The Chelsea Pub and Inn is an eclectic Victorian located less than a block from the Atlantic City Boardwalk and across the street from the Tropicana Casino. For over 30 years, visitors to Atlantic City have been enjoying drinks and food in our 24 hour pub and grill and spending nights upstairs in our conveniently located Inn.The history of our location goes back much further than our 30 years here. The building was formerly Grossman's Kosher Hotel in the Atlantic City of old.We have kept the charm of our beautiful property- with its crooked stairs and floors, enhanced by recent renovations and themed rooms, which include all the modern comforts.Come and visit us for the night, weekend, or even just a cocktail

My husband and I recently spent the weekend in Atlantic City. What a gem the Chelesea Inn is!! So much better than staying in a casino hotel. It is close to the beach, the rooms are clean and the staff was wonderful. The lobby has items from the early days of Atlantic City and really was comfortable. Also, we had a delicious breakfast in the morning. Would highly recommend staying there.

Everything you could want from a bed and breakfast. Owners/staff were beyond accommodating, super friendly and made this short say memorable.
Rooms are secure. The bathroom was renovated and felt super clean and fresh. Bed was extremely comfortable. No odors. Vet comfortable temps. And the place is just steps from the beach. You can even see the ocean from the front steps!
I'll be back !

We stayed at the Chelsea solely based on the Trip Advisor reviews and were very pleased! The room was spacious and surprisingly quiet considering we stayed in the front of the building. But it was a Wednesday night and they do provide earplugs if it gets noisy.

My favorite part was enjoying my morning coffee on the porch overlooking the garden. Great coffee - nice and strong!

I have 2 suggestions that would have improved my stay - The toiletries weren't that great - the soap came in bars about the size of a quarter -so bring your own. There was no one at the reception desk for the 11am checkout rush (I needed a receipt). We had to call down to the pub and the manager who came up appeared to be inconvenienced by our request.

The hotel is really for the young, i dont recommend it to Senior Citizens if your room is reserved on the 3rd floor. Otherwise, the rooms are clean, no telephones, no coffee maker or microwave. The front office is closed in the evenings, so make sure you have your key to go back into the hotel. The breakfast is awesome, but starts at 9am. So if you want a coffee earlier you have to go outside and walk a block away where there is a diner opened at 7am. Not a safe place to walk at night. I had a little frustration with the manager while checking in, since I had reserved 2 rooms one room for myself and my sister, and one room for my parents, my dad 87 years old my mom 80 years old. I used my credit card for $150.00 each room hold "for incidents" but the manager refused since my parents had no credit card to use for their room?? I had to change my parents room to my name on Hotels.com making waiting for the room very upsetting. Also my parents room was very small, nothing like the pictures shown on their website. As soon as you opened the door, it would hit the bed. So if you have seniors that can not walk up those 3 floors of stairs, no air conditioner in the hotel only in the bedrooms, find another hotel. I requested that my parents room to be changed to the first floor, but the manager said I would have to pay an "Upgrade" of $50.00, so we declined. Otherwise it is really for those who dont mind the inconveniences.

Stayed Labor Day weekend. Manager rude. Asked a question she turned around and talked in Spanish. Surprise lady I know Spanish to who ever you was on the phone with the whole time you was trying to check us in. Bad customer service.never go here.people outside all night over $300 for a room and you people outside yelling. I took this walked outside the front steps. Didn’t even want to go to my car.

Cute little place next to the Tropicana 2 blocks walk from the boardwalk. Free parking at the inn. Loved the morning breakfast and the area it was served. We were also able to enjoy the fenced in patio full of beautiful flowers and small trees (here you almost couldn't tell you were in AC). Renee, at the front desk was very friendly and helpful with questions and concerns. Would for sure stay here again - we had midweek stay and the Inn was so quiet. No elevators , so for those who can do a flight of stairs-request the first floor.

Just sayed at this beautiful hotel last saturday night ( May 4th) , a total of 11 of us . Ages 20-mid 40's . My son and his 4 buddies treated their moms to dinner, a concert and a stay in this hotel .However... the website was not updated to let us know that all guest had to be 21 or older. Lucklily we were still allowed to stay after we spoke with the manager.
The Chelsea Inn Is a stunner! Very Clean, smells wonderful , and the furniture and decor is to die for !!
That being said i cannot give this place the five stars it deserves, the location is horrible . Next to a parking garage and over top a 24 hour bar brings nothing but trouble. There was a bit of ruckus in the street , plenty of cops with no authority to arrest anyone. My son and nephew both were slapped in the face after aletercation with a drunk pulling into the parking lot , not looking almost hit their friend.
We Are From about 20 mins north of baltimore, not letting officers do their jobs will ruin Atlantic City ... we do NOT visit Baltimore for this reason.
And to the Chelsea Inn , the bar should really close sometime during the night , 24 hours is too much . We stopped in earlier in the day and it was a very nice establishment , however after midnight not so much.

On a recent trip to Atlantic City we decided to stay at the Chelsea instead of one of the casinos. We will be staying here from now on. We loved everything about this beautiful B&B. Great location, lovely room, and very friendly host. They have their own parking lot and even a pub downstairs.

My wife and I enjoyed 1 night at the Chelsea Pub and Inn in Atlantic City. The rooms are very cozy and comfortable. It is very affordable and reasonable. The complimentary breakfast food and coffee is delicious. We like the property and the renovations that were completed. Well managed. We recommend the Chelsea Pub and Inn to anyone looking to spend a relaxing and enjoyable get away. Tom and Donna 11/13/21

What a cool ass little hotel. Yeah, some floors are crooked. Yes, there's a 24/7 bar downstairs that was full 20 of them. But this thing has character from floor to ceiling. Cars revving by were noisier than the bar.

The bedding was great. Showers and bathroom brand new. All while the rest of the inn show it's 100+ year old age... but not in a bad way. I had a mini fridge.

5/5 stars.

Thank you for reaching out! I apologize for the delay in response and for any inconvenience caused to you. Our building was built in 1890. We meet all city and state code guidelines that were in place during the time of the business creation. We're grandfathered in under law until the building goes under a structural renovation. Only at that time would we be required (and happy to do so) to make the building handicap accessible.

is the chelsea inn under new management or just the bar?

It’s under new management, the bar is located underneath the hotel.

I actually just saw an article in the phillyvoice yesterday that explained that only the pub is temporarily closing because they are changing owners and have to shut down while the liquor license is transferred. The pub apparently only closed for a few hours for cleaning when the Facebook post went up and since no one was there to answer the phones it caused a lot of confusion.
