Hidden behind a large wooden door, the hotel is a cool and calm retreat from the music and hawkers that fill the streets of the old town. The staff couldn't be more accommodating and the breakfasts are excellent, as is the free coffee in the study. The rooms are large, cool and airy and the location is ideal.

Alfiz was right in the center of Centro in the walled city – so the location can’t be beat. As soon as you walked out – you were already there, ready to explore the walled city streets of Centro (where we were) or Retiro on the NE side, or Getsemani on the south side – or walk the walls themselves... My wife and I checked into the Alfiz after the air conditioning in our AirBnB broke. We could not have been happier. The service was exquisite - we especially appreciated the glass of sangria delivered to our room upon arrival. And the breakfast was top notch and delicious! The room itself, despite being located in the center of the city,... More

And found an Oasis! Having missed our boat to the island we decided to stay at the closest hotel we could find to the docks. We showed up like a couple of dusty wanderers and found Pablo at the door. He checked us in and found us a room for the night at most reasonable price. When we saw that... More

My husband and I were staying in an Airbnb but after the AC in the apartment stopped working, we checked into the Alfiz. After a day of sweating, walking into the welcoming Alfiz hotel was heaven. great service, a welcome glass of sangria, a cute little pool, and antique filled 2-story hotel room, a nice bed, and best of all:... Really nice room and we felt good value for Cartagena. Nice pool and really friendly staff. We got the last room left which was actually on the ground floor but would have happily stayed there again but the hotel was fully booked. We would definitely go back.

It was a shame that you couldn't stay again with us, but we hope you enjoyed your short stay. As suggestion for next time we recommend to book in advance with at least 15 days as we normally are very full, but of course you can always try our last minute rates! More

My boyfriend and I just spent four nights at the Alfiz Hotel and absolutely loved it! This eight room boutique hotel has very courteous staff who happily assist with whatever requests you may have. My girlfriend and I spent a very relaxing four nights at the Hotel Alfiz in September. After 4 days trekking to Ciudad Perdida we were hoping for an oasis of tranquility and we certainly found it. Gorgeous boutique hotel. We had the junior suite and it was a wonderful place to relax and refresh in between exploring the city. All the front desk staff are friendly and sweet. We enjoyed a bountiful breakfast every morning as well as the lovely roof terrace and plunge pool! It's also conveniently close to a mini-market, pharmacy & ATM.
