1. Rooms. Even since we arrived and we had a list of rooms that we have wanted to see if were free (the recommendations from Trip Advisor), it was clear that it wasn't going to be that easy to get a good service first and then tip for it, they expected that in advance. None of the rooms I wanted were free apparently but they have given us a decently placed room, halfway from the beach and the restaurant. The first bad sign was that it was dripping from the ceiling but I ignored it, being the first night and just wanting to get a good night sleep before anything else. The comedy started the next morning when I went to the reception at 8 AM asking if we can change the room because of the dripping ceiling and get maybe something closer to the beach for which we were willing to pay extra. We were recommended the superior room, for which we would have to pay extra 15 eur per day. I said OK even if it wasn't, but I wanted to see the room first. The guy recommended me to wait for 10 AM, when the next shift would arrive and they would see which rooms woould free up. At 10 the other guy told me to wait for 2 o'clock and you get the picture afterwards. At 2 the reception was full of new people arriving. In the evening I asked to speak to the manager and he provided us a good option but at that time it was too late for us to move or make a decision as my child was already asleep at the restaurant, I will get to that part later. We weren't fully decided to pack everything again and switch rooms until the next day when we came back from the beach in the evening and found that a pipe broke and the bathroom was flooded. Not from the ceiling, but from the toilet and the water was hot somehow. We called reception to send someone, no one came so I went to reception to speak to the manager. He wasn't even aware of the problem (it was one hour later and the bathroom was meanwhile a sauna, I don't want to think what was happening downstairs) but at least he offered to change our room for free this time. We moved everything ourselves at that hour, luckily it wasn't that late and my child was not asleep yet. They did offered to send someone to help but shrugged when I told them that it was going to take me at least one hour to pack. Nonetheless, we moved everything ourselves. This new room was clearly better, reconditioned here and there. 2. The staff and the service. A culture of tips was clearly in place as some customers were getting service before others that would stay in line because they already knew the bartender or the waiter and so on. We were not offered a good service and then wait for the tip, as I would expect and seem normal, at least in our culture, where we too offer tips, but for a good service and only afterwards. A few examples: I wanted grounded coffee, someone who knew the bartender appeared in front of the line and he dissapeared with her and then came back to make the coffee for the rest of us. Another time we were waiting in line at the bar and the bartender made two Mojitos for two guys, made them a house cocktail afterwards followed by soft drinks to cool down and another two Mojitos before moving to the rest of us that waited for a good 20 minutes for this to happen. Of course that afterwards everyone in line was ordering at least 3 drinks, as much that they could carry and that lead to additional waiting times. 3. The restaurants. I am not a foody so I can't comment on the quality of the food, but it didn't seem that good. I will comment on the service though. The second night we went to the mongolian restaurant that seemed to be a good option after the first night when the food was at best tasteless but it filled our belly at least. We were there at 6.02 PM when the restaurant opened at 6 so we were the second table to arrive. First they filled the restaurant with people and then they came back for the drinks order. We were between the last to be asked what to drink after I said something. Then the gas wasn't working and it was going to take at least 30 minute to be fixed. Ok, we sat down and waited and at some point almost everyone stood up and left, I thought. No, the food was coming and you were supposed to sit in line to pick what to want to have prepared. Of course no one told us that. Ok, we were maybe the last in line, we picked our food in the next 30 minutes and we sat with the uncooked food on our table until the waiter came and took it. That took another half an hour or so and asking someone about it. Then we have waited and waited for our food to arrive. People were finishing up, new people were arriving and what was the last straw for me was that the same customer that went in front of the line at the bar did the same thing here, put her food in front of everyone else's waiting to be cooked. I confronted the waiter and told him that it was already 1.30h since we arrived and our food is not ready yet, he looked at his notebook and told us that it shows there that we already were served. By this time, my child was sleeping in his mother's arms, luckily we managed to get some food from the other restaurant while we were waiting and got him to eat something before he fell asleep. 4. The pool and the beach. The location is great and the beach is also very nice, not too much to do about the tide though, that leaves the beach without water most of the day. The only downside I can find is the persistent smell of oil and gasoline and the fact that I carried out myself two cans of gas (they were 10L water cans but oily and smell of gasoline) for which the staff thanked me that I brought from the water but they were not going to do anything about it as they were sitting there in the water 50 meters from the shore for at least two hours. Then I went snorkelling and left my sunglasses in the mask pouch on the boardwalk in a special wooden bucked, aside from everything else. Luckily I only swimmed for 5 minutes before my camera memory card was full, because when I went to get my sunglasses back, they weren't there anymore. There were a couple of tourists there and an employee, I asked them if they saw anything and said no but one of them was acting suspicious (defensive, offered to show me his bag himself) and I kindly asked the tourists to let me search their bags, maybe they took them by mistake. I found them in the bag of the tourist that was speaking arabic,  because then he discussed with the employee, he told that it must have been by mistake, but I wasn't willing to listen. All I cared was getting my stuff back. I didn't even noticed if he weared a braceled from the hotel or not, it seemed that he was not, but he was there with his family. Unfortunately that was not a singular incident, because once I got back to the pool, one of the towels that I left on the chaise long was missing and the staff was shrugging. They told me at 3PM to wait until 5PM when everyone leaves maybe I can find my towel then and then recommended me to take a towel from another customer, which I refused. I asked around and the same thing happened to another Russian customers one day before and they said they solved it with reception. I went down to reception and they recommended me to wait for the next day to see if they find an additional towel with the Towel Center otherwise I would have to pay 10 EUR for it. Next day reception send me to the towel center where mr. Ashraf didn't even let me finish my sentence before telling me that they have no additional towels and it is not his problem. I said that I am going back to reception to speak to management about it, I asked him to listen to my full story before making up his mind and eventually he made the "exception" of giving me another towel that I would have to bring back at the end of the day if I find mine (which of course was impossible, whoever took it used it to reserve more chairs and weren't willing to give it up). 5. The gym and ammenities in general. The good thing was that the gym, being secluded behind the spa, was empty but the equipment quite outdated and not taken care of. There were no towels, you have to bring yours from the room and the water tank had only the hot water nozzle working but they fixed it as they unplugged it :). There were no tissues until I asked the staff as they were coming to get drinking water from the same gym tank which tells me that the management is not taking good care of them. Mosquitos were present at all times, we saw once sprayed a substance that smelled like diesel fuel but it didn't seem to hurt them. You can buy individual bottles at 5 eur a piece and they can do the work if you use the regularly. 6. Wi-Fi signal is poor in most parts of the hotel. In the first room we barely got some  in the second one I got full bars but no throughput. It's a matter of luck, I think that close to the kids pool or the main lobby it works fine. Conclusion: 1. The price and the people it attracts. I was intrigued by the low price it had for a four star hotel and even more intrigued that the price went even lower two days later when I searched it (as opposed to airline tickets), but I understood whilst I was here why. Maybe people that are looking for deals are willing to let aside these little downsides and pay in tips for a good customer treatment. But tourists willing to steal from each other even to adapt is something I have not seen so far. Most tourists were Russian and German and nice, hard working people, I would not believe this about any of them but then it happened. In the morning some people wake up early just to block chaize longs in the best location for the full day but this is something you have to adapt to as well as it speaks to the education of the people that do it, not for the staff. Maybe it should not be allowed but it is hard to enforce it. Some people were rude even at breakfast, taking a lot of space, food to go and very loud (some, very few, Russian mainly) but you can understand that when you see that some customers drink alcohol at breakfast, maybe it should not be served to them at that time, as I saw at other Egyptian hotels and it was a good thing. But the culture of tips brings me to the next point as well. 2. The staff and how they are treated reflects in how they treat the customers and makes them look for tips mainly or better said, force them somehow, trying to show you, the customer, that you can't get anything solved without them. Don't get me wrong, I have tipped myself but only for a good service that was offered to me. I understand working for tips. I have tipped the bellboy, the guy that was cleaning our room for his nice swans that he left on the bed which surprised our child, the guy on the beach that was nice to bring a water shotgun to our boy that he found on the beach and so on. These are random acts of kindness that should come usual to any staff, not forced by a tip paid in advance. It is my fourth time in Egypt and the worst experience by far. I will come back to Egypt but to other better rated hotels. Customer feedback is there for a reason. I gave two stars for the nice people (still) working there in that toxic culture but there is a lot of improvement to be made to be a successful hotel. As they say it, culture eats strategy for breakfast and if you go prepared to tip in advance and willing to jump thru hoops, you might end up having a decent holiday. But for me this is not what a holiday should be about.

Despite difficult and complicated times, Titanic Palace still keeps its good level. Titanic Palace is open again so we decided to stay here again for 14 days. We were afraid that some thing might not work properly but really nothing to complain. Front office manager Mr Mohamed Abass walks daily around the hotel and asks people about their experiences, suggestions or issues. If something isn't as you expected, he will do his best to fix it. During our stay few things improved instantly after some suggestions. All the restaurants and A'la Carte are working and serve the same delicious food as usually. All bars work like in normal times. Even if something is not perfectly fine, Mr Ahmed Farouk keeps an eye on everything and makes his efforts to provide great service. During our stay they came with the idea of a bar on wheels coming to guests and serving drinks at the pool. Food at the main restaurants very good and variable, with various fruits, vegetables and sweets. The barbecue outside works every day and serves few kids of meat and fish. Thanks to Kox, Santos, Irina and Michael you will never get bored. The animation team provides so many activities that you wouldn't even imagine. From different dancing and gymnastic activities, through sport games, to mini disco and daily evening shows which include fakir show and oriental shows. Internet access available almost everywhere and in all the rooms. Not the fastest but sufficient for browsing and mailing. If you need to make video calls or online learning I definitely suggest to buy a Vodafone card in Senzo mall in Vodafone shop where works very helpful Osama. Vodafone signal in Titanic Palace is great and gives you over 130Mb download and over 30Mb upload. You can see my screenshot. Rooms cleaned daily with fresh towels and pool towels delivered to your room. Plenty of sunbeds around the pools so everyone can find a place for themselves. The main pool is heated and is huge so again everyone can find a space to paddle. Aquapark is fully functioning with wave pool and all the slides. The pirate ship for children has very warm water and is open almost until 6pm. The only thing not working is the Crazy River with rafting. I don't say everything is perfect but they perfectly solve any issues and requests. In general it was a great time and we will definitely return here again.

Just got back from 10 days in the Titanic palace. WOW!!! This hotel is amazing!! We arrived as the only english people there and could not have been welcomed more. Check in quick staff polite and friendly. Swim up room great, lovely location. STAFF I will start with restaurant staff, Ahmed amazing welcoming us everyday with a big smile. Lovely Mustafa who works tirelessly cleaning all day around the pool area and restaurant, and doing so with smile he made our day when we saw him. Romani the bar attendant in the lobby, just lovely welcoming me and my husband each day with drinks made from his country, he made my husband a lovely local drink to settle his tummy as he wasnt feeling well one day. MR JAMAICA the animation man. Just fabulous he brings the hotel to life everyday with energy and love, he really makes you want to party and enjoy yourself, he even played some western music that we love as he realised we were the only english there at this point, due to EGYPT only just being taken off of the red list. Ahmed the bar manager and Ahmed the bar attendant just fabulous working really hard and serving with fun and energy, welcoming us with an “alright mate” everyday making us laugh. And lastly the lovely Same, from the pool bar, he made our holiday he is the best advert for the Titanic group, he makes queuing up for s drink great fun, he was polite and friendly and has made us want to return next year, myself and my husband never go back to a hotel twice as we like to try new places, but due to Same we will be back in October next year. This hotel and its staff is amazing. We couldnt have been better welcomed and treated by everyone especially the manager Mr Abuss. THANKYOU TITANIC FOR AN AMAZING HOLIDAY SEE YOU NEXT YEAR

Fantastic view, and working staff there. We had some issues in the room, but receptionists: Paul and Hossam and room-service staff helped to resolve problem. They have given us another room (a better one) so that I was not left disappointed. Local people are fanstacsitc, warm and friendly. Love it. Thanks a lot and good luck with your work at hotel :)
