Grand Hotel Medellin is well located in the El Poblado district. There is a shared kitchen and other communal spaces which are well equipped and pleasant to relax in. The owner is super friendly, very helpful (speaks excellent English) and really deserves a special mention. The bed was very comfortable and we slept very well. Recommended

Was only going to be staying here for 1 night but ended up being 2. Given a nice sized room. Staff/owner were faultless!!! Good location - shops, bars, cafes, train are all within a 10 minute walk. 3 issues: - the owners dog and it’s barking... wasn’t best pleased with that. - double bed wasn’t a double bed it was smaller I feel. - pillows and mattress had plastic protectors on them... this made sleeping uncomfortable.

We booked a private room in this hostel for a reasonable price and were greated by Luz who is the owner. She is super friendly and helpful and we cannot thank her enough. Our room was super spacious and clean. The downside is the whacky internet which was constantly both slow and turning off. However do not spent too much time in this hostel but explore the city.

We initially booked for two nights at at Lucy's place in Medellin but stayed for seven. Lucy is such a wonderful hostess, she gave us lots of information and tips about what to do in Medellin and how to get there. She helped us out when our flight to Mexico was cancelled and was so lovely with us. Her pup is a cute schnauzer who hangs out at the house. It really felt more like a home than a hostel so if you want somewhere chilled where you can cook and sleep in peace stay here. Great location as well, close to a supermarket and train station. Thankyou Lucy!

We initially booked three nights but ended up staying I think 8 nights in total with a 2 night stay in Guatape in between where we left our bags at the hostel. Lucy is an amazing host and gave us all the information we needed throughout our stay. The hostel itself is a good size and very clean. We stayed in the 10 bed dorm and it was spacious and comfortable! The kitchen is big and can easily cook great meals with a big supermarket just 100m up the road. The location is perfect being just 200m or so from the Poblado station. The wifi is good and we loved our stay here and in Medellin! We hope to come back one day! Lucas the dog can be a little grumpy sometimes but he is a nice little dog!
