Cocos is 'on the malecon' but really only the front office is on the Malecon. I knew this before booking, so it was not a problem for me. The room was adequate with sleeping arrangements for three, as ordered. There was a fridge in the room, the shower was warm (not hot, but warm enough), towels, and blankets on the... More

Absolutely awful experience at Cocos Hotel. We stayed here over New Years, and ended up booking the only room available online (a triple room). When we arrived, we were taken to a small room at the very back of the hotel, with only a bed in the room (a double room). We considered staying in the small room, but upon... More

When we seen the pictures with a summary of amenities we got excited. We were highly disappointed considering the restaurant no longer exists, no bar despite the great view from their patio. The guy who checked us in was nice but the girl must really hate her job. No pressure in the shower and the room was tiny. 1980s TV,... More

This is a clean, basic hotel directly on the boardwalk. The WiFi works only outside in the lobby, the shower is a trickle, and hopefully you don't get an inner room with no window. They also demand their money up front. You can bargain a little, but they will say it's Carnaval time etc. even when it's the following week.... More

My wife and I stayed here on January 2nd of this year for one night. My first impressions started at the desk when the receptionist had no way to confirm our deposit that we sent as requested and to show that we paid in full. After about half an hour or more, we finally got the key to the room.... More

Rocío the owner and her staff are very friendly and warm. They know all the surroundings. Rooms are comfortable, with a/c, hot water and cable TV. The best is the WIFI connection I could work without any issues.

In a sea of overpriced hotels and hostels in Salinas, Cocos is a great option. The location of the hotel couldn’t be better - right on the Malecon across from the beach, steps away from all the restaurants and shops. Although the amenities are basic, considering that the room rates are half of other hotels, we didn't mind that it... More

The rooms need to be painted and those showers were one step up from a "suicide shower". While they had a decent staff, front desk area with nice seating to hang out across from the beach, those rooms were depressing! We were afraid to put our heads on those old pillows. The AC worked well. If we were to stay... More

A 2 circle ranking is only due to location and that I have stayed in significantly worse! They place was clean but had a strange odor. Most of the staff were unhelpful if you had questions. I agree with others that it seemed they just want your Money. We always had to ask for toilet paper and they charged for... More

We moved from Hotel Las Olas to this hostal for a few reasons. Better location (at the boulevard with terrace with seaview), cleaner and more cosy rooms and the staff was a little bit more friendly. So we had a great 3 nights here. Good matresses and quiet rooms!
