it was nice stay, it is recommended to stay in such hotel, nothing was missing somehow. of course we are not specking about very luxury hotel, but we receive the rooms very clean and quite fast in very friendly manner
Excellent accommodation and very friendly services in all areas, especially the animation team Koka and Jeanine, tasty and extensive selection of food. We enjoyed the whole stay, minor problems were immediately solved.
We were in dire need for a proper vacation. We got the recommendation to Ancient Sands from several friends who have been there before. The possibility of booking an appartment in an all inclusive luxury hotel had its charm. Also the concept of El Gouna was very appealing to us. We were not disappointed… Starting with the lovely archtecture of the hotel that is sitting on a slightly distant hill in El Gouna reminding me of a castle from Prince of Persia (the game or the movie you decide). So driving up to it gives its name another mistique. Our first appartment on the ground was lovely. It was spaciuos & nicely arranged. But as our stay was for one week we asked for one on the first floor with a view & the next morning it was made ready for us. That appartment was amazing! Very spacious on a corner with 2 balkonies one view on the main pool & one view out on El Gouna with the red sea. Wow! The food at the restaurants was very tasty. We were lucky that our first night was the oriental night, so we had all the local dishes. Breakfast is also open bufet & very tasty, specially the egg station. Lunch is in another restaurant a la carte. The beautiful main pool that is surrounded with palm trees was heated so we had a lovely water temperature of 30 degrees celcius. We were a bit unlucky that it still was windy, so getting out of the pool was chilly. Now to the great staff where i like to name a few that stood out: Starting with the reception with Martin & Abanoub who were very welcoming & made us directly feel at ease. To the restaurant staff starting with the chef cook Ibrahim who made sure we were happy with our food & even made an egyptian streetfood dish specially for us although it wasn‘t the oriental night, only because we loved it a few nights before. The waiters Shaban, Bishoy & Mina were extra kind a attentive. At the pool Andrew provided us with coffee, coke & made lovely cocktails & didn‘t leave us in the dry. Also Mohammed had always the towels ready for us. The animation team was welcoming us to take part in activities but were unobtrusive & not annoying like in other places. Last but definatly not least… Mr. Magdy Makram the Food & Baverage Manager. This man is a hands on manager. You find him everywhere anytime. He was so nice, welcoming and always made sure we were satisfied & had what we need. When we ate out one night, he asked us the next morning where we have been, that we were missed & what food we missed. You see him controlling every little detail & instructing his workers with the tasks that need to be done in order to make the guests feel fine. That kind of dedication is rare. To sum it up. Our goal was achieved. We had a LOVELY vacation in an AMAZING hotel where we really could reset & recharge. That was for sure not our last time in this great place. We are planning for the next time already……
The worst hotel ever simply don’t go there, misleading no direct beach , it is simply like motels we have in Australia, I can’t give them even 1 star , simply go to well known hotel , this hotel is completely bad
Great hotel with top service! Friendly, open and very caring. Clean hotel, top accomodation and a very nice well kept golf course! I have severe food allergies and the restaurant (and its cheff and maitre Madi) are very alert and prepare with care delicious and safe meals. Yvonne and Abanoub from front desk are always available and make you feel welcome immediately. Magdy and the staff of food and beverage are top as well! It's a gem in the desert where good vibes prevail!
Thank you for a great, fantastic relaxing holiday. The food was phenomenal as was the whole hotel. Thanks to a perfect staff, the vacation was unforgettable. A big thank you to Ibrahim, Taymor, Kirolos, Khalil, Andrew, Magdy, Mina, Beshoy and Kerolus
It was an extremely bad experience I thankfully met Remon on my exit who assured me this isn't the standard. I was given a complimentary night so I'll go again before end year to check it out. Staff is good but cleanliness has a major issue. Moreover balcony chair was broken missing a screw abd I nearly fell off. Kitchen staff smelled bad when we were putting foul. Rest of staff good and extremely friendly.
Stayed here for a week - (split into 2/5 days as I went to a trip on Nile in between). I found this hotel to be very nice, rooms/apts are very well fitted and very comfortable . Staff are very helpful & found me a ground floor room for my return. Food is ok - breakfast has the usual omelettes , fresh fruit & compotes available as well as the pastries/rolls etc - plenty to chose from. Lunch at the Piaza restaurant, menu could be a little more expansive but ok. Dinner menu is ok - nothing exciting. I think they could release a little more areas/space for sunbathing . Relaxation pool area could take some more sun beds & the sandy area here would be better paved over. Leisure pool area has too many palm trees making it too shaded, mind in July/august time that might be welcome!!! Also seems to be a lot of flies around that area?? But on the whole a pleasant stay but would opt for a hotel nearer El Gouna .…
If you enjoy a calm and beautiful place, you should pick up Ancient Sands . Architecture is unique as well as the view on the ocean. Spa and Gym will be soon open and it will become even better. Everyone who is working there is very friendly and cheerful.
