I am a Titanium Elite member at Marriott, and want to commend every staff member that I encountered during my stay from the 19th to the 21st of July 2021. This includes the maintenance personnel. The hotel needs rennovated, the downtown area of Atlantic City has its challenges, yet the staff anticipated my needs as an out of town guest with expert professionalism. Stored my bicycles. Confirmed the operation of my air conditioning Recommended Popas Pizza at midnight (awesome) and one of the staff members even showed up at Popas....he didn't say it but I'm sure he was ensuring we had a safe experience. He even confirmed our safe entry to the elevator upon return. Marriott should be very proud of this AC staff and the people leading this customer centric team. People like the staff members at the Marriott AC Courtyard are exactly why I remain loyal to Marriott. I'm sorry that I don't have your names but I'm sure Marriott knows who it is. TW

This was the property that we selected for a two-night stay in Atlantic City, NJ. It was the highest rated property that we could find off of the Boardwalk. Our first room, #1011, had badly malfunctioning air conditioning, so we were moved into room #815. This was an accessible room at the end of the eighth-floor hallway. Security was good, with a functional peephole, latch lock, and deadbolt. The accessible features in this room were well designed. The shower wand was installed well, and had excellent pressure, and the accessible seat/bench in the bathtub was the best I've seen in a hotel property. Multiple grab bars made bathing very safe. The in-room TV was lacking. They advertised Netflix, but I couldn't seem to make it work. To me, that's not a problem, as I came to sightsee, and not to watch television. The beds were clean, with 3-piece all-white linens, and were very comfortable and soft. I slept well after a day of eating and sightseeing. The room featured an empty mini-fridge, a lamp with multiple outlets, and a microwave. There was also an in-room safe. We used the fridge to store dinner leftovers, and it worked well. If you need extra housekeeping supplies, you must pick them up yourself, due to pandemic restrictions. If you are a single traveler or even a couple, this is no problem. There are many mixed TA reviews regarding this property. Aside from the AC issue, we really felt quite safe, even though the neighborhood (and city) can be sketchy after dark. Parking costs $15 USD / day. Loyalty program members may be able to have the charge removed. We did not pay for parking in our party because our room had to be changed.

My wife and I were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary in AC. We're Bonvoy members and wanted to stay 2 weekend nights close to the Casinos, but the Courtyard only had one night available. So our second night was booked at the Sheraton. The hotel is a nice building in a dubious neighborhood. Front desk was nice and friendly. To get to the unsecured parking lot we had to drive down a sketchy alley. As we walked toward the back lobby, the smell of pot was overwhelming. People (on property) smoking in their cars by the back door. Thankfully, we did not smell marijuana inside the hotel, like some other reviewers had complained about. The room was nice and clean. I'm surprised my wife's screams didn't wake up the entire hotel at 3am. She saw 2 roaches in the bathroom. Our room was on the fourth floor. The first thing I did was call the Sheraton to see if we could check into our room right then. Nope. All booked. We didn't call the front desk right away as we didn't want a commotion and bug spray at 3 am in our room. We left the bathroom lights on and blocked under the door with towels. My wife wouldn't use the shower the next morning due to the slow drain, thinking roaches would be floating up from the drain. I actually did see that in a movie once. "Creepshow" with EG Marshall. Anyway, I informed front desk the next morning. The staff is excellent by the way. Marriott's guest assistance team ,however. couldn't care less. They asked me what happened in an email. I replied and never heard from them again. So now you got my review for all to see. In this hotel you get two kinds of roaches. The actual bugs and whatever spent joints are left laying around. No way this should be a 40,000 point category 5 hotel.

After reading some mixed reviews, I was a bit concerned about our stay. I was pleasantly surprised (stayed mid-week; checked in Monday-checked out Thursday). Check in was a breeze, and as a Platinum member was given complimentary parking because no upgrades were available (hotel was sold out). The location was good enough...a long beach block to the boardwalk, and a good breakfast spot across the street (Perry's at Ho Jo's). For the price, and accommodations, I felt it was a good deal, and would consider it the next time I go back to AC; room was clean, staff was knowledgeable, and slept well (17th floor, the top floor). My only complaint is that the luggage carts were hard to come by at check in/ check out.....some guests simply left them on the floor they checked into, that and there isn't a pool, and the ice machine on our floor wasn't working. As for the area....there are many sketchy areas in AC...with that said, I did not feel uncomfortable walking back to the hotel late....I would say that the Florida side street is a place to avoid....walked down there on the way to Dock's (very sketchy), and was also told by the bartender at Dock's that Texas is another side street to avoid. Let me add....the even side rooms have a better view; our room (odd side) had a view of the Wyndham next door, and could see the bay side at an angle.

Arrived to a police squad directly across street in some kind of altercation. This Courtyard is in a scary neighborhood and I’m shocked that Marriott allows it’s flag here. I booked in a hurry, trusting the Marriott brand, to my disappointment. I didn’t stay the second night due to a real concern for our safety and the manager was kind about that.
