Fantastic staff, great location and beautiful building! Staff is friendly, efficient, welcoming, very helpful and trustworthy. Thank you so much, Yulieth, Maria, Ariella and Sebastian for everything! 24h reception and english is spoken. Great location: close to beautiful historical center and walls, shops and supermarkets, airport ( 15/20 min by taxi). Building is great: beautiful features, small pool inside, nice...

Small, quiet but social hostel right in the center of the old town. Breakfast included but quite expensive compared to other hostels. Clean bedrooms and bathrooms and there is a swimming pool which is much needed if you are not used to the humidity and heat. The reception offers tours to Playa Blanca for a resonable price too. Overall, if...

I loved my stay at El Genovés Hostal. It is truly a gem in the historic center of Cartagena. The area is very safe and clean day and night. The hostel employees are the sweetest and open to become your friend if you are up for it. They are happy people and want you to enjoy your stay. They are...

The staff is super welcoming and accommodating of your needs. They all also speak great English which helps with planning trips and finding recommendations. The location is the best for exploring San Diego and the historic quarters of Cartagena. Some of the best restaurants are literally around the corner (La Cevicheria, La Mulata, etc.). Calle Cochera de Hobo is also...

We stayed in the roof top bedroom. Small room with bunk beds with a private bath. We sorta spread our stuff out on the rooftop balcony as no one really used it. AC worked great. I found it expensive, but it has a perfect location in the walled city. Nice little pool and breakfast table to chat people up. Mainly...

Excellent location in the old town and a beautiful building with a pool, roof terrace and cosy communal area. The rooms have comfortable beds of a good size and the bathrooms are large, but be aware that the air con isn't turned on until around 10pm at night. Before that the heat is insufferable... No different to being outside, and...

Amazing location inside the walls of the old town cartagena. Colonial style building with a rooftop, small swimming pool, small balconies off each room and the place reminded me of a castle. Rooms were really nice, clean and the ensuite bathroom was huge and very grand. Stayed in a mixed 6 bed dorm with ensuite. Breakfast was included, which was...

The hostal is located in a really centric location of the Cuidad Amurallada, good to meet other solo travelers. However it was more expensive than other hostals that I have stayed in Colombia. First I stayed on a 8 bed share room and not sure what happened but the AC was never on and it was really warm at nigh....

After all the good reviews we were disappointed. Please don't advertise air con if you don't intend on using it. This may not apply to all the rooms but we stayed in the huge 8 bed dorm with air con on 26 degrees which barely changed a thing. Unfortunately we won't be staying here again.

Stayed in a large room with bunch of strangers, but let me say everyone was respectful, quiet, and clean. Breakfast was delicious. Staff was friendly, bathrooms were clean, The house was beautiful. I will definitely stay there again.
