The owners are very kind and sweet. The food was very good with ingredients home made. We enjoyed the experience of living in a farm around the nature. You can find silvestre animals, plants and nice dogs. We would like to go back soon.

Spent a week here and was impressed with the comforts, the rustic amenities of the historic hacienda, the friendly owners and staff who attended to every need. The organic, gourmet food is almost entirely grown on the hacienda itself and is prepared with creativity and artistry. Wonderful use of crunchy chia and amaranth seeds in salads, morning yoghurt, on fruit, and coating on trout. Enjoy the wine too! Rooms are comfortable and very clean, some with spectacular views of Imbabura and the Cotacachi valley. The owners are extraordinarily attentive, friendly and generous with their time and attention to guest needs. Horses are affordably available to explore the 400 acre hacienda and nearby lake Cuicocha. One caution: the route to the hacienda can be difficult to navigate on the first trip out, so if you have a rental car, it would probably be worthwhile hiring a taxi in Quiroga to lead you to the hacienda ... it's about 15 minutes outside Quiroga, on unpaved dirt/rock roadways. Bumpy, but definitely worth it!

The bed was the most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept in. The staff was nowhere to be found. The room was very dirty and the bathroom smelled like mold. There is no heater as well which makes the room bitterly cold at night.

We were greeted with such warmth by the family that operates this hacienda. Mamma was an amazing chef and Pappa gave us an interesting tour of the 1000 acre property. We met several members of the family and all were lovely. We really enjoyed our time at the hacienda. Our room was lovely and the entire stay was a welcome break from the standard hotels and hostels. The hacienda was way off the beaten path. We had fun exploring the grounds, picking berries, playing with puppies and seeing alpacas and other farm critters. Thank you for a wonderful memory!

From the moment you arrive you are warmly welcomed and treated as part of the family. The hacienda is beautiful and you can enjoy alpacas, horses, and blackberries. The owners are attentive to your any need. The food in the restaurant is local and organic. It is lovingly prepared by Chelita the owner. The results are delicious. You can't ask for a more peaceful and tranquil setting in the majestic Andes. Highly recomendad for a weekend getaway from Quito.

The road to the hacienda is a bit bumpy, and makes you very curious. But the reward is amazing. Hostess Chelita and host Rosendo are one of the most attentive and nicest hoteliers we have experienced in Ecuador. The lit up the fire-place, Chelita cooks a very tasteful and original meal, makes an even better breakfast for you. Rosendo likes to tell about the hacienda, likes to show you around. When we stayed, Chilita's nephews were also there, we enjoyed a ride on the hoarse, played football with the children. We enjoyed every minute in the hacienda. We felt like family to Chelita and Rosendo. Thanks for every minute in San Isidro. Jan, Joep, Ingrid, Alexandra and Michaela (from the Netherlands and Belgium).

"Excellent for 200 year old historical working finca (farm); but not a typical hotel."
Family run by people who seem to have hospitality in their genes. he Hacienda has been updated without distracting from its roots; many artifacts still in use and on display. Totally quiet, great views. Food is mostly organic, often from the farm; with wonderful recipes and artistic presentation. Turn down service worthy of high-end private resorts. Full tours and even "work" available with the animals if you wish. If this is your thing, you will swoon; but do not expect to compare with a typical hotel/resort.
Note, we booked with Booking.com who gave totally wrong prices; it was per person, not per room--except the "matrimonial suite" which was a bit less for two--but still 50% more than what booking.com showed. Be prepared for low beams, little heat, but great hot water bottles (part of turn-down service) that were still warm in the morning!

We discovered the hacienda with luck. It's in the middle of beautiful mountains, next to an important touristic spots (Laguna de cuicocha). The house is really beautiful, from the furniture to arts on the walls. The patio is refreshing and everything is set to make you feel very comfortable. We met the owner who is incredibly nice, we spent a full day with him discovering all the treasure of the house. He and his family are really kind. We had a amazing horse riding in the countryside. The view was astonishing. We definitely recommend this hotel for everything: location, rooms, food (organic from the garden), and specially for the family itself!!!

The Hacienda offers a lunch special at certain times. For $15 per person, including gratuity and tax, we enjoyed a delicous pepper stuffed with chicken and coated with red pepper coulis, langoustines with coconut crust, yuca balls, stuffed tomato and several vegetables followed by a mora (blackberry) mousse. The hacienda is decorated with many interesting pieces, furniture, and artwork relating to the hacienda's past and current activities. Although we were not overnight guests, the rooms looked comfortable and attractive. The property also has an organic garden, chickens, geese, alpacas, dogs, and Spanish/Ecuadorian horses. The lovely house and gardens is on the top of a hill with fantastic views. The family was welcoming and gracious and we enjoyed every minute of our visit. The road to the hacienda is long, windey, and rural but the taxi drivers are used to it and the sights are interesting. It is well worth the trip there.

It is a family farm that has a bar and restaurant service. It does not have TV in the rooms, because our guests come to enjoy the landscape, the forest and the animals that walk along our 280 hectares.
