Germania is a genuine hotel run by amazing Rafael and his family. We spent 7 nights here during our trip to Galapagos and we couldn't be happier with our choice. After we provided Rafael with our flight details he happily picked us up at the airport and drove us the 40 minutes or so to Puerto Ayora for only $15/pp....

We stayed here for 9 days while visiting the Galapagos. Clean, comfortable rooms and linens, fresh towels and a hot shower. The staff was very friendly, but seemed a little put-off by the fact that we didn't arrange any tours through them. The room had air-conditioning, which was great because it's very humid in Puerto Ayora. Breakfast wasn't included, which...

The place is kept clean and the owners are very sweet. The air conditioner was heavenly since we were just there in May. They have at least one room with a sink (in addition to one in each private bathroom) and all rooms seem to have a small refrigerator, which we found very useful. For the price and location, we...

We stayed 4 nights, we just wanted somewhere cheap but comfortable and when we were planning the trip there wasn't much available in the price bracket. The room was clean, a bit dark because the property next door had gone upwards and blocked the view. However we didn't find this a problem as the room being at the back was...

Disappointing, shabby room, unpleasant to be in. Paid 40 dollars, as solo traveler, stayed one night and escaped to a superb B&B, for the same price, 2 houses away - Capitan Max -the best place I slept in in Ecuador, which I will review separately. Back to Germania - I asked for an inside room to avoid the noise from...

The room was very big and the bed is so comfortable. Everything was nice and clean. Shower has hot water and there is aircon in the room. Location is great, a 3 minute walk from the harbour and there is a large supermarket that has delicious croissants and breadrolls for your breakfast. Restaurants are also very close. It's right up...

At 50$ a night in expensive puerto Ayora this place is great. Nothing fancy but the essential is there - comfortable space, hot water, air con. We had two rooms, one was quite old the other pretty new. Wifi super slow. Location close to amenities.

We stayed here for two nights after a 5-day cruise. It was really easy to walk from here to Tortuga Bay and the little mangrove sanctuary - worth the 15 minute walk or so if you have time to kill. The location is great - it's nice to be off of the main street, but very close to walk. The...

The main issue as others have noted is the traffic noise. This budget hotel is located just two blocks from the main shopping/restaurant area but somehow is on the corner where it seems all the local traffic is turning so there is constant noise. I had my window open - then I shut it and the noise was exactly the...
