We were a long time ago, in 2015, but this complex of hotels consisting of 5 hotels, you could use the services in all these five, we lived in "Topaz", then it was another 4*, but the quality of service, food, drinks are high, live music 🎻 in the lobby, saxophone, 🎷, live song performance- respect!, disco! There was also a transfer to the sea!, but! Better walk through all the fivers we also had at our disposal, it's" Golden Five, Diamond, etc., cool and beautiful, Egyptian herons, greenery, flowers, photo locations, everything 👍 ok! The sea... This is a separate art form!!! Chicest reef just off the shore, you can swim for hours 🚿 cool hotel👍🍓

The hotel is fairly new (though there are minor flaws in the rooms but you cant really expect 100% perfection when you go to seaside), the staff was EXCELLENT! Completely changed my previous negative impression from my previous stay in Hurghada. The food was very good and the Golden 5 Club facilities keep you busy so that you do not have to leave the hotel complex if you do not want to. The pool was heated even when the air temp was 30+ and that was very cool - relaxing in the pool was just what I needed. Plus the round shape of the hotel complex give you some level of protection against wind. Given the big number of Russians in Egypt, we were choosing a hotel that would not be interesting for party animals. After all - "all inclusive" system with unlimited free booze is a real challenge for any Russian. Luckily, there were almost no drunk people - but still it could have been better.
Nevertheless, thank you!

THe hotel looks great on the outside and the rooms are indeed huge but that's where the plus points end. The place is plagued with mosquitoes and every night was spent hunting down all the mosquitoes in the room before going to bed. The food in the central buffet area was not great - most of the dishes tasted the same and it looked more like a canteen than a restaurant. We got quite ill from eating the food and the rest of our holiday was pretty much ruined. The so-called a la carte Italian restaurant serves a set menu, and not a la carte food, and it tastes mostly like the food from the central buffet. Most ironically, the Italian didn't serve any wine or coffee. Unbelievable.
Customer service and trying to get repeat customers didn't seem to be high on their agenda. Lots of staff sitting around not doing much...but cutlery, cups, plates, sugar and the basics were always in short supply.
The poolside snack bar served lasagne and rice but didn't allow plates as they said we would break them.
The pool towels were faded and stained, and so were the shower curtains in the bedrooms.
And if you're looking for entertainment, it's all in Russian...and so are most of the guests.
The list goes on.... Not a place we would ever go back to again. It was meant to be a relaxing all-inclusive holiday, but it was more stressful than any holiday I've ever experienced. I was actually glad to be back at work at the end of it all!

I stayed at this Hotel for one week all Inclusive.I couldn't find any faults with absolutely anything. The hotel was spotlessly cleaned including my room.
The food was varied each day ...a great choice to choose from. An abundance of different types of fruit, salads and breads, pastries, cakes etc at each meal. After 8 visits to Egypt the food is better than some of the other hotels I have stayed in.Rafat and Mohamed from The Quick Pick Bar rustled me up a fine lunch each day. The food was on par with some of the finest meals I have had anywhere in the world. Both Mohamed and Rafat are a credit to the hotel.
The private beach is about 10mins walk from the hotel, but there is a free shuttle around every 15 minutes to get you there.
The manager of the Hotel - checked that things were ok for me on a daily basis .The personel touch goes a long way to make people feel comfortable. The hotel does have a majority of Russian guests - but please dont let this put you off.I found them to be quite friendly once I got to know them.
I have travelled to many places all over the World, staying at many hotels, but have never before experienced such an impeccable service from the staff and management. Please be aware that the wages for the Egyptian workers is very low indeed,so tipping is gratefully accepted and will go a long way with regard to staff going the extra mile to enhance your stay. This is of course fully optional but something that has always served me well on my visits to Egypt. My room was spacious and cleaned daily by my cleaner Mohamed - water and coke supplied in the fridge free of charge . Entertainment again was in Russian - but real good fun when you get the idea of it .If your looking for a nice relxing hotel for a holiday - this place is a good bet. I will certainly be returning in July and would like to thank the staff and management for making my week such a fine experience

Firstly this hotel is 99% Russian. Don't let this put you off!! Reading other reviews will mention the pushing and basic bad manners of these people. Just don't let them!! They would stand outside the restaurant waiting for it opening, to rush in and fill their many plates with as much food as they could!! LET Them! We just waited around 45 mins so they could get all their pushing and shoving out of the way. Food stations are constantly being refilled, so you wont get any different to what they did. Above all- be polite to the staff and let them know that you are ENGLISH. They WILL bend over backwards to make you feel welcome. A simple 'Good Morning' surprisingly will get the towel boy searching through the beach towel pile to get you the newest and fluffiest towels he can find, or to getting more coke and water put in your room fridge than you can drink. A small regular tip will also go a long way. Like I said we would wait till around 45mins after the restaurant opened to go for our breakfast, lunch and dinner, but would have a table sat waiting for us with drinks on!!!!!! You would see the Russians pushing and waiting at the bar to be served- us, we had another drink brought for before we had even got to the bottom of the glass!! But Enough about the other guests- Hotel is around 2 years old. Very well maintained and kept. Pool area and grounds were fantastic, as were the rooms. Clean, spacious and comfortable. 2 flat screen TVs, coffee/tea facilities, free safe and stocked fridge. All rooms look onto the pool area. Entrance to the hotel looks a little scruffy and un enspiring set nestled inbetween a row of crappy shops- but wait to be very supprised once entering the lobby, as from here things take a turn for the better. Check in was quick and suitcases taken to our rooms. Golden 5 complex is over the main road, took us 15 mins to walk to the far end of the complex where the beach is, or you can get a free courtacy bus to take you -around every 30mins, like the bone idle Russians did. Ground here are a very tired. Many things not working including the advertised cable car. Water park good though, and their lunch time snack bar better than the one in the topaz. You have to walk through a lobby of shops to get to the rooms. Very cleaver design. Just get used to saying NO, THANKYOU. And if cant be bothered with all the haggling carry on there are 2 fixed price shops within a short walking distance. We went on two trips. First one cost £30 each and was the safari trip. Around 9 hours of Jeep riding, quad bikes, camel riding, Bedouin village, go kart FUN!! Second was the 2 day Luxor trip. £110 each, Filled to the brim will sightseeing, Boat trip, food overnight stay in a floating hotel and horse-drawn carriage riding. Journey took around 4½ hour with one stop. If we were in the habit of going to a hotel more than once, I would consider this hotel again. But the world is far too big for that. :) Anything you need to know- contact me, I will reply with as much info as I ca less

Topaz looks great in the brochure! How looks can be very deceiving. This Hotel is marked down as a four/five star that is ridiculous it would struggle to make a one star. I must quickly state the two good things about the hotel, the swimming pool and the cleaning staff. The rest is just terrible. Firstly the Hotel is not for English people, I am not saying that for any reason other than it is completely full of Russians who to say the least have a very different mind-set. They do not queue, they are rude, and they are bullish and somewhat arrogant in my experience during this holiday. That is not to say that will be the case for all Russian people just the ones at this hotel on the 18th August 2014 for a week. Now for my biggest gripe, the FOOD IS ABSOLUTELY Terrible/disgusting not edible, I spent two days trying to force my three children to eat the food and then felt like I was abusing them as I would not feed that food to a dog. My children and I had to eat out of the Hotel almost every night with snacks from the shops during the day as I can honestly say we would have starved otherwise. It is very sad when you take up all inclusive and then have to purchase food throughout the holiday. That leads me nicely on to All Inclusive, what does this mean, I like to think it gives you the freedom to have planned your spend and for your children and you to relax and part take in the goods (food and drink) throughout the holiday. NOT HERE, Children are entitled to a second rate melting ice cream during the hours of 1600 to 1700 only, they cannot have anything at any other time. Drinks are dispersed by staff that are rude and uncaring and disinterested, providing flavourless, flat and warm drinks in the smallest cheapest plastic cups I have witnessed. By the way if you want a beer it is disgusting, flat, and warm or run out and when you do get one it is also in a child’s plastic cup. If you feel like you can escape to one of the other Hotel restaurants that are part of the golden five, then good luck. You can use their facilities (restaurant) during the last hour of service, so between 2100 and 2200 hours for dinner. How does this work for a young family where kids will not eat till that late in the day and also when you do get there you are left with the slops and left overs. Also keep in mind that this hotel is really an afterthought and not really part of the Golden Five as it is a considerable walk. Also they offer a bookable restaurant system across the Golden five, this is absolutely laughable, the places for the five restaurants are released at midnight every evening and you have to book on a computer terminal on line in the reception. There is a queue forming of up to 50 people from about 11pm onward and as you can image the Russian guest appear to work the system. If you again have children are you really going to queue from 2300hours till the early hours of the next morning to get a service that should be available to you anyway? I must say we did get to the Italian Restaurant after we complained, how they can call it Italian and gastro is beyond me, as it was a set meal and I would say Australia is closer to Italy than that food had every been. Next the beach, in the brochure it appears very close and lovely and sandy. IT IS NOT, it is a good 10-15minute walk and the sand is shell so very very uncomfortable on your feet, and if you go into the sea it is very rocky so take some sea shoes. Then to top this all of the Hotel then tried to charge us another £200 on some made up story around an extra, this had the effect of worrying my children so much as it took a good two days to sort out with various phone calls back to the UK. We felt threatened and it was implied that if we didn't pay they would do something such as stopping us from leaving; it all became vary unsavory and scary for my kids. I can honestly say with a clear heart DO NOT VISIT THIS HOTEL, particularly if you are ENGLISH or have KIDS. Take my advice a book a proper four/five star in Hurghada and experience it properly.

Additionally on each pool and on the beach are bars which offer daily fresh cooked snacks like burgers, pizza, vegetable sauté and sweets. Also we provide pizza and burgers, which are freshly prepared by our chefs and provided to our guests on several snack bars. Additionally also we have kids corners at each main restaurant at each meal time with special kids food, sweets, fruits and at pool bars free ice cream free of charge. Anyway you can always find hot, healthy, tasty and fresh and clean food for adults and for kids. 4. You can reserve daily by yourself one of our 7 A-La-Carte Restaurants free of charge. Each restaurant can be visited 1 time per stay. Additionally our Guest Relations Desks are close to these RSR-Computers and they support all guests, who would like to reserve any restaurant. During a high occupancy period it can happened that all A-la-Carte Restaurants are fully booked as we have limited seats at each restaurant. 7. Distance to the beach Please note that the distance between Golden 5 Topaz Suites Hotel and the beach is clearly mentioned at the Hotel description and was given to all our business partners. Additionally as Golden 5 Topaz Suites Hotel is rather far located from the beach and second line we are offering daily our Shuttle Bus Service which is operating each 30 minutes and free of charge. 8. Beach As the beach front of south of Hurghada is rather stony and with direct coral riffs in the front we always inform our guests to take bathing shoes with them to protect their feet. Moreover we have several entrances to the sea which are free of coral riffs and sandy. Please rest assured that we are very glad for receiving your valued comments and that we take each one in our serious consideration to improve permanently our service and offered facilities. We wish you all the best for the future. With warmth regards Your Golden 5 Topaz Suites Hotel Team

Externally the hotel doesn't look great, but the rest of the hotel is well presented. The rooms were very spacious and clean. The pool is a decent size. Food was very good and there was enough variety to keep you interested all week, and there is a BBQ/grill for lunches. Staff were friendly and helpful. There isn't much of a bar just the lobby area really, but that was fine. There is club on level 2 but it wasn't that lively unless there is a show going on. As the hotel is part of the golden five group you can use the facilities at the diamond hotel which is a massive complex including more bars, restuarants and a aqua park. It is only 5 minutes walk away. Good to add a bit of variety rather than staying in your hotel all the time. I booked the holiday through lowcost holidays and the travel rep was Eastmar. The agent was very helpful and offered many trips. I would recommend the super safari as its great value for money and lasts all day including bedouin visit, food, quad bikes, spider bikes, camel ride, show and star gazing. He also sorted out diving trips (which was main reason for visit), through golden dophin diving. Great boat, all day trip, great diving instructor and as always beautiful red sea. Were are both from UK so prepared to be outnumbered its 99% Russian. Not that I found it a problem. Be prepared also to be hasseled constantly by the natives out of the hotel to the point of frustration. It's a shame they havn't figured out that this behaviour really puts tourist off. The hotel is about 30 mins from airport and 20 mins taxi ride to places were you can get a change of scenary and a few more restaurants and bars. Make sure you agree with the taxi driver where you are going and how much before you get in the car. I am not a novice to this as this is my 4th time to Eygpt but I had two really horrible taxi experiences, once a disgustingly sleazy man and another who just tried to con more money out of me at every turn, we didnt even get to the destination we wanted. On the whole though would recommend the hotel, it was a good holiday.

This may be a lengthy review but worth the read. This hotel is an absolute nightmare. Not going to tell my experience in a story form but here is a list of what my friends and I encountered:
- they will scam you at checkout for more money than the rate you booked online for no reason - they will claim booking.com provides inaccurate rates and you are obliged to pay more otherwise they will deduct it from the front desk clerks - dirty bed sheets - dirty pillows - rusty showers - ZERO bathroom toiletries - used disposable nail filers in the bathroom - dysfunctional hairdryer - burnt spotlights in the room - room doors do not close or lock properly - bathroom towels are at least 10 years old - dirty fridge in rooms - hotel staff are rude and not helpful - everything you ask for is conveniently not included in the "all inclusive" package you paid for - food is not edible - restaurant staff have zero hygiene and don't follow any food service hygiene - waitors and bartenders don't serve you

yes there are few shops... but most of them related to tourist, e.g. souvenirs shops...
there is one shopping mall. about 3 km from the hotel... any taxi would cost around $10 to and fro. i hope it answers your questions..
