We did a short trip to the Icona Avalon for Spring Break. Although the weather was on the chillier side the Icona provided a wonderful backdrop for a quick getaway. Parking is ample and check in was easy. Our 2-queen plus was generous in side and had a pool and partial ocean view. The pullout sofa plus the two queen beds were very roomy for 4. The aesthetic is all white, sparse and clean. I will say the bathroom shower floor could use a good grout scrubbing but otherwise very clean. The kitchenette looked never used and proved to be useful. The Icona is on the beach and we took some amazing evening and morning walks. The Avalon Brew Pub provided a good dinner and dessert and in the morning the coffee bar was great for Starbucks, croissants and bagels. Pasquale had a great demeanor and was so pleasant to talk to. Not sure if it's because we were off season but housekeeping left early and we had to go downstairs to pick up extra toiletries. Also, the Avalon Brew Pub did not offer room service. Neither was a massive inconvenience since the Pub is a short walk downstairs. Stone Harbor is less than a mile down the road and offers a ton of shopping and restaurants. Overall, we loved the laid back quiet atmosphere of the Icona off season and will definitely consider it again for another Spring Break weekend!

Hotel's Favorite
As a retired Hotel GM for a major chain, I consider myself a tough critic. My expectations were admittedly low due to our family group stay coming at the end of the season, a late Thursday night in September. Not the case. I was very pleasantly surprised as to the condition and maintenance at the conclusion of the "busy" season. Nice job to the maintenance crew! I know that shore Guests can be tough on a facility. The staff encountered were friendly throughout our stay. The public areas were clean. The room, done mostly in white, was clean and free from wear & tear. Fridge, coffee maker, hot water, etc. all worked as they should. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom, while small, was clean (I found one long brown hair). We stayed on a Thursday night and I heard no complaints or concerns from any of the others in our group. Breakfast on Friday morning (we had two adjacent tables of 11 pp total) was a bit slow as most servers had gone for the season. The 2 servers were doing a tremendous job and we gave them some slack and enjoyed good conversation. Other banquet crew and kitchen staff were assisting. Nice Team work observed. I was previously unfamiliar with the ICONA product and hear that they have two others. I would not hesitate to give them a try. Only pleasant surprises experienced.

Returned to where we hosted our daughter’s wedding 2 years ago and once again, had an absolutely fantastic time. ICONA Avalon is indeed everything you read about- it is consistently excellent and does not disappoint. Spent 3 days/2 nights during what they call their “cozy season.” Take advantage of this time frame if you can...less crowded and still plenty to do. Highly recommend requesting a room on the “beach side”- we had a 2nd floor King room- 223- and the view from our balcony was incredible. Witnessed a breathtaking sunrise- doesn’t get much better. The rooms are meticulously cleaned- pleasant smells as you enter (important for me) and other details available as well. Stocked bathroom, fridge, robes, coffee maker/small kitchenette. The bed was so comfortable with soft sheets and plenty of pillows- great sleeping. (Quiet at night as well!) Got to workout in their workout room as well - 1 stairmaster and 2 treadmills along with a section with free weights and more- super clean and great for a quick workout. Went to the Avalon Brew Pub both mornings and had excellent breakfasts. Servers (Mikaylah and Megan) were fantastic. Will return again- can’t resist the beach being steps away and all the amazing offerings from ICONA Avalon.

Absolutely beautiful! This is my fourth time staying here and it’s an absolute must stay at the southern new Jersey shore points. It’s redone and it has the feel of a small boutique hotel. Very clean, nicely decorated, and always friendly people working. It’s right on the beach for a nice walk and in the summer they have an outdoor pool and bar right on the beach. When we arrived this time Justin checked us in and we were celebrating my best friends birthday and he sent up a bottle of bubbly for us to celebrate. What a nice touch :)

My wife and I had the pleasure of staying at the ICONA Avalon for a get-away weekend in February with another couple. The hotel and location are fantastic! Check in was very easy. The associate at the front desk was quick and very helpful with the few questions we had. She directed us to where our rooms would be located and could not have been nicer. The room itself was huge! We had the two room family suite with 2 separate bathrooms and a kitchenette. It was the size of an apartment! You could tell the room had been thoroughly cleaned and well kept! My wife and her sister loved the little touches, like a rose made out of the toilet paper. Very cool. We could see the beach and the ocean from the room. The day was on the colder side but we still walked around the property and took a walk on the beach, which was right at the end of the street. Huge beach and would be a nice spot during the summer. We picked up a menu at the Avalon Brew Pub for takeout on the way back as it is next to the hotel. They had seating but we are not taking too many chances with the virus. Good food selection and beer choices. We were happy with what we ordered and with the 4 person kitchen table in our room, had plenty of room to eat and drink. Got a great night's sleep as the beds were roomy and comfortable. Without the kids, I think we slept in until after 8! Checkout was a breeze and the staff made sure we had a fantastic stay! We are thinking about when we can get away to ICONA again, with or without the kids. It will be our go-to destination now at the Jersey Shore!
