We had a lovely stay here. The room was modern and clean with a nice bathroom. The hostel was very social with people sitting around having beers in the evening. The staff were very helpful, calling taxis, giving tips and advice. Only downside is it was a little noisy at night. The doors kind of slam closed so when people were coming and going at night there was some noise. Would deffo recommend overall!

I came 2 years ago, it was very nice. So I’ve decided to try again. They confirmed my booking on Dec, everything’s ready. I arrive on Feb at midnight to Medellin and they say my booking was not confirmed and I had nowhere to sleep for the next 2 nights. No help or solutions at all, apart from calling another hostel, which I could have done myself and I actually did. Apologies saying they were 6 people and they cannot control what then other 5 do... ????? Seriously? Lack of communication, no professionalism at all, very bad customer service. I had to find another hostel last minute, very expensive and nothing close to what I booked and they confirmed in the black sheep. Get an email, an agenda, a mobile Phone or something to communicate between the 6 of you and a good booking system.

We loved our time at Black Sheep. The staff were all so friendly and helpful, the rooms were spacious, clean and with comfy beds and the bathrooms were clean with decent showers. The communal areas definitely made our stay - it’s such a social hostel that we spent most of our time on the table out the front (either evening drinks before heading out or once we got back from the club) and we also took advantage of the TV room one long hungover day and watched films with the other guests while eating McDonalds. It really felt like a second home despite us only staying 4 nights! We went on the Guatape tour and Graffiti tours that were planned through the hostel and loved both of them - granted we probably could have done these at a lower cost elsewhere but the convenience of being picked up from the hostel and ease of not having the shop around was worth it. I definitely recommend both of them! Just a heads up only small lockers are available and there’s no locks on the shared room dorms so be sure to lock valuables away (not that we had any problems). Great location with the nearby supermarket, Metro station and Mercado del Rio. I’ll definitely be stopping by if I return to Medellin!

This was one of our best hostels in our 2 month trip of South! Service was great, rooms were clean, beds comfortable, showers and bathroom clean (get in early for the warmest showers, as expected in a big hostel). A 10 minute walk from the train station to downtown, 15 minute walk from restaurants/bars and in a safe nice area. Great common rooms too! Nothing was too hard for the staff here! Added bonus of a washing service!
