Casa Cook El Gouna is celebrated for its beautifully designed, spacious rooms with private pools, though occasional remarks about cleanliness and noise do surface. The hotel's amenities, including luxurious pools, a spa, and dining, are met with widespread approval from guests, contributing to a serene and chic atmosphere that many find enhances their stay. Its tranquil location offers easy beach access and is near local attractions, yet some guests feel it could benefit from additional facilities. While the hotel generally represents good value, there are mixed feelings about the cost of dining experiences. The staff's exemplary service and the hotel's commitment to cleanliness, featuring eco-friendly practices, consistently receive high praise.

From check-in to check-out, our stay at Casa Cook was comfortable and enjoyable. Due to the pandemic, our original honeymoon plans fell through and Casa Cook Gouna did not disappoint. From the onset, we were housed in a suite with a beautiful sea view, with a shared private pool... the hotel has up of 30+ pools in addition to the main pool.

We were there on a B&B basis. To make up for not having a buffet as a safety precaution, the staff were diligent in accomodating out requests with a wealthy choice of menus to choose from, healthy, oriental and western. The staff were friendly and ensured that our every request was met. The head chef was sure to pass around and make sure all guests were satisfied.

The minimalistic style of the hotel and its uncluttered style was soothing and relaxing. Staff were discreet and with the design of the hotel, we enjoyed our privact at all times.

If we had any concerns about coronavirus or the pandemic, they were alleviated within the first few hours at Casa Cook. From disinfecting our luggage, our seats and table at the restaurant, chaise longues at the pool, to ensuring the rooms are thoroughly aired, cleaned and disinfected and leaving adequate time between guests... just some of the precautions taken by the hotel we certainly didn't have any concerns about our safety there.

We enjoyed our time there so much that we extended our stay two more nights!

The Hotel has a special style and design which we loved. Rooms are very clean, the staff are friendly, welcoming, professional and there is continuous follow up. The hotel is not far from downtown, only 7 mins away by car and transportation is easy in Gouna. There's a kite surfing center there if you want some entertainment and adventure. The food is delicious, their crispy wings and homemade fried is a must try. The Duty manager helped organise a day trip to Mahmeya, an island where the waters are as clear as can be.

From the moment you step in you can feel the relaxing and chill vibe. Our stay was beyond amazing and the staff was really friendly and got us whatever we needed. The food was superb and very very filling.
The pool and the beach were very relaxing if i’d add a thing it would be using heaters during summer as well cause the pool water was at times cold.
They were taking safety measures seriously when it comes to sanitizing, social distancing and even serving in regards to COVID-19
The hotel design is very interesting; utilizing every spot and the great attention to details; from the rooms to the restaurant, the pools and reception, and the use of materials and playing with shade and shadow, perfect.

We booked a weeks stay here for my birthday mid-feb in a standard room & was upgraded to a sea view room on arrival which was a welcome surprise! There was also a birthday cake left in our room on my bday which was a really lovely touch.

The room was very spacious with a small terrace/seating area overlooking the sea & beach.
Bathroom toiletries were lovely, although things like cotton pads/earbuds were not replenished.
The hair dryer was excellent! (I cannot tell you how many times good hotels get this wrong).

Breakfast was fantastic, everything you could want for & more! The omelettes were some of the best I’ve had anywhere. Crepes were fantastic.
Dinner was an a la carte affair with themed buffet nights throughout the week. We didn’t bother with the buffet so can’t comment but overall the food was of a good standard. Don’t bother with the tuna, despite the abundance of it in the Red Sea, they don’t fish it locally! As with everywhere, all alcohol is local, they don’t import any branded drinks in Egypt due to licensing. We found the wine to be of a good standard!

There are plenty of restaurant & bar options in the marina & downtown which can be reached by a short tuk tuk ride. Try & have the correct change or order through the careem app (Uber) as the drivers never have change (apparently) Cost of a ride is approx £1/€1 each way & there’s always a cpl waiting outside the front of the hotel.

The spa is lovely, we enjoyed hammam & massage treatments, not badly priced for a hotel of this standard.

The hotel have a small entertainment package including free & paid for extras: movie nights, cookery lessons (both free) yoga, horse riding (additional charge).

The pool on the beach is lovely with a good amount of loungers however the hotel do very little about guests coming down early before breakfast to reserve their spot only to turn up hours later. Very annoying.

The only things that let it down is that it’s difficult to find if you don’t know the el Gouna area, many local drivers struggled to find it even with maps on their phone.

The only indoor bar area is in the reception/gift shop which feels a bit weird in the winter months when it’s very very cold at night!

Overall, thoroughly enjoy our stay & wouldn’t hesitate to return.

This is one of the very uncommon situation when I feel comfortable giving a hotel an excellent rating. Having visited almost every hotel in Elgouna, this one is by far the best for those looking for a peaceful getaway.
I stayed in villa with private pool, and it was super clean and cozy with everything I could ask for. I liked the simple furniture and interior design of wood and marble. It just amplifies the serenity and beauty of the whole place. The staff is very friendly while still working discreetly not to disturb the guests peaceful experience.
The food is delicious and well served. Not the best you can get in Elgouna; however I decided to stay and dine inside the hotel’s main restaurant to maximize the peaceful experience.
The whole atmosphere in the hotel shows a great attention to details. Being environment friendly is a great initiative and I really liked the bamboo straws served with cocktails.
The only downside was that the private pool isn’t 100% private. It’s still accessible from the common areas where you can see and be seen by other guests and hotel’s staff. It would’ve been much better to have a small fence or tree barrier to enhance the privacy and tranquility of the villas with private pool.

My stay at Casa Cook came as a great surprise. I like El Gouna and visit frequently each year. This time I decided to try this new hotel where I found availability with good photos and description on their website.

All started well by the front office manager Mahmoud calling me one day before my trip to give me an orientation about the hotel and answer Qs that I had.

It was easy to find the hotel on Google maps. The staff was welcoming. Mahmoud was helpful in allocating two rooms near each other for my friend and I.

The food and room service were surprisingly excellent. Breakfast was good as well with their way to avoid buffet where contamination could be easily spread.

Definitely a must revisit and I will call Mahmoud to prepare a nice set up before I book.

We had really high expectations just based on the pictures and the information that was available to us when looking for the hotel online. But we were absolutely blown away by the kindness and attentiveness of the whole staff. Right from the start, the the guys at the front desk did everything to make sure we felt at home, the nice lemonade when you arrive is just a perfect touch.

Everyone at the restaurant made sure we were taken care of, it almost felt like we were the only ones there.

We went for the half board, which was just perfect, it gave us an opportunity to try almost everything they had on the menu, even though we were there for over a week we always had an amazing new plate for dinner. Breakfasts were super complete with great variety and freshness.

The full staff, from the guys making up the rooms, to the guys at the pool and the beach, were always welcoming and had an amazing attitude regardless of how incredibly hot it was. Hard not to mention that it’s an incredible spot for kite surfing.

We would recommend this Hotel to any of our friends and relatives.

Not worth money, very expensive for Egypt, definetly can find better resorts in El Gouna and Hurghada The room we received had absolutely no view, had no window to open so if you want to ventilate the room you must open the entering door; i mention that we reserved a premium roof terrace room I ask for a room change, they didn’t care. The AC make an incredible noise and is very disturbing in the night. The room is not properly finished, no mini bar. The restaurant has incredible high prices for Egypt. The breakfast is horror, you ask for everything you want, they don’t understand, they put very little, they are rude, very bad experiece. The beach is a combination of mud with very little sand, not very nice, not possible to swim. In one night they had a private event with loud music all night Take in consideration this review and AVOID this hotel, there are a lot of other resorts much better

Hi Alex! It is our highest priority to make our guests feel at home while providing a smooth and relaxing experience, but it's apparent in this case that we fell short. We would like to express our gratitude for taking the time to share your thoughts with us, since we learn and improve from those. Please accept our apologies for being unable to offer you a room change. Discussions involving the respective team members and management have taken place to review your comments and we would like to assure you that all of your concerns will be addressed. All our rooms are equipped with a minibar. Due to current COVID-19 regulations you will only find it stocked with water. Any other item can be ordered via Room Service. We are sorry to read that your breakfast experience was not satisfactory. Our buffet is placed behind plexiglass screens as part of our COVID-19 hygiene protocol. We regret that this led to some delays and communication difficulties. Rest assured that necessary steps have been taken to enhance the service. While we apologize for the shortcomings experienced and relook at our way to train our colleagues, I really hope you will give us another chance, if travelling back to El Gouna to show you our real nature, on that occasion, I would appreciate if you could contact me directly. Kind regards, Simone Höch

I really wanted to give the hotel 5 stars but it's just not quite there. The staff are lovely, really attentive and nothing is too much trouble but there were just a few things about our stay that has made us give it 4 stars. The breakfast is amazing but lunch and dinner was quite a disappointment, a lot of the menu is fried, at lunch a lot of it is deep fried. I feel that the food here could have been far more authentic to the hotels location but there is only 1 typical Egyptian dish on the menu. The alcohol is all Egyptian, no international brands, apparently this is due to a separate license being needed to serve international alcohol but I would expect a hotel of this calibre to have this license, the Egyptian wine is not that great. Lastly the pool is a bit of a nightmare to get a sunbed, we had a room with a pool but the shade comes over at 2pm. At this time it's impossible to get a spot by the main pool, not because it's full but because loads of people leave their stuff by the pool and go kite surfing. Meaning there are loads of empty beds but the staff can't touch anyone's towels.

We enjoyed Casa Cook once more to the max!
Beautifiul hotel, not too big, friendly staff, nice rooms with nice terrace and private pool, all clean, nice general pool area with decent entertainment in the late afternoon.
Even though Casa Cook is a little ouside the center of El Gouna all the spots can be reached easily by Tuk-Tuk/Taxi. Also the bus from the dive center picked us up at Casa Cook.
Kite surfing was perfect. Having the kite center right inside the hotel area it is really easy and quick to go kite surfing.
This year we booked bed and breakfast only (last time half board). We enjoyed the restaurants in the village more than the restaurant inside the hotel. This is the one and only point that is not to our full satisafction. Food at the hotel restaurant is quite 'heavy'. Even the 'fresh garden salad' comes with thick sauce and sticky mushrooms. Generally too many things are prepared (cooked/sauteed/fried) in way too much oil.
Why not offering the option of italian dressing or vinaigrette?
Why not offering menu that changes weekly or even daily? The menu offers a big choice. Having one or two Plates that change regularly would be much of added value. Same goes for the drink menu.
All in all we rate the price-performance as very good.

Dear maze 180, Thank you for spending another vacation here at Casa Cook El Gouna and for taking the time to rate us on TripAdvisor. Great to read that overall, you find the hotel amazing. At the same time, we regret that some of our services and the food offering did not quite meet your expectations. We do offer a daily changing set menu and update our à la carte selection seasonally. For salad lovers, we also offer a award-winning olive oil and a delicious local pomegranate balsamic vinegar for your own dressing. Your input is very welcome and will be discussed with our Executive Chef. We look forward to welcoming you again soon in our breezy beach hideaway! Warm regards, Your Casa Cook El Gouna Crew
