At the Pickalbatros Citadel Resort Sahl Hasheesh, many guests commend the extensive amenities, including a variety of dining options and engaging beach activities, though some guests mention a scarcity of snacks. The hotel's cleanliness is frequently celebrated, with most areas being spotless, though occasional lapses are noted. Its prime location with a private beach is a highlight for travelers, as are the spacious and clean rooms with impressive views, despite some noise complaints and check-in delays. While the vibrant atmosphere and luxurious design are appreciated, the noise level can be intrusive for some. Service is generally seen as friendly and responsive, but there are remarks about occasional unprofessional behavior and slow service. The value proposition of the hotel is debated among guests, with several considering it overpriced with extra fees for certain services.

Our 14-day stay at the Albatros Citadel Resort in Hurghada was an unforgettable experience, surrounded by the magnificent scenery of the Red Sea, excellent service and the impressive beauty of the resort. The fantastic location right on the beach, surrounded by stunning coral reefs, offered the perfect place for those who want to devote themselves to diving and snorkeling. In our spacious room we enjoyed a fascinating sea view, while style, cleanliness and efficient air conditioning ensured maximum comfort, even during the warm evening hours.

The culinary variety in the resort was remarkable, ranging from local delicacies to international delicacies, all freshly prepared and appetizingly presented. The beach restaurant stood out with its delicious seafood. The service throughout the resort was outstanding; the entire team, especially Mohammed Hashim, was always friendly, attentive and committed, which made our stay extremely pleasant.

There was no shortage of leisure options, from exciting diving and snorkeling adventures to relaxing days at the well-maintained swimming pools. Every day at the Albatros Citadel Resort was a joy, an ideal combination of relaxation and adventure.

In summary, the Albatros Citadel Resort in Hurghada is a true paradise for travelers looking for a mix of luxury, first-class service and an enchanting environment. Its proximity to the coral reefs makes it particularly attractive for diving and snorkeling fans. Our stay was perfect in every way and we can fully recommend the resort. We are already looking forward to our next trip there.

Perhaps the best hotel of the Albatross chain in Hurghada.
From the incredibly beautiful reef to the excellent food. From the stunning architecture and design to the thoughtful details of the furnishings.
I strongly recommend it to adults, without children, who prefer views, beautiful, interior hotels with good service.
Updated rooms that have everything: bathrobes and slippers (of very good quality, not just for show), shampoos, conditioners, lotions, machines, toothpaste and brushes. The rooms are large (even the simplest category), no one will be jostled. Large balconies or terraces. Stable Wi-Fi throughout the hotel, in the rooms and even on the beach, which is very rare not only for Hurghada, but also for Albatros hotels in particular. A compact, clear, clean area, where there are always places where you want to take pictures. There are a lot of spectacular locations for Insta lovers))
Even from the most distant buildings it will not be difficult to walk along the beautiful paths paved with smooth stones, as if through an ancient fortress.
High-quality alcohol and food for every taste. Several restaurants for lunch and dinner, snack bars with snacks and sweets, a pizzeria. You won't remain hungry at any time of the day.
For any question, you can always contact the Russian-speaking staff at the reception.
I recommend the hotel to young couples and adults without children. Older people may find it difficult due to the huge number of steps throughout the area, especially if they have problems with their feet. Children will probably be bored due to the lack of slides and active children's animation. Only if you see the stunning reef and snorkel - which I recommend to everyone. In my opinion, the best reef on the entire coast of Hurghada. Young people and adults who are not burdened with caring for children on vacation will find it great! After all, one of the most popular nightclubs in Hurghada, which is accessible from all hotels (Golden Budda), is located on the territory of the Citadel, and the most beautiful photographs from a very Instagrammable hotel will remind you of a great vacation for a long time.

The very spacious resort is unique, an architectural gem and ideal for a swimming and snorkeling holiday.
From the airport by private transfer about 30 minutes, by bus and several hotel trips about 1 hour drive.
The hotel is beautifully located by the sea, there are small shops, a pharmacy with a good pharmacist and a clinic. All around is desert.
We were very lucky to get an upgrade to a swim-up room. The room features a king-size bed, flat-screen TV, sofa with table, minibar and the option to make coffee and tea. We slept excellently in the super comfortable bed. In summer, however, the air conditioning could be a problem, as it blows sideways onto the bed.
In front of the spacious room, you can enjoy the view of the pool (small, for shared use by 6 rooms) and the sea on the small terrace. The loungers on the terrace are a disgrace for the hotel.
The spacious bathroom has been renovated. The fittings are as good as new. A few hooks on the wall for towels and/or bathrobes would be good. The exhaust air works very well. The room was always cleaned very well.
The food was good, but nothing special. We have experienced more varied, better all-inclusive meals in Egypt, but no one has to go hungry or thirsty. The staff was always very friendly, and everyone in the restaurants tried very hard to make the guest's stay as pleasant as possible. The buffet restaurant "Culina" (B,L,D) has a bit of a train station atmosphere, and is quite loud. We therefore preferred the "Food Court" at the marina for breakfast and lunch. In the evenings, however, it is used as an Italian specialty restaurant. For this reason, we always ate dinner at "The Citadel" next to the lobby bar. We did not use any other restaurants or bars.
There are several pools, two of which are heated, several whirlpools, a spa, and many beautiful stretches of beach. There are plenty of loungers, parasols, and showers, and sometimes even a changing room. Unfortunately, the animation music at the heated infinity pool is far too loud. In the evenings, the animation team often provided entertainment on stage.
At the marina, you can book various excursions and activities outside the hotel.

I've been a regular visitor to Red Sea hotels and resorts for many years, and Sahl Hashesh has always been my go-to for a luxurious stay with premium services.

Unfortunately, my experience at Pickalbatros Citadel Azur was disappointing in several ways:

1. They advertised early check-in for honeymooners based on availability, but we were checked in at 13:45 only after a disagreement. They claimed full occupancy, suggesting they knew there wouldn’t be any availability.

2. We were told to relax and that a staff member would come to assist us, but we waited over 25 minutes before I had to walk back to the reception for help.

3. The reception staff was limited and inattentive, leaving me feeling lost and confused.

4. Upon being escorted to our "honeymoon" room:
a. It was old and poorly maintained, with falling pictures and water stains.
b. There was a bad odor coming from the bathroom, which required me to call for housekeeping to clean it.
c. The fridge was dirty and filled with ice, nearly blocking the freezer.
d. I called room service for toiletries and extra towels, but after 90 minutes, I still hadn't received anything.
e. When I spoke with guest relations, they eventually offered us a cleaner, tidier room.
f. By the time we were moved to the new room, it was 18:00—so much for the advertised early check-in between 10:00 and 12:00!

5. Overall service was lacking; while the staff was polite, they seemed overworked and unable to respond to requests promptly. It felt more like a self-service experience than that of a luxury resort.

6. Food quality was disappointing. While there was a good variety of options, the taste was far from authentic and didn’t meet premium standards.

7. Cleanliness was an issue; the old room was unpleasant and smelly, while the new room was modest but clean. They didn't provide towels or toiletries without repeated requests.

Great location, great facilities overall, but it massively let down by the poor hotel management and training on their stuff.

We travelled with a 16m toddler and I can say it wasn't the best experience being at this hotel, as often we struggled to find open placed to feed her. They simply have to many hours between breakfast and lunch and between lunch and dinner where you can not find food.

Rooms were not cleaned properly, after day 1 we had to complain to change the room as it was too dirty and the air con was so loud that I couldn't sleep in the first night.

Food was appalling, repetitive, and lack of options... expecially at breakfast, and some chefs were very rude when you've asked them to cock you something.

The hotel is running a "money making machine " via their taxi services. An absolute rip off their own clients. They charge us €30 from the hotel to hurghada centre, meanwhile the same journey with UBER is €3, and for a trip to Aquarium they charged us €20 meanwhile UBER was less than €2 it is unacceptable for a hotel to run such a service and rip off their own clients. Absolutely disgusting behaviour. I UNDERSTAND they may charge more.. let's say 2..3..4.. times more.... but they charged us more than 10 times and this was after we " negotiated" the price.

The only comments I have is in relation to the kitchen staff who were rude at points when I tried to find food for my daughter and at one point they made me and my daughter eat outside at Culina just because we went 15 min before the opening hour as my 16m daughter was hungry

The worst bar experience in my life. Absolutely disgusting drinks whatever alcohol you ask they are all ' Yanni " it cost €2 per bottle. The only drinks I had over 10 days was beer everything else was disgraceful even the wine was one of the lowest in qualities ever. This is so called 5 star hotel has nothing more than a 2 star rating service on food and drinks

Same food every day almost, repetitive and boring. You've had the same soup, I repeat the same soup over a 4 days with a different name, from viermicelli soup, to pasta soup and something else, but it was the same soup. And some of the chefs are very rude, especially in the Culina Restaurant if you had a request or something. Particularly this one tall guy with mustache

There are no spaces for kids to eat. There are to many " dead " hours between 11am to 12:30pm and from 5pm to 6:30pm where you cannot eat if the baby is hungry or needs a snack. It's Utterly horrible that I had to argue with the guys at the restaurants to feed my child

I asked the receptionist to pack me the breakfast in the morning as I was travelling to Cairo. Below is the picture of their " 5☆ breakfast " offering. Absolutely appalling.

Not to mention that on our last day, we had food positioning. I was vomiting throughout the flight back to London 4 times, and my 16m daughter 3 times. Hats off to the Easy Jet flight attendants who were very helpful and polite and gave us the assistance during the flight.

I recently visited with my fiancé who is living in Cairo, so we drove down for a three day trip. The location is beautiful and the design of the hotel is grand and unique. When we checked in the hotel told us that my booking was fine as I have a UK passport but my fiancé, who is Lebanese, could not check in as the price we had paid was exclusively for British citizens. No where when booking was this stated! They would not let us check in until we paid an extra $111.

We finally reached our room which had a lovely view of the bay, however, as it was close to the pool area it was very loud during the day and also in the evening with the shows. The rooms are fine but not as grand as the rest of the design of the hotel.

The hotel has a selection of restaurants, some are buffet and some are à la carte. You needed to book each day between 8:30 and 10:30 at the guest relations if you wish to eat at the à la carte. We had arrived at 2pm and I enquired at the guest relations about bookings, The women on the desk was so rude and basically moved me away as it was past the time of booking, I wasn't even given the chance to enquire about other activities at the hotel. The next morning when I went to book there was another women working and again was met with a very dismissive and unhelpful attitude.

The breakfast and lunch buffets have a good selection but the evening buffets and the à la carte restaurants are awful. The food is so bland and tasteless. I am gluten free and on one night my fiancé explained in Arabic to the waiter and asked about the food I had ordered. The waiter went and checked in the kitchen if the fish I ordered was battered, which they said it was not. When the food arrived the fish was indeed fried and battered so I was unable to eat it.

Overall the hotel has potential but they really must work on the customer service and the food.

We flew from Chisinau via Anex. Upon arrival, we also paid $27 per person for a visa at the airport, a sticker in the passport. We left the airport at 8:30, they put us in a minivan and took us straight to the hotel. Only us! We arrived at the hotel reception at 9 am. And although check-in is at 14:00, we were checked in right away. We asked for a certain building and they gave us a simply bomb room overlooking the lagoon, the very center of the hotel. I handed over 10 dollars and the guy at the reception said that it was not necessary, but I insisted, saying they checked in right away and the room was great, just a little gratitude. The waiters and staff, of course, grab the handed bills without hesitation) But if you want this second building, then keep in mind that right below you have a stage and every evening there is a concert, and then a disco, but strictly until 23:00.

The hotel is certainly beyond praise. Arches, towers, loopholes, grottoes, columns and all this is finished with natural stone. Moreover, both outside and inside, everywhere except the rooms. Feeling like a medieval fortress. It's not called Citadel for nothing. And the lagoon with yachts gives the impression of a European resort town.

We have been to Sharm more than once. First time in Hurghada. We chose it because there is a sandy entrance to the sea. This is great fun for a child. This is the biggest plus of Hurghada.

The food in the restaurants is excellent, as in any five, which is above average. Meat, fish, side dishes, vegetables, fruits, desserts, good juices, don’t buy from vending machines. Several ala card restaurants, you can go to a new one every evening.

A couple of warm pools, but we came to the sea, so we went to the pools a couple of times. The beach is long, there is a lot of space, full of sun loungers, you get the feeling that there are few people, although this is not the case. There is no water park, there are no slides for adults or children. But our child is happy with everything, that’s the main thing!

In the evening there is a show and live music, then a disco.

Special thanks to the hotel manager Katya. Helped in some areas.

Hurghada lived up to expectations. We don’t want to leave, but we will be back))))

14 day stay in Hosto, splendid hotel, everything perfect, very beautiful and well furnished rooms, always clean and tidy, even the bathroom in perfect condition. The staff at the citadel resort are wonderful staff with everything available to help you and meet any of your needs. We found it very good, the restaurants offer a varied range of specialties, especially the rock's lounge is very good (shame about the food, very good but the same every evening), and also the food court, an Italian restaurant good for dinners and breakfasts , where we found impeccable staff, especially our favorite of the whole resort, Abdallah Mohammed, who in his own small way made our stay in the hotel a little more pleasant, always available for us, always ready to serve us drinks and always attentive to what everything was fine.
The hotel also boasts a bus that runs every 15 minutes. Between the rooms to move to the reception or other areas of the resort, which is very good given that it is very large, and also the drivers who are always kind and perfect, after two days of stay they already remembered our room.
Negative flaw of the resort is that unfortunately the shops inside have higher prices than here in Italy, so I advise against buying there, €5 for a pack of chips or €5 for a pack of cigarettes, for the place it is a This is a bit excessive given that just outside the resort we bought cigarettes for €2 in the little shops around, and at the supermarket for €5 we got a lot of things to eat and drink, not just a pack of chips.
Even the taxi service has an excessive cost, every day we traveled with Uber or local taxis by negotiating we were able to get to the center of Hurghada Marina for €10 return compared to the resort's taxi service which for a one-way trip for 8/10km to the airport he asked us €30, which we actually spent €5 with Uber.
Apart from these two small flaws, the hotel is wonderful, I recommend you try it.

A very unusual hotel, the architecture is impressive, both the territory and the rooms. Everything is in stone. There’s just not enough greenery, but the view of the sea from the window is gorgeous. Everything in the room is in working order, the cleaning is good, towels are changed, cosmetics, tea and coffee set, and water are replenished. The linen and towels are white, the mattresses are comfortable.
The area is very large, we will have to walk a lot, the ascents/descents did not bother us, but for those with limited mobility, the elderly or those with small children, we need to think about whether this hotel is suitable in principle.
The beach is very large, the coastline is about 1.5 km. The lagoons are good, gradually deep, there are fish. Safety shoes are a must, there are some cleared areas with sand, but mostly rocks and coral. The lagoons would have been enough for me, but my sister wanted to go to the open sea, they didn’t let me. As a result, we booked two excursions to the Sharm el Naga reserve and Utopia. Here we swam in the sea near the corals to our heart's content. The reserve is simply super, living corals, beautiful fish, like in an aquarium, a fairy tale. The organizer is the local company Sami tour, we found them based on reviews, wrote to the website, but already agreed on Instagram. The prices are good and the organization too, we’re super happy.
Well, everyone is concerned about the question of nutrition. Honestly, we had enough of everything, including variety. Considering that we signed up for a 7-night tour and dinners at all a la carte restaurants, and there were 5 of them for a minute), one paid (Buddha), then there is plenty of variety. Two or three cafes serve ice cream, which is delicious. Many bars on site, including on the beach 3), two main restaurants, a food court with snacks. There is plenty of food.
The staff is mostly attentive, sincere and with a positive attitude, well, maybe we saw a couple of people who were dissatisfied with everything. They will help, advise, there is feedback.
We were pleased with our vacation, a beautiful and unusual hotel that will remain in our memories for a long time.

This isn’t to be considered a 5-star resort ,very bad. The resort is overbooked , had to wait for more than 90 minutes to check into the room not as mentioned that you can check in by 2 pm i checked in by 3:45 pm . The air conditioning in the lobby and the bars are quite bizarre tbh and they turn it off by 11:30 pm . The animation team are seriously no where to be found . Some waiters and chefs are very unprofessional and rude , didn’t feel at peace at all . The distances between different places is so big with steep inclines so i think the resort is not suitable at all for people with baby strollers or wheel chairs , shuttle bus is available but you may need to wait quit a bit .But actually the biggest problem is the food , i waited in line for more than 15 minute to get a pancake and if you arrive in the last hour in the buffet most of the food would be gone by then and they won’t refill it . There is only 1 snack bar by the beach and it opens only for an hour and a half. So this resort’s food is big no.
What i liked were the rooms , so spacious and clean with immaculate views. But that isnot enough to make me come back here .

We regret our services have not met your expectationns and hoped we would have been given the chance to be able to solve the issues on spot while being our guest to restore your satisfaction and make sure you had an unforgettable holiday experience.
