I have been to Egypt about 15 times and comparing this hotel with Mövenpick el gouna, Mövenpick soma bay and Kempinski in soma bay. I find this hotel the best to be honest, a bit more expensive then the other hotels, but you feel a difference in service. The room are wonderful designed and the property is right at the beach, about 10 minutes from the marina. The staff is hard working and I felt in good hands. I will return again for sure. I did also enjoy the kite sport right in front of the hotel – highly recommend for kitesurfers that love flat water.

Last year I stayed at the Casa Cook in Rhodes and was very curious about the first Casa Cook in Egypt. The architecture is fantastic and the beach front location wonderful. The hotel has its own kite station and also offers stand-up paddling. I joined one of the yoga classes with Lamiaa and really enjoyed it. Rooms are wonderful. I love the colors and urban style. The breakfast buffet was delicious and also the other dishes I tried were tasty. The team is lovely.

A well appointed 3 star hotel. Staff universally charming but some are inexperienced, untrained and definitely not 5 star standard yet. Had anyone asked for my opinion, I’d have told them about the negative things and left them off here, but they didn’t. So much to say it’s in note form. Spacious suites but with single 3 ft beds about 4 inches apart. Mattress topper, soft. Good linen. Pillows fine. Dust-entrapping basket weave lamp shades quite dim and dusty. A prison of taupe with black and raffia accents, reminded me of a Mayfair hairdresser I frequented in the 90s. External architecture unattractive but prolific gardens will be super when they mature and hopefully soften the look. All pool heating on when I arrived because the wind made the water cold. Excellent. Good sized swim up pools shared between 2 suites. Very private where I was but not all of the pools and terraces are so private. Staff drift about the gardens, cleaning the pools regularly, so if you’re lucky one of them will move your recliner to follow the sun. Sunbeds good quality heavy duty with good mattresses. Excellent built in large double sun bed under bamboo shade which the sun peeps through. Hotel probably less than half full, which made it perfectly peaceful for me and it felt exclusive. Not sure how it will be when full. Probably won't suit me. Lovely hotel beach and main pool with bar and bistro. Plenty of outdoor activities. Excellent spa but only offering massages and wraps. No facials, pedis or manis yet. Male and female staff. 2 temperatures of steam room, 2 saunas, small plunge pool and lovely open top walled swimming pool in centre of spa. Small but reasonably equipped gym with separate yoga studio and professionally led free yoga sessions as well as paid PT available. Tea and coffee kits in room but 1.5 Euros per Nespresso pod – 100 Egyptian pounds minibar added to my bill but also 10 USD demanded on departure, apparently for Nespresso pods and beer but I don't drink! Half board food pleasant and plentiful. They have interesting and tasty ways with excellent beef, involving liberal use of harissa so no good if you’re not keen on spice. Half board menu changed every day, not sure about a la carte. Nice not to have a general buffet at dinner. Everything was fresher. Excellent short order cook at breakfast, which had great choice. They have installed an ATM but it doesn’t work yet. Many banks in El Gouna. No building work going on in the hotel apart from snagging and final completion of some rooms. Snagging included the door to my outside shower, which didn’t close properly and kept me awake all of my last night, banging in the wind. Why have an outside shower when you are not camping? The space would be better reconfigured into more wardrobe. Unless you’re there with just jeans, shorts and t shirts for sight seeing and kite surfing, the wardrobe is laughably small, with about 2 feet of hanging space and smart wooden hangers with really wide shoulder rests. Just 4 drawers. If I’d been sharing my suite my partner would have had to live out of a suitcase! No storage space by bed and tiny stools for bedside table. Despite being advertised as adults only, they have accepted bookings from kids, so beware. Kids turned up on my last night and the mother was furious when other guests asked for them to play in their own villa rather than in the breakfast courtyard. “No parking” near main entrance but no porter to get your luggage or take it to the car. When I demanded porter on arrival he came back to ask me to open the boot for him as he hadn’t found the button bearing a picture of a car boot in the centre of the key fob. The “no parking” business ruined it for me, because it’s so stupid. Like any hotel, there is an area by the second security station, within the main compound, which should be used for setting down and picking up, but parking of any kind is verboten except in the distant car park. FFS.

We stayed at this hotel two weeks. We booked through the travel agency so my own background work was undone. Already arriving we have some problems and had to wait quite long. However we get slightly better apartment which we had booked. In the apartment (room) was everything you need, extra luxury own swimming pool..Nice. Breakfast was totally good and staff super helpful. There's also a very good gym. Cleaning super peak...(Thanks Yosef) and wifi works good enough. And the things we didn't like. Location...Hotel is really middle of nowhere....Ok tuktuk goes but still I would to choose a place where I could move at evenings and look around. Example:I didn't understand why there were so many bicycles for rent but where can they be used? The roads were unfit for it. In this situation hotel holds high prises,we term it monopoly. Free economy lesson: Tourists don't pay too much and always considering country local price level. Four stars goes to hotel and location get one star. I recommend if you want to relax/and appreciate that all services is near and you're willing to pay.

Hi TravelManVaasa! Thanks for taking the time to share your comments on Tripadvisor! We are glad to read that you were happy with your upgrade and the option to have access to the pool. We have shared your compliments about the breakfast with our culinary team and also your feedback about our housekeeping was well received. We are sorry to read that you didn't like the location. Casa Cook El Gouna offers a perfect beachfront location and is the ideal spot for kiting and wonderful beach walks. A long the shoreline you can reach the busy marina by walking in around 40 mins. To take a Tuk-Tuk to explore the area is the most popular way to explore the destination. The Abu Tig marina is a 3.1 km drive and the old town is at a distance of around 7 km. Again, thanks for your recommendation! Your Casa Cook El Gouna Team

I stayed att casa cook El Gouna in the beginning of February and we were both extremely pleased with both accommodations and service. The food was excellent and plentiful. Casa cook is some distance away from central el gouna but this was mostly a bonus since it was very peaceful. The only reason I wont give a perfect rating is that construction was still going on so we had no chance to use the saunas, the bikes for rent were not working yet and there was at times lots of construction noices. When everything is finished I'm am sure that it will be perfect.
