Visited again in June 2022. This was trip number 8 this year.I hate to say to say we were disappointed. Check in was very smooth. We've come to know a lot of the check in staff and sometimes we're checked in before reaching the desk. That is service. The telephone reservation people are among the nicest people you will ever speak to on the phone. They remember their customers. So much for the good. We checked in around on p.m.on a Sunday. Our room was ready but did not appear to freshly cleaned. It just lacked that fresh feeling. On the prior trip we checked and there no towels in the room. As longtime Golden nugget customers in LasVegas and Atlantic City we were surprised at the lack of detail. We needed to set the thermostat at 65 to get AC in the room. There were many machines out of service on the casino floor. I understand they are redoing the casino floor. I hope they plan to open their buffet. The Chairman Club is ok, but the buffet was better. it not gourmet, but ti was comfort food served in a clean environment. The servers in the buffet were great. We became friends with many over the years. This was the forst time noticed trash in the hallways of the hotel floors.…
GNAC isn’t trying to be something it’s not. There are negative reviews about the smell and decor, but some think it gives it charm. They have just put new rugs down so the smell is much better!! Rooms are getting dated but do the job. Beds are super soft and pillows are good. Yea the showers doors are weird but it’s so minor of a thing. Don’t forget to not overlook that GN has….some of the nicest dealers, fast drink service, and it’s quiet!! They also have 2 of the best restaurants in AC. Chart house and Vic & Anthony’s. And with the food offers, it certainly helps with the price. Parking is free. I tend to think the valet is slow so I self park. Wifi in the room is great…when it’s working. Pool is great. Best in AC. Drinks and food are great. Waitresses are great. Playing outside is wonderful on weekend. Overall it’s a super comfy place to stay Downsides…..not many food options during the day during the week. Limited number of tables but never hard to get a seat. Spa has limited hours. If you plan to spend time in room, there are only like 5 tv channels.…
Visited from another resort on a Monday. Alot of thw slot machines were shut down or out of order, and most were a higher minimum bet than expected. there were very few food selections available. Very disappointed!
I had to go to the Golden Nugget for business, and to make things more convenient, a booked a room for the night. From the moment I arrived, I was disappointed by the dated lobby. I asked for a nonsmoking room because I am very sensitive to cigarette smoke. After I checked in, I brought my bag up to my non-smoking room, and couldn't stay a minute because the room reeked of cigarette smoke. I went downstairs and asked to change rooms which they kindly did for me but the room smelled the same. I realized then that despite having nonsmoking rooms, it didn't mean people didn't smoke in the rooms. I decided that due to the cigarette smell in the rooms, I would have to leave and checked out. When I asked for a refund given the circumstances, they refused and said that they can't stop people from smoking. I left having to forfeit a nites stay and hope to never return.…
We requested a nonsmoking room but the room we got smelled like cigarettes. I called the front desk twice to have our room changed but they kept saying it’s a nonsmoking room and they will not change the room. We have a 9 month old baby and I have asthma it was a difficult night for us.
Awful expedience. Mgmt and security can’t be bothered with customer issues. And only some children are allowed in the pool and hot tub after 2 but not all. Security seems to favor some kids and not all and mgmt can’t be bothered to even listen.
I have to say I really enjoyed my stay at Golden Nugget Atlantic City. I have been coming to this property since I was a kid when it was Trump Castle. I always liked the quieter area and proximity to the Marina. When I arrived self park is free which is a benefit. Also it’s not a half mile walk to the lobby. Very crucial when coming back from a long night on the town. There were multiple restaurants/bars having happy hour. I chose Vic and Annthonys Golden Nugget which was delicious. Super fresh oysters. I met some nice people at the bar as well. Chart House looks Wonderful and will try to check it out on my next visit. The hotel is operated by Laundry’s so they decades of hospitality experience. The front desk check in was quick and easy with no wait. The clerk granted my request of a high floor with views facing the Atlantic City Boardwalk. The room was spacious and had a comfy bed, a large couch where you could see out of the windows (harrahs the windows are so high it’s hard to enjoy the view seated) The room was very clean nothing that was dusty. The lamp shades and so forth in good shape. There was a clock next to the bed that had two USB ports and a three prong plug for the computer. (I can’t tell you how many times I have to move a nightstand because USB ports don’t work or there is nowhere to plug in) After 20 minutes of getting my bearings I went down to hear the “lounge act” in the Rush Lounge that was playing eclectic material and got the mostly older crowd on the dance floor. From there off to dinner. After a night on the town my comfy and firm bed was a welcome treat (I find that at many properties I sink I to the bed and it’s hard to sleep) Beautiful sun in the morning overlooking the Marina and Atlantic City Boardwalk. I think the Golden Nugget will be my new AC home from now on!…
The room itself was nice. The bed was comfortable, the room was spacious and clean, and the bathroom was clean. Water pressure was excellent. Thermostat works. Free parking was a plus. The people were all nice and helpful. The problem is the rest of the hotel. It LOOKS pretty nice but it smells awful. A mix of cigarette smoke and cologne/bad air freshener. The lobby, the shops, and the restaurants all smelled BAD. Before you say, “well - it’s a casino,” the casino next door (begins with H) did not smell like this. If you’re not a smoker, I’d choose a different place to stay.
Although we haven't stayed at the golden nugget yet, we do love coming to Bar 46 to play video poker, enjoy a cocktail, and smoke - yes we're smokers. The bartenders always are so friendly and make us feel welcome. This trip our bartender was Frank on the morning shift. He was very friendly, courteous and professional, and a great person to talk to. As usual, our experince was great and I think Golden Nugget should be very proud of the bartenders who serve at this bar. Great big thank you to Frank on this trip!!!
I travel a few times a year to Atlantic City and have been staying at the Golden Nugget since before it was the Nugget. I truly have to say on this trip the staff from every bar, restaurant, cleaning service, check in etc. treated us with nothing but smiles and good conversation ! Truly appreciate making our Thanksgiving week special. See you next year
