We originally booked Hotel Marina Suite for 3 nights and ended up staying 7! Cartagena drew us into staying longer but we were incredibly happy with this hotel that we decided to stick with it! The location is amazing, the staff so friendly and helpful and the hotel is incredible clean! Breakfast is eggs or a toasted sandwich with fruit, coffee and juice which I thought was pretty good! The rooms have air conditioning and cable tv and the bed was nice and firm. The wifi was also strong as we made a few skype calls home and the connection was good. No hot water but that's not an issue. Oh and they clean your room daily. Loved it here and would stay again.

Whoever designed this hotel clearly knew nothing about anything. Our room had only one window looking into the hallway. For what purpose? No idea. Maybe to experience the nice view of the door across the hall? This meant that our room wasn't fully dark until someone decided to switch off the hallway light in the middle of the night. Next, the bathroom. Jeez, this is the bathroom they make you use in hell when you piss someone off. First off, it was like trying to pee in a trash compactor. There was literally no space to move around, we had to close the door to get to the sink, which, by the way, had little bugs crawling around the taps. Next, there was no window or source of ventilation. One of my family members dropped a #2 and I nearly died trying to brush my teeth in there. We had to open the door and turn the A.C. on full blast to get the smell out. In general, it was not well maintained and I felt like our deuces were probably the cleanest things in there. Now, for the good. Yes, there are some. The beds were fairly comfortable and clean. I slept well on them, which is probably one of the most important things when staying at a hotel. The breakfast they served in the morning was also really good. I had scrambled eggs, toast, fruit, and juice. The Wi-Fi was also reliable (at least it was in my room), and the staff was friendly. So, 1 star for the beds, a.c., and Wi-Fi, one star for the breakfast, and 1 star for the staff. If you need a budget place to stay, it could definitely be worse. If you wanna try out new acrobatic techniques to fit in a restroom, this is your place.

I didn't know what to expect when I booked the hotel, I just wanted to be close to the beach and was hoping for a descent room. The service was fantastic. Everyone working there was welcoming and always ready to help with whatever. The original room was very small -all rooms are small- and we asked them to change. They did it with pleasure. All the personnel was wonderful, always with a warm smile. It is very good for its money.

Nothing like in the pictures. When we did the check in, we were informed that they didn't have hot water (this was not specify anywhere in the Expedia page), also bathroom was not good at all and AC was broken, we were super cold at night because the AC wouldn't turn off. We couldn't sleep in till late cause really early in the morning we hear everyone speaking and making noises in the hall. Horrible!

I booked this hotel based on the price, location and reviews. I just can't understand how someone could rate this hotel "Fantastic". When we got there, they sent us to a room by the stairs on the second floor. The room was disgusting. There were no windows, no hot water, not even space to open our luggages (please see the pictures I posted). There were a bunk bed (which we didn't request) and a full size bed near each other. The mattress was awful and there was just a horrible pink blanket with a picture of 3 girls on it to cover ourselves. It was a nightmare!!! There is no elevator I had to drag my suitcase up. We went downstairs and asked for another room. The second room was worse... no windows either, the bathroom was disgusting with black mold all over the selling and not even a shower head to take a bath (water comes straight from the pipe... I saw it not lying!!. We had to fight to get the money back and they only refunded us two nights out the four we had paid. We went to better hotel asap. Don't believe in the pics and positive comments... I experienced myself this horrible situation. That place is for people who can't really really afford a better place to stay.

Toilets are a catastrofe with around 45cm wall to wall and with the toilet paper sitting behind you back - you must be in family with harry potter to get the paperer sitting on the toilet :-) I like the cutting of the toilet door to - nice wood work to get the door around the water tap. The whole hotel need a makeover by some profecenel hotel builders :-) Breakfast is a problem with only 8 tables and 100 people every morning, and steady running out of everything from coffee to bread and butter :-( WIFI is probably the most unstable network in the town with a working rate under 30% and on and off every 2 minutes. A lot of the rooms have no windows at all...... Even there is a computer in ground floor for hotel customers you are not allowed or able to print out your boarding cards - you have to send them to the hotel to get them printing them out - why not get a 50$ printer - Wake up !

We arrived after 5 hour-long bus driving from Santa Marta, entering the Bocagrande neighborhood. From the reviews, we expected a decent hotel...
none of that! We felt entering a cemetery where no windows and beds are built on stone....we felt strangled from high humidity and not natural air.
NOT RECOMMEND FOR CLAUSTROPHOBIC PEOPLE . Hotel requires big changes .

Fast WiFi. Airconditioning in the room. Friendly staff.
Only cold water in the shower. No window in the room. Taxi drivers are waiting for you like predators outside the hotel, one was even inside. Hotel looks oldish and does not seem a 3 star hotel.

I read the reviews here before going (most of them negative) and I was expecting a disgusting and horrible hotel but I got really surprised. Not much to complain about, barely stayed at the room. It was perfect for my weekend considering the price.

very nice hotel , people there at the reception try to help,are nice people, good with tourist, they help me too.i was only for few days, but the place is clean, good people, good breakfast in the morning the room is clean, they clean every day .is not very big room, but is nice ,clean ,good mattress, i slept good and quaiet, most important for me was closer to the beach, .they have safety deposit box.big screen tv, air conditioner feels good.and for the price i paid , is good , good hotel for everyone.
