No complaints when it comes to the customer service, staff, or amenities. My only compliant that drops the rating is the attention to detail. For a resort casino, you should not see rusty soap trays and vents in the shower. Or uncovered holes in the wall where light fixtures used to be. Holes in bedding, patch work paint, caulk and spackle jobs. Whole the resort is making strides to update itself from being a run down place, they need to ensure those little details are fixed. Also, I was never one to like those adjoining room doors that don't insulate the noise from your neighbors to well.
Although we asked and paid for a non smoking room, our room reaked of smoke. Noise in hallways during the night kept us up. This place looks old and we couldn’t find anywhere to get a late night snack. I’m done for a while
We stayed at the Borgata across the way and had always wanted to visit the Golden Nugget. It was like night and day by the way the two establishments are handling COVID. Golden Nugget casino was run down and smelled musty. They did check temperatures. They do NOT have every other chair blocked off but instead disabled every other machine. That didn’t stop people from sitting next to each other which completely defeats the purpose of social distancing. We decided to get a players card- the employee had his nose over his mask the whole time... Saw some tweekers wandering through the place as well. Totally felt unsafe here. Won’t be back.
This is my second stay since Covid. I've always liked the nugget because it has the slots I play, and I've had a good time. My stay on 9-3-20 was good overall, but the machines I play were shut down, and the others on the last row in the smoking area all the way in the back didn't work. So I tried being flexible and found others to play. The upsetting problem was the H20 pool and hot tubs. The pool opens at 8 AM, so at 8:30 I went in only to find nothing open. When I asked I was told they'd probably be open by 9:30. Also all the hot tubs were half full and not working. I went into the casino and played on machines I didn't like, and then went back to my room. At 10:35 I went back, and found they had just opened the pool but the hot tubs, which is what I wanted were all emptied. When I asked I was told they'd probably be ready around noon. While there, 4 others inquired and were upset. To solve my problems I walked to Harrahs and played on their machines and went into their hot tubs. Management really needs to address this problem, especially since your so limited to what you can do, and advertise the H20 area, then fail to produce. I'll go back but only in hopes that things get better.…
One of the only places open during COVID-19, the Pool is a great way to spend a summer afternoon. Lots of kids when I was there, but there was an adult only shallow lounge pool and 4 hot tubs and the pool manager kept the wild kids in check. They have outdoor seating for food and beverage in the shade and the black jack tables were open there too! Excellent views of the Bay, City and Marina and the only reason it did not get an excellent rating was because of the young and irritating server who was horrible, Alexandra. Hopefully she goes on unemployment soon and if you go you will get someone else, anybody would be better than her! No I know not to order from her so I will go back before Labor Day and you should too!
