Comfortable room with balcony. That's why I give it 3 stars. I was about to give 2 stars for the pool. I have never seen a pool so dirty. Nobody cleans it during the day and you can't see the 50cm bottom so dirty it is. The music is too loud as if we were in a hotel club for singles. The terrace slides a lot and I almost split my foot on a piece of plastic water drainage that broke. This pool needs urgent renovation and more maintenance staff. Lousy security.
Breakfast hours on Sunday: does not open before 8am. A stupid thing when you only stay one night and have to be out of the hotel at 12 and you can't take much advantage of the beach in the morning due to lack of time.
Friendly staff but at check out they don't seem to ask if we enjoyed the stay for fear of negative comments. It is the basis of the reception's work to make sure that instead of writing on trip advisor.

Hotel was in good shape and staff was fantastic. We stayed in the building across the Malecon, King Suite. The traffic noise was a little loud in the living room but you could not hear it in the bedroom if you closed the door which is most important.
Food at breakfast was good with a small variety but no complaints at all. The Hotel does not sit on a nice portion of beach but its a short walk down the Malecon to city and larger beaches in Salinas. All in all we would stay here again without question when traveling to Salinas. I do not believe there is a better hotel in the town.
1 star removed due to construction going on to upgrade some areas. There was not noise but the sections were not open.

Nice place, friendly staff. I only have 2 upgrades that need to be maade. First, Ecuador is a coffee producing country and the hotel should serve coffeeaccordingly. The coffee for breakfast was on par with Burger King coffee in the States. YUK! Some espresso would have been nice. In addition the milk for the coffe was not cream or even real milk, it was powdered milk that never completely disolved. It is what poor people who can't afford real milk buy. (BTW, I live in Ecuador , so I know of what I speak) I expect better from a prestigeous hotel. By and large it was a nice stay. Get some decent coffee, it is not hard to do.

Quite expensive and the attention you get from staff is no good. Rooms are too simple for what you pay for. We booked joined rooms and they sent us to rooms very far away from each other. Opposite sides of the floor, in fact. When we asked for it to be fixed they didn’t even bother checking to see if they could do it. Awful customer servicez

Traveling is much more than sightseeing, since it not only opens our minds, it teaches us other ways of life, other cultures, other customs, traditions, typical dishes of our beautiful country, it tests us and above all allows us to share beautiful moments. with the family.
For vacation 8 months ago, I traveled to Salinas with my family and we stayed at the Hotel ColĂłn Salinas, I loved the great view of the sea and the breeze of the wind, I am a big fan of the variety of food that the Hotel offers and the comfort of its rooms, during my stay I could read a book while listening to very relaxed music in the comfort of the balcony where the sunset view was incredible. I can't stand the accumulation of tourists in small places but for the large and comfortable facilities of the Hotel It wasn't the case, watching the whales very close really makes me nervous but nevertheless it was a great experience that thanks to the guides of the Hotel I was able to live good times on the high seas.
I'm generally not a fan of suggesting that I visit Hotels, but I definitely recommend that you take the time to visit this place, not only because of the excellent service and prices it offers you, but also because you won't regret visiting it.

The employees are unprepared and rude. They ignore foreigners and don't serve them well. Security also left something to be desired. Not worth the daily rate. Management does not assist guests, not even when asking for complaints.

“All-inclusive” is a bit of a stretch for this property – what it really means is “all you can eat and drink, including domestic beer.”
Other announced activities and entertainment are usually cancelled except when the property is full or nearly so.
Even then, the staff seems to have been directed to nickel-and-dime the buffet – the waiters and waitresses often fussily spirit away your plates and silverware (which is not readily available outside place settings) the minute it appears you’re done.
Extra-person charges are exorbitant. The hotel also needs to find a better way of identifying its guests – they use a wristband which stays on your wrist throughout your stay (so make sure it’s not a tight fit). This, of course, also unhelpfully identifies you to cabbies, beach touts and anyone else with good or ill intentions as someone who’s staying at Salinas’ priciest hotel.
Rooms are clean and average sized and have an iron and hair dryer but no “wow” amenities, not even a bathroom exhaust fan. They do stock your mini-fridge with free soda, juice and water every day. The location is decent but it’s about a half-mile east of the main center of activity.
Service is also average. Problems or issues are usually resolved quickly, but at times require a follow-up call.
There’s a catwalk over the street that connects to the beach, but the section of the beach in front of the hotel is mostly deserted due to higher waves and rougher currents than further west.
The tours advertised in the lobby are at additional cost and again, not a very good value considering the prevailing prices in Ecuador.
For now, Salinas is the type of city that you’re better off visiting on the cheap.

The rate at this hotel was over $200 per night. The experience was extremely disappointing and the "All Inclusive" feature was not a value in comparison to any other hotel we stayed in Ecuador. When we arrived we were told that the all inclusive rate was available and we could use all the facilities (internet was extra and POOR service). We were told free internet was available, we tried several location on that floor with no service.
The buffet's were a huge disappointment with dried out food and servers that were exhausted.
None of the employees were cheerful, the morale was disappointing and seemed to not be well run. The front desk had one person with large lines and the inability to make change.
Save your money for something else, this was not worth the $$$$.

They probably do but they are very snotty receptionist there that work, stay away from this hotel, many other hotels who are way far better and cheaper that have great foods and running air conditioner and also include WiFi
All inclusive includes drinks and meals; however, the included meals are only in the buffet (very poor quality) and snacks in the poolside bar (hot dogs and burgers). Depending on the number of nights you stay, they may give you a voucher for the beachside grill, which is very good food, but my experience was bad service. If you wish to eat at one of their premium restaurants, it's at an additional cost.
Saludos!
