Can’t understand previous dodgy reviews. We were moved here from the Astoria that is not yet open due to lack of bookings Covid related. So happy we did. The hotel has been beautifully restored. It is spotlessly clean, the room spacious and comfortable. Quality linen and towels, wonderful water pressure, plenty of hot water. Excellent WiFi. Very pleasant helpful reception staff. Good position overlooking the park towards the sea. We have a super room with balcony looking out towards the sea. We were offered a buffet dinner for 12 Euro per head. Which wasn’t gourmet but was perfectly adequate and good value. We paid Euro 86 for the night which represented fantastic value for money but I did notice that this morning the price has upped to Euro 170, which is probably more like the prices other places are charging....too steep for me! Breakfast was very good, great selection of hot and cold, sweet and savoury, tables all distant from each other. I would definitely stay here again. Parking is limited on the hotel premises and cost 15Kn but there is a car park just above the hotel so no problem parking. The only detractor is that the hotel is a little noisy from the road ... but maybe that’s only the sea side and behind is quieter.

The room, simplest one, is better than it looks in the pictures. It was a good surprise. The historical building keeps the traditional architecture adding all nowadays facilities. The staff is very competent, always present in a good mood ready to help. They are a big plus for the Bristol. The location is perfect! Very food breakfast. It is a true pet friendly hotel. Definitely I recommend!

Hotel is basic and clean. Location is what it makes it all worth. Parking is a mess in this area, however great parking lot is located just above the hotel. Staff needs to be trained in customer service. Very complacent and old fashioned. Rooms are clean and super basic. Spa seems to be very good and very affordable with prices.

Being a hotelier working in a luxury hotel, I am totally disappointed and unable to understand how can a so called 4* star provide such lousy service. I am a solo female traveler. I took a bus to Opatija but the bus driver did not stop at the bus station and no announcement was made when the bus simply stopped at the road side in Opatija, I missed the stop and went all the way to Labin on Christmas Eve. No Uber, taxi or bus was available in Labin that night. I called the hotel to ask for help. The lady receptionist who answered my call showed no compassion at all and she even questioned me by saying "why didn't you do research on how to get to the hotel?". She was "kind" enough to try and help to get a taxi for me but instead of calling me back, she told me to call her back in 15 minutes to follow up with her. Who is the guest here? I was obviously scared and worried as a solo female traveler waiting alone at the quiet & dark bus stop in Labin, the receptionist's attitude made me feel even worse. I called her back to "follow up" with her, she told me that she has contacted a driver to pick me up but insisted me to give the driver a call. I had no pen and paper to write down the phone number, the receptionist literally told me: "I am doing you a personal favour by getting a driver to go there, this is not the hotel's job. You either accept it or you don't. Now you have no pen and paper, if you don't call the driver, I cannot help you." I knew this hotel is horrible even before I arrived because of her. It does not even have the service standard of a budget hotel in any South East Asian countries. No compassion, not helpful, she should not work in service line at all. This hotel isn't a 4* hotel, it should not even be 2* star. My honest advice is to train your staff on how to be a "decent" human being first, before letting them go and face guests. This is by far the worse service I have experienced in lodging industry.
