Great position right on the front. Very clean, comfortable, friendly hotel with nice staff. Half board is a really good deal. Worth getting rooms with sea view as they have picture windows, but please note that none of the rooms have balconies. Opatija is an attractive, smart town.
Hotel very good, had intended to have B&B however the food was so good we only ate out twice. Hotel in lovely position ,right on the front ,sun beds and parosasols provided f.o c . We were on the top floor with wonderful sea views.
Horrible hotel, not 4 stars, 3 hardly, 2 stars in reality. For example so called Spa zone are two hot little rooms from 1980...no relax room.. Rooms are clean but strange smell in it.. Older staff from socializam time.. Overall that hotel will never see us again.
Pros: location, good size of room, and great air conditioning. We had a view room. There is an indoor salt water pool with large windows and a terrace, as well as their own seaside access which is very nice. Cons: They include a breakfast buffet, and we were offered a dinner buffet at a tiny cost included. However-beware. The food is fine, but the layout is horrible, the food stations are all packed together-rather than spread out, and it is extremely packed and difficult to navigate-and it’s frustrating. The staff isn’t very accommodating most of the time. And the pour of our glasses of Prosecco was minuscule-AND, even though I ordered the glasses of Prosecco, and asked for a glass of tap water as well, but the waiter refused to give me a glass of water with my dinner, and insisted that I should buy a bottled water. This is outrageous. If I make the trek to Opatija again, I’ll look for another resort- and maybe come at a off season so that it is less packed with bodies.…
My fiancée and I were supposed to spend 3 nights at this hotel but decided to shorten our stay due to all the negative things we found. The hotel offers only 14 parking spots (which you have to pay) and of course they're all always booked. Therefore the option is to pay 20euros/24h in a private parking nearby the hotel . We had a room with a wonderful view (that I must say, they have a wonderful location!) but it was old and dirt-ish: there is mold in the bathtub and water stains on the ceiling and URINE SMELL came out from the toilet. Most importantly, we were disappointed in the food. The hotel web site describe their buffet as one containing "gluten free food " - well, it doesn't! And the food is horrible. This hotel does not qualify as a 4 star hotel in our opinion!!
I spent there a few days at Xmas time - there's nice, mild weather in Opatija that tiime of the year. I could catch the last parkking place belonged to the hotel - in Opatija parking is a big issue; so it was not cheap at all, but comfortable to leave the car in the hotel's parking place. A decent 4*, comfy bed, meals were ok. Hotel was full with elderly people, hardly any guest below 60, was strange a bit. Swimming pool area nice, with a wiev for the sea. However, no more service included (sauna etc. - it was not even in use). Staff was nice and helpful. All in all, I spent a pleasant 4 days there, it was worth for the money I paid.
I am sorry to say the Kristal has seen better days.We have stayed there three times and have fond memories ,but this year was so disappointing .Shabby ,run down and once again no air conditioning !.Temp was 33degrees This happened last year for a few days but in June 2019 there was none all week .As for food ,breakfast good but dinner was awful .Fatty meat and tasteless .So sorry but we have said our goodbyes to the Krista
Staying here on business which is a relief, had I been here with family we’d have moved If you like or can remember what a 1970’s 1980’s Scottish hotel was like this is the place for you Drab Drab Drab!!!!! Decor is terribly dated Restaurant food is appalling, be it breakfast or dinner, absolutely sub standard food I’m here for four weeks, the room I can cope with but I will eat out each night at Ruzmarin which I can’t recommend highly enough Staff are helpful The wellness centre is small but a plus More to follow!!!!!!
My wife and I stay two nights here. The process to register is quite long. They hold our passports for over one hour to fill up some data, but they allow us to enter our room beforehand. The room is clean and large. The hotel is on the beachside, so we have beautiful sea views. The wifi is fairy good. The breakfast has variety of food. Just one pitfall we’d like to mention, there is no hot water pot. No coffee and tea or even a bottle of water in our room.
Great location, clean room, excellent view, friendly stuff. Food was very good, especially Easter breakfast and dinner, but I suggest coming early on dinner because later food is overcooked. Wellness is not on 4 star level (only 2 saunas, no tea, and pool is ok, but needs adaptation). Parking is HRK 75 per day.
