were on though as they didn’t seem to stick to the schedule. Watched a few evening shows which were fine, always starts with kids disco.
Weather was great, but definitely will not be returning to this hotel!

Absolutely terrible hotel. First of all, when you enter the reception staff is harassing you so that they can get extra money of you or manipulate and give you a wrong which was not the one you originally booked. They tried every single way with us, but unfortunately did not work out. Absolutely not professional not even to say that they make your stay even worse from the moment you enter the hotel. Especially there is a receptionist with glasses, avoid him if you do not want to be ripped off for nothing.

Food is terrible, all three restaurants have the same. Near each restaurant there are like security guards watching you every moment and makes you feel absolutely uncomfortable. If you try to move with plate between restaurants you will have like 5 guys standing in front of you questioning where are you going. Even the one which outside by the pool, same story. You feel like you are controlled and watched the whole time. Variety of food is absolutely poor. They do not even give bottled water which I have never seen in Hurghada, there is always water around. If you want you can buy a bottle for 1 EUR. In the room you get 2 bottles of water per person and do not even dare to ask for more.

Cleaning service do not even want to say without swearing.. On the first day the cleaner put all the rubbish from the table into the drawer! I suppose this a new way of saying to leave money. Absolutely disgusting.

All the staff is rude and treating you terribly. Rooms are so old, no shampoo or conditioner in the rooms. Beware not to get stuck in the balcony because if you close the door, then there is no way back, so you might end up spending a night in the balcony if there is no one to open it for you.

If you have a choice avoid this hotel please.

Myself & partner have just returned from a week at the Ali Baba. Usually I return home with the holiday blues but I really could not wait for the bus to pull off when collected.

On arrival we were greeted but a receptionist who abruptly just sneered passport & sit. After a very long day of travelling initially we thought we may had read it wrong.

When given our room key we we’re walked to our room, as the door opened all you could smell was a musty almost damp smell & noticed we had two very small almost child like beds & had booked a double room with the documentation to prove it with us also.

We went to the reception & spoke to the same receptionist who booked us in who again abruptly told us that’s our room if we want to move it’s $150 to upgrade or come back in the morning & we might have a double for you.

At this point we just looked at each other & said let’s sort it tomorrow. We went across to the only restaurant opens to see we had 5 minutes to get & eat food & everything was stone cold. We just thought maybe it’s as there closing & got a drink & went to bed.

The unfortunate began the following day every meal time for three days was the exact same food served cold including fish prawns & rice which are massively high risk and apparently suppose to be hot, even the food coming direct from the kitchen to the service stations was either under cooked or cold.

In the evenings you could tell the food had simply been regenerated & after speaking to the executive chef he confirmed food was regenerated on a regular basis.
the customer service was terrible & it appeared the staff we’re annoyed they we’re

Dear Mr. Neil and Mrs. Vanessa, First of all, thank you for taking the time to review our hotel. Let us clarify some points that perhaps created a double impression about the hotel. Room / amenities: we accommodate all our guests as soon as possible and according their booking and voucher, in case if guests are not satisfied with their room we can offer them room change for free upon availability. If guests wish to upgrade their room category we always inform them that it has an extra charge. Late dinner for late arrivals: kindly be informed that late dinner (open buffet) is available from 9 to 10 pm. From 10 pm till 12 midnight we have snack bar (salad bar, sandwiches, cheese and cold cut, pastry). Food: we regret that variety of our food did not meet your personal taste. We have 3 all-inclusive restaurants (International, Italian, Oriental cuisine), beach restaurant (international cuisine) and pool bar with snacks. Each outlet has 2 week menu with non-repeated items. Beside of it we have ala carte restaurant with Asian cuisine (Indian, Chinese, Sushi) and pool BBQ. All food is prepared by international standards. We have quality control department for daily monitoring and controlling quality and safety of food and beverages; there are no deviations in the quality of food. Food / cutlery refill takes no longer than 1 minute, we have restaurant supervisor who are on their duties at all time. Also, to solve any questions or problems on spot, we have restaurant managers who are always there and ready to help. As guests’ satisfaction is our priority at all times we have regular hospitality training for all team. We always advise for all our guests to contact our Guest Relation Department where you will be offered different options to be able to solve all inconveniences and enjoy your holiday. Unfortunately you have informed us about your inconveniences just on the last day of your vacation. We always welcome constructive feedback from our guests, please be sure that we have transferred it to the departments involved. Best Regards, Hotel Management.

Please becareful when booking this hotel, we have been a few times in the past and never had any issues but we went in November after speaking direct to hotel and asking if pools were heated to which they said all pools heated including aqua park which was a big lie just to get you out there then they apologise and say they made a mistake. Also had several things go missing from our room but they choose to do nothing about it and make you look stupid.
I think this hotel has been taken over by new management as its not the same as it used to be. We tried leaving the hotel a week early because the pools were too cold to use which is quite common that time of Yr in egypt hence we checked with hotel before we booked the hotel but they lied saying all pools heated when in fact none were. They tried to keep us like prisoners in the hotel as they wouldn't let us go because they said we booked 2 weeks not 1.
When we tried to explain that we booked an early flight as we didn't want to stay at a hotel that has no care for guests except care to take your money they then ramped up the pressure to keep us at the hotel.
My wife and 2 yr old were quite scared by this point as they wouldn't allow us to leave and everytime we tried to call taxi they would intervine and tell the taxi to go. It took nearly an hour trying to get out of this awful hotel and into the safety of a local driver who managed to get us away from the hotel.
I would do your research before picking this hotel as there are alot more better hotels like Titanic beach/palace or jungle aqua park.
The food is also very limited at the moment due to covid and they were constantly running out of food items and drinks. Took 3 days before we could get cold milk for a cup of tea.
Most nites we would walk up to senzo for mcdonalds or Kfc which was a life saver. Love Egypt Love Hurghada but definitely would never recommend nor go back to Ali baba. They are also using Jasmime hotel direct next door for anyone who test positive for covid. There is no place to snorkel at Ali baba that is nice like other hotels and would recommend the day trip snorkeling. Bar staff at Ali baba are very nice and polite which is the only positive. When we got home we showed our travel company proof that the hotel said their pools would be heated when we was there and also when we complained at the hotel they put a slip of paper under our door which said sorry but the pools are not heated til end of November which clearly showed they lied to us just to get our money as they know once you are there its hard to get anything done as they then pretend not to understand or talk a word of English. The hotel now say that the pools were heated even though I had proof they wasn't. I just think it was a big scam to get people out there as covid the numbers are low

We stayed with my in for a longer period of time. Food is awful, no variety at all. Does not taste at all. When a child ice for more than 5 grams of the ice cream they are scared because “manager” is watching. Absolutely disgusting. Bar tenders can only give you unlimited vodka, but if you do not drink alcohol and do not too up their personal pockets with cash then you won’t get anything easily. Food is served cold too. Cleaner is going through the rooms in the morning during breakfast time without even his trolly when everyone is at breakfast. I had few towel cards disappearing and if you ask reception they tell you to pay. When you go there just be cautious with your personal belongings. Beach was ok. Pool more or less ok.

This hotel is not for English.

The staff however are absolutely fantastic I couldn’t fault them they went above and beyond to me sure we had a lovely stay even the management team the management team, waiters and Wanda was fantastic everything we needed they did the best to help. So we thank you for your help.

The cleaning staff could be quiet rude! The place was spotless but asking you to stand while eating to clean under your seat was quiet a eye opener I’ve never had before, they need to realise the customer should come first. You could be busting for the toilet and they will make you wait while they clean it.

The rooms are okay but for the price we paid we excepted better but this was a fault from the travel agent we used and the hotel wanted extra money for the room which we had already paid to upgrade. So it wasn’t the best start to our holiday.

The water park is fantastic and the staff are very nice. A little run down and in need of a upgrade but didn’t spoil our stay.

The beer is very limited I found this the hardest part of the holiday only vodka, rum, whisky, beer none of which i normally drink so that was a big disappointment and no one informed us you only have 48hrs to use the duty free after landing.

The animation team was the worst for me by far, they need replacing there so boring and lacked any life in them, I saw them rudely pushing children, I think they have got very complacent in the job and do little sporadically.
We wanted to go to the foam party and was informed both times even though on the notice board it said TUESDAY they decided to change it to Friday both times and not change it on the notice board for anyone to know. I think it was because less who knew less they had to do.
In fact all the information on the notice board was wrong but apparently talking to blacky none of it was there fault management just decided to change it day before and no one was prepared to do anything about it.
A few poor aqua aerobic now and again seemed to be sufficient with very vile English language in the music my children understood I was appalled as this is played on repeat every day.
The kids club is not really for any age it’s poor with nothing to do as a childminder I could of entertained the children better myself so my children didn’t go.
We went to the mini disco twice as it was for 30 mins and totally crap. Why they need 5 of them to do that job is beyond me as they all just seem to stand around looking unhappy!

Special thanks to the waiter in sesame and the tapenyaki chef these two was so lovely and made us smile every time we saw them. The pool chef was also so lovely and always looked after us well.

I wouldn’t return to this hotel simply due to the animation staff. If there was a proper program for the children and staff with a little motivation I think the holiday could of felt very different.

Dear Sonya, At the beginning, I would like to thank you for taking the time to express your opinion about our hotel. We would like to thank you for appreciating the Guest Relation and Management work. We are very glad to read your nice words about the Sesame restaurant service, Poll and Aqua Park staff as well, it is very kind of you and we will pass your words to each of them. We would like to apologize to you for the disappointment with the animation team program, but we are sure that these changes resulted from adjusting the program to the Christmas time. It was this special time prepared for the Christmas celebration and prepared for the New Year, when the animation group had a very tight schedule of work and rehearsals for performances. I assure you and as can be seen in the reviews on all our social media and pages with opinions that our guests are very satisfied with the entertainment program and team. I would also like to assure you that all guests are treated equally in our hotel. The management and the training group pay a lot of attention to this subject on periodic training. We hope you will visit us again to give us a chance to change your opinion. Thank you once again for your kindness and good words about our service of restaurants, swimming pools, Aqua Park, guest center and management. We appreciate all your feedback and forward it to the appropriate departments to improve our service. Kind regards, Management of Ali Baba Palace

Nice, clean sandy beach. Rooms are very old in poor condition. We had two weeks same food, same dishes. Staff very nice and kind. If you will not left $tip one day then your room will not be cleaned at the next day. Came back little bit disappointed.

Just got back from what we hoped for was a lovely long awaited break .
The room itself was in a brilliant position and the pools were lovely. One small heated pool and all the rest were empty . Not sure how many people this hotel catered for but the heated pool was not big enough.
Most places go around in the evening with smoke to help control the mosquitoes. This hotel doesn’t.
I was bitten alive and felt quite poorly on the 3rd day . The repellents didn’t work ,
Food was disappointing as it seemed to be the same every day.( Omelettes were lovely at the pool bar. )
I have been going to many all inclusive holidays over the years and I think this for food variety was poor .
Tips are a must or you won’t get anything I’m afraid.
The cleaning guy was a nightmare pestering you and as I didn’t leave a tip the first day I can only assume that’s why I didn’t get coffee and teabags.
When I gave him a tip they arrived..
As soon as you go back to your room banging on the door asking if room is cleaned ok . As I entered one day through the patio I heard a cleaner above shouting and before I even got to the toilet he was banging on the door. The next minute he opened the door and asked if everything was okay!
The staff asking to change coins they had been given for notes . They thought they were doing us a favour but in fact it’s us as they cannot exchange coins . They will argue and tell you that they are worth more .
I just said no in the end ..
I paid for a pedicure which was £25 which is the price then they asked for a tip .
The pool staff /bar were great and very helpful.
I ended up eating here all the time.
Don’t leave your children in the kid’s place. My granddaughter left and they had not realised..
This hotel could be brilliant with some modernisation and better variations in the food .
I used to leave all my shampoos and shower items behind but this time I didn’t as they keep it and want money for it .
One day someone knocked on my door saying could they look at room as they wanted to upgrade and was told I was leaving the next morning..
This was incorrect…
Glad to be home but miss the lovely sunshine. Sorry Ali Baba not the hotel…
