A new management team made of this place a paradise. If you are looking for a calm place, close enough from the center but far enough to escape the noise at night and morning, very very clean, with a swimming pool, large rooms and shower, a very good breakfast with eggs/ hot bread / fresh juice and always a surprise... We stood here in November 2015. Was a family trip consisting of myself and my husband and my two children. The minute we arrived the host was not helpful at all, we asked about excursions and activities and she said they were all booked up and there was nothing for us to do. The room was not ready so we... More

The lodge (Red Mangrove) uses the dive center as an overflow during peak season. You will have to walk 4 blocks to get breakfast and meals, to get your laundry, and to have internet. If there is a Diving Instruction session when you are there, you'll wake up to the sound of it....... Of interest: shower have a very special... More

This was our least favorite hotel in the Galapagos. Luckily I got a very good rate on hotels.com for $50 per night with breakfast, but even then I would have stayed elsewhere. (see my other review for a much better place to stay in Puerto Ayora) The room we were initially put in had a double and a twin bed,... More

I think that Red Mangrove was probably a great establishment a couple years back but grew too quickly over the past years due in part to excellent reviews on Trip Advisor. They did not nearly live up to their reputation per my experience, and I stayed at both the Divers Lodge and the Isabela Island location. It started when I... More

This place is set in a Mangrove Swamp and has a very cool vibe with an excellent view of the water, with cute little seals who are playful around the dock. We had a few drinks here, but just for fun checked the rates( we did not stay here). The price for a one night stay was 735.00 dollars, i... More

Our experience in the divers lodge of red mangrove was not good. It was our most expensive hotel from our holiday, so we were really looking forward to it, but they let us down. Firstlt to our surprise we were booked at a secondary location, and for everythign we had to walk to the main location, check in, check out,... More

We are just checking out of red mangrove right now. We were here for 3 nights. I booked through easytobook.com the Red Mangrove Adventura Lodge for 2 adults. After the bus dropped us off in town centre, there were no cabs to be found whatsoever (apparently that is normal here). We walked pulling our suitcases, asking another hotels where red... More

We were very unlucky with our stay at this hotel. We got a great price on booking.com however I would not have been happy paying more than 70/night for this hotel. The room and building are quite nice, the breakfast was good but very small and the price for an extra was $24/plate. Where we were most disappointed was regarding... More

I thought that the property was very lovely, there was a central garden with a water feature, the beds were comfortable and it was a quiet location. These are the reasons I did not give it a 5: It was the only place in Ecuador where the staff did not "bend over backwards" for you. It was the only place... More
