The Claridge Hotel, once known by its 1929 nickname "Skyscraper by the Sea", radiates a breathtaking Manhattanesque design situated in the prime center of the Atlantic City's boardwalk. One of the last remaining architectural masterpieces from the Boardwalk Empire Era, The Claridge Hotel housed such legends as Marilyn Monroe, Al Capone, Nucky Johnson, Princess Grace of Monaco and Frank Sinatra. The "New" Claridge Hotel will target all market segments such as leisure travelers, families, group travel and convention business. Emphasis will be placed on providing unique service amenities such as private limo transportation, shopping and golf packages, cardio health club, spectacular entertainment in the 600 seat Las Vegas style cabaret showroom and an elegant ballroom facility to host weddings and private functions. The Claridge Hotel will also appeal to casino customers who can visit the Bally's Casino conveniently connected to second floor entrance. All of our guest rooms will be completely redone and we will be introducing: •Two beautifully remodeled ballrooms for special events and meetings •New dining options • High End Art Gallery •Personalized limousine and car service We invite you to experience The Claridge Hotel

I don't like that they are hiding their historic escalators (yes I found them). I have been coming here since 1980's, and I remember the 3 floor Casino, the people mover that went to Sands/Claridge, as recently as about 2006, etc.. I remember the noodle place on floor 2 (which is still visible behind "conference room" signs). I remember the lobby floor, for example, which now has an art room which is never open. It HAD an escalator to the mezzanine but it is now stairs. Climb up those stairs and you get to the mezzanine but the escalator is blocked off. Get to mezzanine but you cant use escalator to second floor. Get to second and everything is blocked behind conference glass doors. Get to third and escalator set is blocked unless you can peel and peak behind glass covering. Ditto for 6th floor. And for some reason Pool is not open on 8th. Let's let this property regain it's full potential by opening every inch of it without hiding escalators and stuff . Also you should re open bus center. Easily findable by walking too, for us historians.

Hotel's Favorite
We had low expectations based on previous reviews, but we were very pleasantly surprised. Our room was clean, comfortable and very quiet. We checked in two hours early and found the front desk staff friendly and helpful. The valets situated at the hotel entrance were always more than happy to assist us with directions. We will definitely stay at The Claridge again. That being said there are a few suggestions, which in no way affected our enjoyable stay: - the rooms could use another lamp or light fixture -there could also be a clock - it seems unnecessary to have daily house cleaning; perhaps the house keeping staff could be put to use in other areas

Being in the wedding party of our granddaughter’s marriage at the Claridge Hotel this weekend offered a behind the scenes look at the extreme level of care and professionalism the Claridge claims to provide in its advertising. The truth is that what’s promised was overachieved by a staff that seamlessly orchestrated an event for just under 300 people. The three-day celebration began with a rehearsal dinner on Friday night, the ceremony followed by the reception on Saturday and brunch on Sunday. The initial, pre-dinner, cocktail hour took place in a beautiful, luxurious space that previously served as an art gallery. Multiple hors d’oeuvres stations were set up throughout the space, three bars were conveniently located and wait staff worked seamlessly offering both food and drink. Then on Sunday a fabulous brunch took place in The VÜE roof top bar. Everyone, from the courteous and accommodating valet parking attendants to individual food and beverage servers to the ever-present food, beverage and event managers were never out of sight to offer suggestions and directions. Those of us in the wedding party were given instructions by two very patient event managers, Lance and Jeff, resulting in a picture-perfect ceremony. While every aspect of this wedding celebration, without exaggeration, was completely over the top and confirmed by everyone in attendance, special recognition must go to Craig Johnson the head chef and his staff. If you were a foodie in attendance, you would agree that the preparation, presentation, and quality of the dinner items (just to name a few) like Chilean Sea Bass, fillet & lobster, etc, was unbelievable. To prepare, execute and serve almost 300 individual dinners flawlessly is a herculean task. Chef Craig and his team knocked it out of the park. Many thanks to the Claridge Hotel for going above and beyond in making our granddaughter’s wedding such an incredible event.

The whole hotel needs updating. While the room was just ok, the whole hotel was dirty. Everything felt damp. There was not enough maintenance to keep up with the guests. The elevator floors were wet a few times. Maybe the guests are to blame. The air conditioner in the room was so noisy, we actually thought there was a helicopter outside. The service and food at the restaurant was bad. The workers at the rooftop bar were pleasant. You have to walk a block to get to the boardwalk, past a park. You don't really want to walk past that park after dark. I can only mention one positive: the shower had great water pressure with hot water.

I had a last minute booking. This building is so beautiful and charming. The views were incredible. Book a suite, treat yourself. The elevators get packed around checkout but the staff is understanding and kind.

We had a Family Reunion at the Claridge Hotel this July 2022. The location was in the center of everything. This luxury hotel was clean, comfortable, quiet and had good service with wonderful restaurants, views of the ocean from the rooms and rooftop , exercise room, pool and arcade. Something for everyone to do and enjoy. The rooms were clean and check in was quick and easy. Shari Buyse helped us plan a detailed, elegant, fun filled 3 day event. Shari assisted in planning every detail and was always available to review any questions we had. She was helpful during the event to ensure everything went accordingly. She ensured the food was perfect, as well as, accommodated the guests with dietary restrictions. Shari helped our vision of the event to come true. All feedback from our reunion guests was that it was the best reunion ever and it was unforgettable. They commented that the food was perfect, event space and hotel was memorable, and the views were beautiful. Our guests were amazed.

Since it's the oldest hotel, former casino too, in AC it is...well...old. It only has double or king size beds. Cramming 2 adults in a double bed is not really comfortable! The facility has a moldy, stale smoke smell in common areas. My allergies let me know! The guest rooms are ok, have been updated but there's still remnants of the old in cracked walls & mold in bathroom. It's the least expensive of the boardwalk hotels & centrally located. So it's convenient. But at nearly $300 per night or more, still pretty expensive for what you get! The pool was very nice & we enjoyed an evening swim.

I would give 0 stars if possible. One of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in. The entire operation is disjointed. We were staying here for a wedding and needed to add an additional day to our stay and was told that if we wanted to stay outside of the block they would put us in a room for one night and then the following night we would need to move rooms. Then we arrive no one can tell us if the garage has in and out privileges, we were told to go find the garage staff and ask them. The room was nothing to write home about—you could be on the toilet and wash your hands at the same time and the shower was overflowing with water. This is the real kicker though, I go to checkout and the woman says to me, "Ma'am you have a smoking charge on your room, did anyone speak to you about this?" I told her no and she says security will come speak with me. So out comes this security guard with some janky-looking graph and says you were smoking in your room at 12:08 am, to which I replied that wasn't possible, I was in the casino at that time. He just looks at me and shrugs and says to dispute it with my credit card then. Great answer, am I right? So I call the event planner for the wedding and he passes me to the front desk manager, who I had to chase down for several days, and he did nothing, told me he had no power to remove a charge and that I would need to speak with security. You can imagine the shade of red I was at that point. The moral of the story, if you do stay here make sure you bring your own camera to prove you aren't smoking in their rooms or be prepared to be charged a $400 smoking fee, or just do yourself a favor and don't stay here.

If you want get the feel of the old real Atlantic City, stay at this hotel. The desk people, the bar people, the bellhops, the reservation people and the party people wee all the best and made our three day stay great. All big hotels have a glitch or two like maybe the elevator is not running fast enough or the service is slow. Be patience. We loved the convenience of the Claridge to the Boardwalk , Bally's Casino, beach and all the interesting restaurants. We had our Forbes Reunion at the hotel with about 90 people and the service , food was all great. Thanks Claridge for excellent memories.
