Very nice and stylish hotel with lots of charm. Our room was in the Villa Amalia next door, which was very spacious and had a large balcony with a sea view. Unfortunately, the music in the beach club next door was very loud on all 3 evenings, so that unfortunately we couldn't get any sleep and couldn't open the window.
The hotel's own beach is very well maintained and equipped with comfortable loungers. Unfortunately, these are usually occupied first thing in the morning or reserved by guests with towels who often don't show up for several hours. More loungers clearly need to be made available for the number of hotel guests, and there is space.
The staff were generally friendly and polite. But we were particularly impressed by the service of the breakfast waiter Arnel, who made breakfast an absolute highlight for us with his helpfulness and friendliness.
The breakfast buffet itself also leaves nothing to be desired.
We definitely want to come back.

We celebrated our wedding in the Kvarner Crystal Hall and booked a suite for 2 weeks. We had some communication difficulties at the beginning, but these were all resolved. When we arrived, all the hotel staff already knew that we were the bride and groom and we were treated accordingly. All of our wishes were fulfilled and the food was very varied and of the highest quality. There is a little bit of parking space, but the hotel staff and the hotel manager tried to accommodate all of my guests. We had a wonderful time in Kvarner and can therefore say that we will definitely come back! Thank you to all the staff and the hotel manager for making our stay and our wedding unforgettable.

Great hotel we visited in October 2024, so in the postseason. The atmosphere is fantastic, as is the breakfast on the very spacious terrace!! Even the dinner, accompanied by a very friendly superior, was excellent!
The rooms are great, the staff is very friendly and always very eager to please the guest!
There would be criticism at best regarding the limited parking in front of the hotel; beware of the very narrow access to the alternate parking lot! Better a 2. Take a person for instruction if your car does not have a front camera or similar ...

The hotel is very well maintained. The staff at reception are very friendly, the waiters and cleaning ladies are mostly very unfriendly and don't even say hello. There is a plague of pigeons at breakfast on the terrace. It rained in our room and the floor was completely covered in dirt. The price-performance ratio is far too expensive. We only booked with breakfast. The parking spaces are also far too expensive. The cars are all parked outside and cost €25.00 per day. The hotel bellboys are very nice and accommodating and help with the luggage. The town itself is very beautiful and well maintained, but everything is overpriced... for example, a scoop of ice cream costs between €2.00 and €2.50.

We included Opatija in our trip to Istria due to lovely descriptions in travel books. The Hotel Kvarner has lots of history, and I would recommend both a trip to Opatija and this hotel. We debated for quite a while between this hotel and another across the street from the sea, and are so happy that we chose this one. Early morning swimming in the sea, apart from the crowds at the public swimming area, were peaceful and lovely. Breakfast on the beautiful patio was a treat, and of course evening drinks there were equally as beautiful. The grounds are pleasant, and the hotel is central for walking through nearby gardens and getting to shops and restaurants. There is on-site parking, but only enough for half of the guests. Garage Slatina is just down the street if needed, and really not an inconvenience. The staff could not have been more kind. There is send-out laundry service, but no self-service laundry facilities. Some areas were a little outdated, but honestly that was part of the charm. We wish we'd had more time here. Give yourself enough time to relax and enjoy!

Fantastic and beautiful place to stay but has massive staff problems..firstly we went for lunch and waited over 1 hour for service and the food to arrive, now I'm not blaming the guy who served us as he was massively under pressure due to the lack of help he was given..secondly the waiting service at the pool and beach is non existent just no-one to get a drink from..why its so hot ...???? Thirty only one person on reception so I had to wait half an hour for the person in front to be dealt with before I could ask a simple question. Forth the cleaning of the room the dirty glasses where left in from the night before and non of the bins emptied..come on its such a beautiful hotel and just simple things not happening to make it perfect..sorry lastly the sun moved so we moved our beds to follow it, a lady ran out telling us it wasn't allowed to move the beds..if I'm paying 200 euros for a hotel per night that's not what I want to hear...rant over sort it out.!!!

The location can’t be beat. On the ocean, in the town center, but set back from the Main Street so it’s not too annoyingly loud when you try to sleep. The bed was very comfortable, and the room was spacious. There is no downside to this place.
The food and beverage at the hotel is also fantastic. It’s nice to get out and explore, but if you just want to chill and eat at the hotel it has great options.
The pool is very nice, and so is the deck area. I highly recommend this property, and the entire city actually.
