As a solo traveler, Hostería Ecológica El Faro was the perfect choice. I was greeted with a warm welcome from both Julio and Gabriel who continued to make me feel like an honored guest throughout my stay. I loved the decor of my room and especially the hot shower with nice water pressure. I also appreciated the daily room refresh which is quite rare these days. The jungle-like setting and sound of chirping birds was truly magical, especially during breakfast which was also such a treat.

This place is beautiful. Wonderful service and the owner is a great guy. Had an engaging and interesting conversation with him. The view in the back is gorgeous and I love the animals. The best place to stay close to the beach and nature. I will definitely come again. Also, the food took a little while but definitely worth it. You can tell that the food is fresh and made with care.

This place is special it’s like going in to a different mystic place it reminds me of the show fantasy Island , The owner it’s so nice and if you have any problems he will get it fix sap , he gave us a tour of the area and he recommended we’re we can eat , the food at his place it’s clean and good I recumbent at least 2 nights on this place

Beautiful little hotel with great service surrounded by animals with a private beach. The ceviche de pescado is amazing! And even better when the little monkeys come to visit to the table 😍 The hotel is also a refugee for all the animals that live here!

Best Hotel with a phantasic garden full of exotic animals. Very friendly and helpful owner and pleasant personal. We enjoyed the stay and had a good relaxed time. Opposite of the Lodge is a nice restaurant with delicious meal and also very friendly service.

There is a fabulous hotel in Salinas-El Faro, an ecological lodge right on La Milina beach in Salinas. My brother-in-Law Chuck and his friend David stayed there, and it is incredibly unique and a great place to stay. It is a lodge surrounded by trees the Peacocks, a variety of other birds, squirrel monkeys, turtles, etc. Quiet for sleeping but fun in the daytime! The breakfast was absolutely delicious, great coffee, and an incredible view of the ocean from a special seating area. Great for friends, family, gatherings, and celebrations. My brother-in-Law and his friend both loved it, and I do too! I highly recommend this unique and special Ecuadorian experience when you visit Salinas-it’s one of a kind! Gabriel, the owner, is very welcoming and can also help you arrange outings in the Salinas area. English and Spanish spoken there! So don’t miss your chance to book a room!…

El Faro is AMAZING. It's like a secret garden right by the ocean. It has three common areas to sit, two with bars and one is a second floor deck with a beautiful view of the ocean. The owner Gabriel and the staff member Julio were soooo friendly the whole time. They offered pick up and to tour me to nearby popular locations for no extra charge. The breakfast was great, at other places I found it hard to get fruit but they catered to my preferences here. The rooms are so cute, they have GIANT beds and some rooms are big enough for an entire family. Another EXEPTIONAL favorite is there is wifi across the ENTIRE property. This is important to me because I was working online and needed internet access. Being able to work in my room, at the tables or in a hammock close to the beach was great. The best part is the lodge works with the Environmental Authorities to protect the animals they have here. All the exotic animals are brought to El Faro by donation and every bit of the money from your booking goes toward caring for the animals. This is especially important now, because the numbers of bookings have dropped since the pandemic. I would 100% recommend anyone to come here. I extended my stay 3 extra nights because I loved it so much, and I definitely will come back when I'm in Ecuador again.…

We loved staying at Hostería Ecológica El Faro. Great local tips, tricks, and recommendations from Gabriel, the owner. The animals were amazing - one of the little squirrel monkeys would sleep on my lap during breakfast. Pet friendly. Easy access to a quiet beach. A great place to spend a few days!

Hosteria El faro is a wonderful place. Good ambient. Friendly flora and fauna. I took my Krishna (my cockatiel) because it was her 1-year birthday. She enjoyed the place a lot and me toooo. The food is yumm at this place. If somebody is really fond of flora and fauna, I would recommend Elfaro as the best place. Mr. Gabriel, the owner, is really kind and attentive to his guests. Thank you so much. Hope to visit this place again very soon. 🎉🎉😀
