My partner and I have traveled all over the world, and who would think one of the worst experiences we've ever had would be right in our own backyard. On arriving we were welcomed by Mikell chain smoking on the porch with her dog in tow. Upon entering the house, we were greeted with the awful odor of mildew and... More

Mikell is the hostess with mostess. She serves a great breakfast, which you'll enjoy with your "housemates" either at the main dining table or in the kitchen. Both mornings we ate with two other couples, and Mikell joined us to chat (and she can chat!). She serves a mean cup o' Joe (no decaf) and the meal was hearty. On... More

Staying at Mikell’s Big House Bed & Breakfast can best be compared to staying at your Aunt’s house. Mikell is welcoming, attentive and ready to suggest any activity to enjoy or dining establishment to visit. She enjoys sitting in the kitchen every morning talking with her guests and business partners. The home-cooked tasty breakfast, served at set times (don’t go... More

I've stayed several times in Mikell's Big House--it is the perfect Asbury experience! Located just a few blocks from the beach (and also an easy walk to the great restaurants downtown), this is a gorgeously renovated b&b with a very contemporary style. My room was tastefully decorated--and unlike traditional b&b's (which always seem stuffy) it was fresh and modern. I... More

I have stayed at many B&Bs and hotels all over the world and I can say that Mikell's was easily the most enjoyable. My wife and I didn't know what we were getting into. Upon meeting Mikell and seeing her beautiful B&B we both instantly fell in love with the atmosphere and Mikell herself. Not only did she go above... More

More

We are a Spanish couple who recently moved to NYC and just got back from a great weekend in Asbury Park. We've fallen in love with this Town! All we can say is that so many people (reviews) can't be wrong - the whole experience from the time you walk through Mikell's door is simply a special one. Asbury Park... More

We are not B&B people as a rule--but this is no ordinary B&B, just as Asbury Park is no ordinary Jersey Shore town. Mikell is a wonderful host and a fantastic cook, and we really enjoyed our stay in this beautiful, funky old gem of a house. We will definitely be back!

Beautifully redone 1890s house. No dollies. Lots of great art & furniture. 3 Blocks from beach, boardwalk & Stone Pony. 5 blocks from downtown. Funky, eclectic & welcoming - great breakfasts and Asbury Park stories. Would definitely stay again!
