This is one of the best hotels I ever stayed in my whole life. It is very small, yet cool and modern, very clean and the attention of the staff is simply amazing. Yaceni and Lukas are awesome, very kind, knowledgeable and acommodating in anything you need to have the perfect stay in Medellin. This is really home away from home. The hotel is also very close to everything - local transportation, the museums and the cathedral and the prices are really good. I will come back to this hotel and I highly recommend it to everybody visiting Medellin and looking for a quiet and personalized stay.
This is my second stay at 61Prado. After one night at another guest house in the Laureles neighborhood this is the only hotel I will stay at in Medellin. The location is perfect in a quiet residential neighborhood but only a few blocks from the metro and walking distance to downtown. The owner and staff are all super friendly and the hotel is very clean. The food and service at the restaurant is excellent and can be enjoyed in the many public spaces including on the huge rooftop terrace. The view is amazing. This is a 5 star guesthouse with a 1 star price.
As long as you have low expectations, this hotel is ok. They forgot to hire the driver to meet me at the airport. My room's only window opened into the laundry area which was noisy from around 8am until 9pm every day (no chance for sleeping late). Wifi was ok, but slow and dropped out occasionally. Bed was ok. The location is about a 15 minute walk from the Prado Metro station. There's not much in terms of interesting, good dining options in the neighborhood (its semi-residential). Staff speaks fluent English, and were friendly. Again, not a bad place (especially for the price point), but not amazing either.
The staff and service at this hotel was amazing! Our family with college aged children traveled here over the Christmas holiday. The staff was accommodating with check in at anytime and we had several delicious meals here. The staff was also accommodating with ordering us taxis for our excursions. The lobby and dining area were very inviting and relaxing and the rooms were very comfortable.
I loved staying at this guest house, they even had a family room with two adjoining bedrooms for myself and my three children. The only downside to its location, is the lack of services in the immediate area. Didn’t really find a food store, convenience store, somewhere to buy beer etc. nearby. And after hours it’s awful quiet on the streets, so it didn’t really encourage you to be out and about. We did walk to Plaza Botero a number of times, and although it’s little bit sketchy around the train station, it’s not unlike what you will find another major Latin America cities. It just took us a little while to get our bearings. the food for breakfast was great and the beer was cold. And additional positive feature was the short walk to the airport shuttle buses in the direction of Plaza Botero. On our last day, we did a seven minute walk and were able to get to the airport for an incredibly reasonable price. Another good feature!…
