The place is amazing! Beautiful rooms and common rooms with very nice views from the balcony. It's very well located, right in the center of Old Town Cartagena The room was big and very nice decorated! Staff was very helpful and breakfast was delicious! It has a swimming pool in the roof where you can relax or make time before going to the airport

Casa del Coliseo was terrific and was the perfect location for our five day stay in El Centro. The hotel is beautifully appointed, our suite was outstanding with plenty of room and a nice balcony. It did face the louder side street, but the hotel provides ear plugs for use at night. And not every night was loud; only Thursday and Monday, interestingly. Ear plugs plus having the ac and the ceiling fans going at night and it was fine. The food at breakfast is delicious, offerings include both typical Colombian fare and American choices. The location is outstanding, we were able to walk everywhere, except for the Convent of Santo Domingo. All the staff were so nice and helpful, but a particular shout-out to Randy and Martin.

Stepping over the lovely threshold of this hotel's doorway, you are immediately transported to a special, old-world and serene oasis. This was our fist visit to Cartagena, Colombia and despite the hustle & bustle going on in the busy street outside, once inside the hotel, all was quiet, elegant and peaceful. Upon our arrival Randy greeted us with a warm smile and glasses of delicous fruit juice. He helped us with dinner reservations, a map of the area and information about some of the highlights of the beautiful walled city of Cartagena. Martin, whom we met the next day was also extremely helpful and courteous. Our room/suite was gorgeous and very spacious! Soaring wood-beamed ceilings, 2 large ceiling fans, great AC system, a comfy sofa/sitting area and 2 balconies (equipped with tables and chairs) over-looking the charming street scene made it hard to leave when our trip was through. Our marble bathroom was incredible with double rain-head showers, his & hers sink areas, bathrobes, slippers and was well stocked with lovely L'Occtaine toiletries. A delicious, full breakfast was included every morning and served in a comfortable and elegantly decorated dining room. The roof-top pool, despite being a little small, was the perfect place to have a dip and hang out after a full day os sightseeing. One afternoon, while lounging by the pool, we ordered a plate of tostones to "hold us over" until dinner...they were delicious! The hotel also arranged for a masseuse to come to our room (pure heaven!!) and for transport to and from the airport. The entire staff could not be more pleasant and professional. Can't wait to go back!

The hotel is in the middle of the old walled city, an area that is very noisy generally, and crowded, yet somehow manages to be peaceful and tranquil and largely quiet. It is extremely well run with incredible, friendly, efficient and knowledgeable staff who are incredibly helpful with almost everything. I didn't really see any rooms other than the one we were in so it is hard to speak about them generally, but ours was small yet well appointed and efficient, immaculately clean and comfortable. The only drawback was that it was an interior room with only window opening into an air shaft. The air shaft was filled with plants so it wasn't awful, but it did make the room feel kind of overly small and not very bright. It was room 401 and I would suggest that you ask for a different room. Still, for two days it was fine. I peeked into room 402 that was just above ours, also on the air shaft, but higher up and it seemed better. The public rooms and rooftop pool are lovely and comfortable. The breakfast room is especially nice and the breakfast was excellent with a variety of choices, good fruit, juices, egg dishes if you wanted them, good baked goods and local items. Nice hotels in the center of Cartagena can be somewhat overpriced and undergood, this hotel was neither. It was fairly priced for the market and a great place to stay. I will definitely be back when I'm in Cartagena.
