Like a few other reviewers we stayed at this hotel about 7 years ago and had a good stay. Sadly, this time round the experience was lacking. The location is great (as it is a mere 5 min ride to the airport, serviced by a shuttle to and from the airport every 30 mins). However, over the last few years this hotel has really gone downhill and the whole experience is now reminiscent of a budget North American motel, albeit one that charges premium prices. Check-in took a full 15 mins, as seemingly all the information had to be keyed in manually. (To be clear: we are not talking about waiting in line to check-in; we are talking about the actual check-in time). When I inquired about the delay their brush-off response was: “The government requires the information”. (For some reason, capturing the information in the system didn’t take more than 1 min at another hotel we stayed at recently in Medellin). I suspect that the hotel has not invested any money in IT and it’s still stuck in the 20th century, as highlighted by the reams of paper used as a stand for the computer monitors and the dreadful/non-existent WiFi. On the subject of investment, it is obvious that hardly any investment has been made on the property either, as the place looks really run down. What used to be a reasonably nice hotel 10 years ago, now looks old and tired: stained carpets on the hallways, marks on the walls, dated rooms and lighting, etc etc. Sleep quality was good, although we were so tired that a plane could have landed in the room next door and we would have not heard it. On a positive note, I am pleased to report, however, that room service is surprisingly efficient and that food was very very tasty. Five years ago, staying at this hotel was a no-brainer as it was right next to the airport. However, thanks to a new tunnel, traveling to Medellin’s El Poblado area (where there are plenty of hotels) now takes only about 30 mins. Unless you have a a late late arrival or a super early flight, I probably would stay somewhere else.

Count us amongst the customers that had a dirty room. Got into our room and pulled back the comforter to reveal two socks in the bed. Its too bad because otherwise the hotel seemed to be a fairly nice property. We were moved to a different room however we didn't use any of the glassware as we were concerned about the cleanliness.

We stayed at this hotel 10 years ago and we had a beautiful experience. Unfortunately, I can’t say the same this time. When we checked in, our room was dirty. The carpet had not been vacuumed, there was black mold in the shower, the mirrors were dusty and full of handprints. When we checked our beds it was obvious that the sheets had not been changed. There was hair on them and crumbs. We asked them to come and change our sheets at least. The next day, my sister and I went to meet our family at the lobby for a few hours and while we were out, one of the cleaning ladies came in our room and stole my sisters wallet with all her credit cards. They were able to look at the cameras and determine that she did come in while we were gone. The next day, the employee apparently called in sick and said she was at the hospital. That morning when we went to breakfast, we left the “no disturb “ sign out to make sure no one else came in our room. When we got back, there was someone in our room cleaning it even though we had left the sign. And finally, the morning we were checking out, they had another room under our reservation that was not ours. We hope they did what they say they were going to do and took it off from our account. We thought for sure we would receive an apology from the management but did not hear anything at all from them. The guy in charge of security did apologize but that was it. We have stayed at many hotels/resorts and have never experienced what we experienced at this beautiful hotel. Unfortunately, we will never stay here again. One last thing, the safe was not in working conditions.

I was looking forward to the spa services and a great room. When we arrived, our sheets were still damp and there was a bar of soap under the sink with its own puddle. Turns out they have NO spa services on Tues (one of the main reason I chose the hotel. Would have been nice if this was prevalently advertised. They also offered an 'upgrade' for about 180000 pesos (over $50). The upgrade would include a king. bed and some discounts (including the spa, which is closed). There is no potable water offered for free. Incredible, wasteful, and a further source of revenue for the hotel. We did get a new room in good shape. I would not recommend this hotel. Oh, and the sauna is broken.

Nice decoration even the building is not new; unbelievable breakfast; the food is beyond our expectations. We enjoy an exceptional service; very modern and comfortable rooms.
