Just came back from a sad visit to Bally’s Park Place. I had not been there in over 20 years, and the deterioration on the property was remarkable. I booked a room for $1,500 for an extended 3 night weekend. When I arrived at the hotel entrance, I discovered that despite booking a room in the tower for such price, I was not entitled to valet parking. Saddled down with luggage, fired from a 4 hour drive, slipping a $20 bill to the attendant got me the parking. The 45th floor room, in their luxury tower, was in disrepair. The carpet was stained and worn. In fact, in multiple locations throughout the building, carpets were worn out and needed replacement. Over the king sized bed were two fingerprints, indented into the hard cushions at the head. Fingerprints were also noticeable on the inside of an elevator door, and during the three days I was there, never cleaned. It was clear what had gone on in that room by the fingerprints before we got there, and I hope the prior couple had fun, but I really didn’t need to see the evidence of the deed. I wonder how long it had been there. In the bathroom, the stool for the vanity was gone. The safe had been left open and locked, not usable. The doors covering the TV did not shut cleanly all the way, the wooden cabinet was worn. On the windows, the sill was browned with water damage. In a tall tower nowadays, considering what happened to the city do in Florida, I wonder about the water damage to the almost 50 floor tall tower over the years, and wonder how good their maintenance of the structure has been. I understand they are I financial straits, and there seems to be a proposal to clean it up. I hope they do. It’s a sad building now, with the least activity of any casino on the boardwalk. If they fix it up to the standard they should have maintained, perhaps I will come back some day, but it needs the investment of many millions. The only positive was Guy Fieri’s chop house, a fine restaurant which should serve as an example of what this place could be. I wonder, though, if Guy Fieri is aware of the hire condition he has chosen to partner with. Perhaps if he has any influence perhaps he can help motivate them to once again make it a jewel of the Boardwalk, instead of initiating a highway motor lodge.…
Other than the view the room has not been updated since the 80"s, dirt on the carpet all along the corners. They still have Gold fixtures in the bathroom along with a telephone by toilet. You can't make this stuff up.....
Arrived late evening for check in with family & check in was a breeze. Front desk agent was very friendly & efficient. A quick ride on the elevator brought us to our 23rd floor double bed room which was nice enough. It was very strange since our room number was 2320, but it was joined to another room numbered 2347(?) At any rate, the room was clean, basic (no problem) & comfortable. Furnishings were not fancy (again, not an issue); however, we were very impressed with the comfort of the beds, the mini refrigerator (which kept our items very cold) & the shower was awesome. Along with a wall shower head, there was also a handheld option which was a definite plus! The AC was great & didn’t take long to properly cool the room & from our room we had a slightly partial view of the ocean. The majority of our view was in the direction of Borgata. For some reason one of our key cards stopped working, but a quick trip to the reception desk was all it took & we were issued two new key cards. We did gamble in the casino (no big winners unfortunately!) but we did have a great time hanging out anyway. Drink service was great as we saw the servers very frequently throughout the evening. Restrooms were very clean & well maintained. We didn’t eat in any of the restaurants this time, but we’ve eaten at Johnny Rockets numerous times in the past & have never been disappointed. We were able to earn free parking by gambling so that was a very nice perk. Overall, Bally’s is a nice place to stay if you want a clean & not very fancy place to stay & it’s right on the boardwalk which can’t be beat!…
The bed was Very comfortable and front desk staff was extremely friendly. Bathroom was super clean things light light fixtures could use a good cleaning. Overall nice room and pretty quiet. A bit disappointed with lobby bar. We purchased quite a few drinks over the several days there (over priced of course, but that is to be expected at a casino) we asked for a Pepsi for our daughter which they charged us $4 for a Pepsi from The soda gun and they do not give refills. Was a bit disappointed that they couldn’t top it off after paying that much for a gun soda. Casino is fine. Tables were crowded and they weren’t quick to open new ones. Lots of people watching opportunities. Lol.
Check in at 8pm at night and this is the room never was cleaned worst place ever. No one helped at all. Lied about everything. Calm to be booked up and was not. I travel all the time and never seen anything like this in my life
