We stayed at the Angemeyer in May of 2014 and had a terrific time! We went away for a week to go on a cruise, but returned before departing the Galapagos; It was like coming home! There are so many recommendations to go on a cruise while in the Galapagos, but I think I would have been happier staying at... More

Our room had a very nice view of the harbor (in the tower), but you needed to climb several flights of steps (no elevator to that part). You should be aware that the hotel is across the harbor from the town, so if you wanted to do anything in town, you would need to get a water taxi. The hotel... More

The hotel is located across the bay from Peurto Ayora, a pleasant two minute, $0.60 deal away. The facilities and comforts are quite basic but, considering their history and wear, charming. The food was quite good too and certainly worth staying in to dine on terrace. My only serious complaint was that the receptionist tried twice to make me doubt... More

Our first stay was at Finch Bay and we were less than overwhelmed (even if they have a pool). This was much, much better - you can feel the German heritage in the hotel as everything is well thought out, neat, bright and tidy. Great views, excellent hotel rooms, fantastic service. I wish all of the hotels in the Galapagos... More

We enjoyed our stay here. The best parts of this hotel for us were the room with amazing view of the harbor and the included breakfast Buffet with great staff. When eating, you can look into the harbor and see all kinds of fish, birds, and iguanas paddling around. The bathroom was also very clean with hot water. The hotel is... More

I stayed with my cousin in the Shark room for 4 nights in Feburary 2015. The Shark room is a very nice room with one king and one queen bed, and one bathroom. Everything works great, and the room can easily handel 2-3 people. The Shark room is located on the ground floor and has no adjoining rooms, almost like... More

The 3rd level spacious, modern room with great view of the bay and the town; excellent breakfast and dining; super attentive/helpful staff; the perfect place to enjoy Santa Cruz and the surrounding islands, do not miss the must see daily tour to Isla Bartolome OR when flying in or out of the Galapagos via Isla Baltra. A lovely, up to date waterside hotel that is quite comfortable with a full service restaurant and bar. Rooms was very tastefully decorated and the food service and menu selections were excellent. Great comfort and value while island hopping the Galapagos.

Very nice room. There is a nice balcony that looks out on the harbor. The restaurant also has great harbor views. The restaurant ranks in the bottom third on TripAdvisor, but good food for a package deal. The wait staff speaks passable English. The reception people all speak excellent English and are very helpful. Bartenders are good as we work... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
We are situated right at the waterfront, which provides a splendid view of the bay and the interior of the island of Santa Cruz – as well as a convenient place for taking a swim. The final phase of construction was finished in 2009, and our hotel is a natural first-choice for quality travellers. A short 100 meter walk along a path takes you to a small beach. There is an ocean view from 13 of the 16 rooms. Due to the restrictions of the National Park it is not possible to walk to the hotel. Instead it can easily be reached by a 2-minute water-taxi ride right to our door. We have a beautiful wooden deck built out over the water where we serve lunches as well as dinner by candlelight. From the deck we often see sea turtles, sea lions and iguanas swimming past. Pelicans, frigate birds and blue-footed boobies are always our visitors. We offer full bar service as well. ... more   less
