We stayed here a night after leaving our cruise ship and before flying back to Quito. Excellent hiking (after the tour and the Interpretation Center which was fascinating) and the funniest sea lion colony imaginable! They are everywhere including park benches. The shop owners are very friendly and good restaurants abound. A very walkable town and were we there longer, we would have rented bikes. Worth getting a room with water view. They were remodeling so our breakfast was served down the street at a lovely street cafe with excellent food. Small and personal, nicely decorated white stucco. So much more charming than some of the bigger modern hotels on the boardwalk. There is a patio outside some rooms where I enjoyed a cup of tea and watching boats and tourists walk by. Thee are sea lions everywhere as well as herons and other wildlife. We just missed seeing a lion mom give birth on the beach at night after dinner while we were enjoying an evening stroll

Loved this hotel and didn't give it 5-stars only because of electric outlet issues. The location is fabulous, right on the harbor close to many good restaurants. The rooms are comfortable, the size sufficient and bathrooms are above par for San Cristobal. You'll get a warm shower. There is a beautiful common deck overlooking the scenic harbor where the sea lions will congregate taking up spots along the rock wall and the benches on the piers. Sorry, travelers but the sea lions get first dibs as do the marine iguanas (as it should be) on seating areas. The only issue with the hotel were the electric outlets - there were only 2 with two outlets each. Two of the outlet were dead and a third would not hold a plug while the fourth was used by the refridgerator. I managed by unplugging the refridgerator to plug in and charge my phone, laptop and to use the electric hot water pot. You should also be aware that the internet is pretty poor - not the hotel's fault but mentioning it so you are aware. This hotel is probably one of the best, if not the best, in San Cristobal. If you are staying in the room named Floreana and you need electric outlets, check to be sure they are working.

My family of four stayed here for two nights in an ocean view room (Genovesa) on the second floor with a double bed and two twin beds. First, the significant pros: You cannot beat the location. The hotel is on the main strip directly across from the dock. For one of our tours, which met at the dock, the agency told us to just sit on the balcony at the hotel and they would wave up when they were ready for us. The rooms and the entire hotel are uniquely decorated with a Mediterranean vibe (see photos). The owners obviously put great effort into making sure this is not a cookie-cutter hotel. The restaurant on the first floor serves the included breakfast. You order from one of the three tasty breakfast platters on the restaurant menu (each includes eggs, fruit, coffee and juice, with either waffles, toast or plantain). There is a dispenser with drinking water in the lobby from which you can fill water bottles. There is a lock box in the room, but you need to bring your own lock. We used a luggage lock - anything bigger would not fit. The air conditioning worked well. The room has a refrigerator and coffee pot. There was adequate hot water in the shower but only if you know how to use it and there are no instructions. The shower turns on with a single knob. To get hot water, you turn the knob just enough to get the water going. If you turn it further, it mixes in cold water. We took cold showers the first day until we figured it out. The cons, unfortunately, are significant: The restaurant on the first floor is popular in the evening. If you want to go to sleep early you have to contend with music and voices from the restaurant by using ear plugs and running the noisy air conditioner to create white noise. The only way to get air into the room is to open the glass panel front door - the windows on either side of the door don't open. Since you don't want to leave the front door open while you sleep, the only option is to run the air conditioner (which, as mentioned, you have to do anyway to cover up the restaurant noise if you want to turn in early), even if it is cool outside with a nice ocean breeze. Basically, the design of the door/windows wastes the prime location, not to mention wasting electricity by forcing you to run the air conditioner on an island where they are trying to conserve resources. The bed was not comfortable. I woke up repeatedly both nights with pains in my back. Given those drawbacks, I would choose a different property if I ever had the good fortune to return to San Cristobal.

Location location location. The room had plenty of space. A safe to store valuables. The water pressure was good, unlike what I had read earlier. Very safe area. The owner lives on 3rd floor and she was very nice. Was able to provide lot of info about the area. I can't stress how good the location was. The room had AC, 5 beds, fans, storage for luggage, small kitchenette with fridge, small TV. There's some room for improvement, like the Wifi. I hated the super slow WiFi. I don't think it was an island thing. We went to other restaurants around and WiFi there was just fine. The breakfast is provided in the restaurant downstairs (independent establishment with a complimentary setup with hotel). It sucked! The waffles were soggy and half cooked. The coffee- meh. We opted to forego our free breakfast following morning and instead went to Muyu ( highly recommended). One more thing I would suggest to the hotel is, please have a hook in the bathroom to hang clothes. Overall, a wonderful stay. Wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

Worst and overpriced cappucchino. Slow service. Waitress intentionally tried to overcharge us for 10 USD. Location is very nice next to the sea. This place has lots of potential but with better and honest service.
