There are far too many bad reviews, when this place is pretty great. Excellent location, just around the corner from the tourist square Parque Lleras. Very nice looking, nice breakfast, - great place.
I have read some negative reviews the last couple of months but I didn't experience any of it. The staff have all been great, very friendly and accommodating. I want to thank Steven, John and Freddie for sometimes going above the call of duty. The breakfast buffet was fairly extensive with eggs made to order. The breakfast staff was very warm and friendly also. I had a king bed that was two twins put together but they had a topper that was very solid. I faced the street in an executive room that was very spacious and not loud from Parque Lleras. I liked the hotel very much and would stay again. Thank you Art Hotel for a great stay.
This places tries to be nice and trendy with the concrete floors and brick decor, but the poor lighting in the rooms make it so dark you have difficulty seeing anything. There are no outside windows (not in the room I was in which looks to be the same for many other rokms), so no sunlight gets in. Plus many things not working:- Electronic key system, so had to be let into my room every time which very tiresome let alone annoying for the staff. Television had no channels working. DVD player not working. Room safe did not work after several attempts. One lift of two out of service. The hotel staff were excellent and never complained despite having to work excessive hours and having extra running around to do (no electronic keys). From my experience I can't recommend staying here until they sort out their problems. There are better hotels within a short walk of here.…
Great hotel just a few blocks from the busy center of Poblado. Staff was incredibly nice and helpful. Always pointed us in the right direction to check out new spots plus helped us book tours. Breakfast is included and delicious! I give this place a 4 for two reasons: 1) their key machine wasn’t working so we had to constantly be escorted to our room by hotel staff and 2) no windows in the room. Windows faces the hallway, so there was no natural light. Not a deal breaker, but did make the room a bit dark. Hotel is quiet and safe. Slept like a rock!
I was very excited to stay here, but was incredibly disappointed with my experience and would not stay here again or recommend it to a friend. 3 PM CHECK IN - Firstly, I had to wait till 3pm to check in when there were rooms available. DISAPPOINTING ROOM - I had requested a room with balcony, which I was entitled to, but there were none available. Note, there are only 4 balcony rooms, and the staff will tell you they are terribly loud given they are street facing. The other rooms have windows, but the windows face the atrium from within the building so the view is a open walkway.... They are just as loud. VERY DARK ROOMS - The rooms are SO dark. Given that a majority of rooms are facing the atrium and not the natural light from the street, they are very dark and the lights in the room are so weak. You cannot have the blinds to the atrium open otherwise you will be completely exposed to the people walking around. To apply makeup, I literally needed to use the flash on my phone! Also, the rooms are not small, but they are nowhere as big or luxurious as photos suggest - believe me! EXTRA CHARGES - On another note, they tried to charge me $60 USD because my friend would stay with me for two nights. The price for 2 vs 1 person online was exactly the same, so this did not make sense, and I tried to articulate this to the remarkably rude staff only to need to escalate the matter to the manager - who is a very kind, understanding guy. It is only when I threatened to leave negative reviews and post about it on my nonexistent travel blog that they reduced the fee to the cost of breakfast ($10 per night - totally not worth it). VERY NOISY - Good luck getting any rest. I was in an "interior" room where the windows do not face the street, but rather the atrium. However, there is a rooftop bar that blasts music from 4 PM to about 12:30 AM. If you want to get an early night of rest, or an afternoon nap, it is completely impossible as you can hear EVERYTHING. In the morning if housekeeping is around, you can hear every single sound. It is far and away the least noise proof hotel I have ever stayed at. TV and AC will do nothing to drown out the sound. On other notes, if you do decide to stay here, make sure to bring an extension cord because the outlets are very far from all of the beds. Check out the rooftop, which is beautiful.…
