This hotel is tucked into the fourth floor of a high rise condo building and has approximately 50 rooms. It is constructed around a horseshoe courtyard; half of which is the “dune garden”, which consists of a big dump of sand and some grasses. The other half is the pool area. The ocean is viewed there through a large plexiglass barrier. Rooms either look out over the dune garden — with the large high rise looming behind it — or have a partial ocean view where the ocean can be seen across a large parking lot. The property is constructed so that the pool area and the dune garden are windy (we later heard about the Fourth Avenue Wind Tunnel effect). The staff will say it’s the weather, but the pool area at a nearby oceanfront hotel had no such wind effect on a day with equal mph winds. We appreciated being able to open the room’s sliding glass door to let in fresh air, but the howling wind due to the room across the hall having their door open at the same time was more than we could bear. (One staff member told us that the door lacked a lip between the frame and the floor, hence the howling wind effect. Unlike other reviewers, we found the staff pleasant, and Alexis in particular is truly a treasure). The beach across from the hotel is public, but hotel guests must buy their own beach tags for access. The hotel provides beach chairs, but if you want an umbrella, you will need to find your own rental. The valet charge is $70 per day, and you will be discouraged from trying alternatives. Overall, we found it to be a weird type of property trying to be a boutique hotel. It was not at all the high end relaxing stay we were seeking. Would not recommend.…
We had a great overall experience. The pool deck was beautiful overlooking the ocean and not overly crowded. The room was clean and modern. Overall had a great experience and so much to do on the boardwalk in asbury park as well.
pricey but excellent!!!! much needed! addition to the new jersey coastline!!! beautifully appointed and set in the middle of asbury's great music scene! will definitely go several times a year. perfect for special occasions!
Service and food/drink quality is sub-par at best especially when you're paying over $1,000 per night. Many of times I had to go up to the bar to get service after sitting at a table for 15 minutes plus. They messed up our order several times we ordered the same thing every day and it was cooked differently every time. Also, when I booked with Amex concierge, they assured me the hotel would have complimentary champagne for my wife's birthday which there was not I called down they said they would send up right away, so we waited 4o minutes before they called to say they would not, but I can purchase a bottle starting at $109? The next morning, we texted the valet for our car to be brought up and after 30 minutes with no alert the car was ready the car was sitting there the whole time. This made us late for our reservation. Again, not what you would expect at $70 per day for valet. Very disappointed with my stay, way overpriced, and I feel Like this trip let my family down. I will never return…
Definitely worth the stay. My husband and I booked the dune terrace room and it was amazing! We plan to come back again for a week which we’ll book in advance! The shower was gorgeous and the windows 😍
We came for a weekend event and booked a room here along with my brother and my parents. The pool deck was the highlight of our trip. It looks like something out of a travel magazine. The views are gorgeous, customer service is fantastic, and the daily live music created a wonderful atmosphere. We ended up coming back to the pool deck late evening to have dinner outside. We could hear the local concert hall and could see fireworks off in the distance. My husband and I traveled with our 3 month old, and the crib provided in our room was clean and well-maintained. There's enough to keep you busy in the hotel with the pool, bar, restaurant, music, and free games in the drawing room. We didn't even have time to see the fitness center or sit on our private terrace. My parents rented the bikes for a day, and the only feedback was that the bike seat was hard to adjust. We will definitely be back next year!…
Great experience from start to finish. The Spa food pool and restaurant were great we really enjoyed it and will be back again. The staff was super friendly and professional and I considered it a white glove VIP experience.
Second time we are visiting this place and it keeps getting better ever single time. Staff is genuinely friendly making you feel special and always anticipating. Food is superb, rooms are extreme clean and well maintained, not to forget the shower . We just love it !!! We’ll keep coming back
