This was hands-down our favorite hotel in Colombia. The accommodations were incredibly atmospheric and very tastefully decorated. Complimentary breakfast is served in a great room overlooking the street, and was delicious. The staff were incredibly warm and friendly, and the concierge proactively gave us excellent advice on restaurants, and helped us book a boat tour. We regrettably never had time to use the hot tub on the roof, but we did enjoy the view of the city skyline. Overall, an amazing experience.
Casa Don Sancho was beautiful, calm, and overall enhanced our stay in Cartegena. The room was clean and the AC was strong. The shower had great pressure. The food is great (I recommend the pina colada - it’s fresh, delicious, and HUGE!). The staff is friendly, respectful, recommended places to eat, and called us a cab when we headed out to the airport. The plants in the courtyard are lucious and only add to the magic of this stay. The pool in the courtyard was clean and the jacuzzi on the roof was clean and had great views of the city and even a view of the ocean. The location is on a quiet street near near the theatre and you’re steps away from the city walls. We easily walked around the old town from here. If you’re beat from the sun or walking around, I’d recommend the food here or walking over to the Epoca Espresso Bar - the La Artilleria location, because it’s less crowded, prettier inside, great coffee, brunch, and snacks, and like a 7 min walk away.…
Wow! What a beautiful hotel. We loved this place, perfectly located in the old walled city, felt a little like the Riads of Marrakesh. It’s been so well designed and furnished. And so quiet. The rooftop is lovely with a jacuzzi and a few places to relax and read. The lady who met us on arrival spent ages talking about the city, her recommendations and all annotated on a top quality map! The bedroom lovely, beautiful bed linen, huge bed! And fab shower. Breakfast was fine; fresh fruit, lovely passion fruit juice, basket of bread/pastries...but cooked options less good, my poached eggs were solid and avocado off, the better option was ‘Peasant eggs’ which my husband had. But forget breakfast, this place is stunning and I highly recommend.
Two nights stay only, but everything was perfect. Design, location, care, recommendations all done with ease and perfection. No restaurant for dinner but the excellent recommendation for places near by well compensated for that. A travel experience from the glory time of travel long gone by
staff was very attentive, knowledgeable and professional, comfortable bed, room clean, amazing shower. Great location. Could have asked for a better place inside the walled city. Would definitely go back if in Cartagena again.
I stayed here with a friend for two nights. Wonderful, attentive service in a great location. The English-speaking staff was so helpful with directions and information. The food was amazing (my friend and I had dinner there one night) and the location in the walled city made it easy to see all the sights. Thoughtful touches (cookies and a note upon arrival to the room) and a chocolate and a bottle of water left in the afternoons. Thoroughly enjoyed the stay!
Thus beautiful hotel is one of the best I have ever stayed in. Upon entering a very gracious hist gave us a cool wash cloth to cool us off, then we were offered a drink. Instead of a reception desk we were taken to a lovely living room where we were checked in. The room is beautiful, great ac. Nice bathroom although the light could be a bit brighter for makeup application. The bed us king size with lots if comfy pillows. Rooms are around lovely courtyard. There us a lovely rooftop deck with comfy couches and a jacuzzi. Breakfast was wonderful with fresh fruit, oj, fresh breads and choice of eggs or pancakes. Everything was delicious. Another thing I liked was that it us on a quiet, safe block but only a few short blocks from restaurants, bars, etc. I look forward to staying here again. Everyone from the staff was so nice, friendly and helpful. I look forward to my next stay in this wonderful hotel!…
Lovely small hotel in the old walled city. It is a beautiful mansion with a center courtyard with a pool. The restaurant was very good and the staff was very attentive. It is a truly lovely hotel in the old walled city.
Wonderful property in the heart of the old town of Cartagena. Perfect location to explore the city. I would recommend staying here for 2-3 days and then spend a night in one of the main hotels in Bocagrande to make the most of your stay. All staff is excellent. They take care of everything and make sure that you have a great time. The food is excellent and the roof terrace is amazing!
We were greeted at Casa Don Sancho with two lovely drinks of our choosing (I had a michelada while my husband had a beer). We got a tour of the home, everything was spotless and immaculately decorated. There was fresh white roses in all of the rooms and relaxing music playing. The pool on the first floor was so wonderful. The lounge chairs next to it are extremely comfortable and great for a little nap. The rooftop was the real stunner with great views of the ocean and city. The staff prepared a romantic 5 year anniversary dinner for us on the roof. They set up a beautiful table, lit candles, played music, and purchased legitimately the most beautiful red roses I've ever seen. The staff were incredibly thoughtful and caring. They organized several dinner reservations for us as well as a trip to Coralina Island. When we got back from Coralina, I had a fish bone stuck in my throat that was really bothering me. The staff was so great, they called the medical help line for advice, prepared hard rolls for me to eat, and it worked! I felt so much better. Casa Don Sancho truly was a home away from home for us. Breakfast was delicious, the bed was comfortable, and we loved the turn down service (water and chocolate)! It was also very quiet at night, which was a nice respite from the busy Old Town. When we walked in the doors at the end of each day it truly felt like we were simply coming home. We can't recommend this hotel more.…
