The Posada del Mar is a simple but perfect and relaxing place to stay in Puerto Ayora, just a few minutes walk from the seafront but in a quiet street. The room we had on the 1st floor was spacious with 2 bedrooms and a lounge area, and a balcony with views across the rooftops to the sea. It was simply but stylishly furnished with a large comfortable bed in the main bedroom, everything was spotlessly clean. Cecelia who owns it is so helpful offering advice on where to visit and in booking taxis. There is no dining room at the hotel, but breakfast is served at the Deli next door which owned by her daughter. The food at the deli is super, all freshly prepared with a great choice of dishes.

I stayed at this hotel for 5 nights 2 nights and then another 3. We had room 306 which was a large room with 3 beds and a balcony overlooking the harbour. The beds and room were clean and comfortable. There wasn’t a hairdryer in the room but Cecelia the owner was happy to lend me one. The bathroom was functional but could do with updating. The shower temperature was a bit hit and miss but it was so humid that a cool shower was all that was needed. The breakfast at the deli next door was amazing. I’m vegan and they catered well for me. Although there wasn’t any soya milk. Cecelia is a truly wonderful host. Nothing was too much trouble and I’d certainly recommend this hotel. The location was great too.

My wife and I stayed at Posada del Mar for three nights during our multi-island visit to the Galapagos. I would highly recommend this hotel. The location is good; a very short walk to the main beach-side strip but far enough away to be quiet. The associated restaurant, Galapagos Deli, has great breakfasts and was able to cater to my dietary restrictions. The rooms are simple but well-appointed and pleasant, with functional air conditioners if you are there during the hot season, as we were. The only downside was occasionally sketchy internet, but that seems to be the norm in Galapagos; most of the time it worked great. Finally, it is owned and operated by a local woman who was very kind and helped us whenever we had questions about town. If you are looking for a reasonably-priced, mid-range hotel that's comfortable and convenient, look no further.

Its doesn't happen often that I end up in a place where everything is perfect. The rooms, beds, balconies, breakfast where all outstanding. Most of all I appreciated the warmth and amazing service of the owner Cecilia and her friend Patricia. Hope to come back one day.

I loved this place! Excellent service, nice view of the little town, and the owner was very helpful when we had questions. It just felt like home away form home. My sister and I were there for a week. It is close to shopping, restaurants and the waterfront. Everything was very clean. It was not noisy. The owner also owns the little restaurant next door. Part of the staying at the hotel was free breakfast at her restaurant, and the food was delicious. My sister has many foods she cannot eat because of health problems, and the people at the restaurant did their best to (successfully) meet her dietary needs. There is wifi in the lobby, but not in the rooms, but I was okay with that. If I ever have the pleasure of going back, I will stay here again.
