An absolutely amazing place, we had a wonderful stay - it just wanted long enough. Such a beautiful property and the service is second to none. The most luxurious, relaxing stay I’ve had! Nothing is too much trouble for the team there. I hope to return one day!

Casa San Agustin and their staff (Edgar and David) were wonderful! They handled our requests quickly and always with a smile and went beyond the minimum in every way. David had recommendations for Cartagena's best restaurants, along with suggested times that would yield the best experiences! Every time we left the hotel, Edgar had a few places to suggest that would complement our outing (bakeries, bars and taco restaurants!) along with simple directions so we'd never be lost. It was such a pleasure to return back and tell him how much we loved his ideas. The property is in a perfect location and provides a welcome reprieve from the bustling street just steps away. The rooms are perfectly appointed and stay cool despite the soaring heat and humidity. My husband and I were thoroughly impressed with our trip to Casa San Agustin, we'll absolutely be back and wouldn't think of staying anywhere else. There isn't a thing abut the trip we'd change (largely in part because we spent it at Casa San Agustin).

We had the most amazing stay at Casa San Agustin. We honestly could not recommend it enough. We were in Cartagena on our honeymoon and this was the perfect choice for us. The staff was wonderful from the moment we arrived. The doorman helped us on numerous occasions when we weren't sure where to go (e.g., when we needed to find an ATM, or find somewhere for lunch) and was always so friendly. The staff at breakfast were also amazing - it always started our day off well (plus the breakfast food was DELICIOUS). The spa staff were also lovely, and the Passion for Life spa treatment was such a good choice - relaxing and romantic! The hotel itself was BEAUTIFUL - the way they use the original architecture (and the old aqueduct!) and created luxury rooms and a beautiful pool area meant we felt like we got a full Cartagena experience. The little library room where they had tea and coffee everyday was a really nice touch as well. We also took the opportunity to spend a day at their private beach property Acasi, which was a great way to see the Rosario Islands and get some beach-time in a relaxed and private venue. We highly recommend doing this if you are looking to venture out that way! Lastly, the location of the hotel was perfect - right in the centre of the walled city, among a range of fantastic restaurants - it really was the perfect choice for us.

This place is absolutely beautiful and authentic! It's a trip back in time. The rooms are nicely appointed and flat out gorgeous! The hotel is gorgeous! The food at it's restaurant is delicious and the service is excellent. The ambiance is fabulous with stunning aesthetics. Ask for Roberto at the restaurant, he is excellent! Also, Paola, their guest relations manager is a real STAR! Concierge team was on task. Attention to detail was superb. Lastly, Do not miss the city tour and make sure you ask for Manuel Negrete as a guide. He is incredibly knowledgeable, a great communicator, super charismatic and perfectly bilingual; we had our own private highly regarded historian walking with us through every nook and cranny of Cartagena de Indias!

This place was great! The location is perfect within the walled city and is an easy walk to all of the popular sights including the park and Getsemani. Paola, was so helpful and kind always helping us with anything we needed. The staff was amazing giving us recommendations on where to eat and other things to do. The ACASI beach package was a great day and highly recommended for anyone staying here. It was our first time in Colombia and we always felt safe and everyone was very friendly. We would definitely encourage others to visit Cartagena and stay at Casa San Agustin.

We had a wonderful time. In particular, the hotel manager, Brando, was incredibly helpful, with everything from the best places to shop to restaurants in the area. He assisted us with our boat tour, and little things like getting us a cash advance for tips to the staff. The resort was great, but we’re especially indebted to Brando and his team for helping make this an unforgettable trip. Thank you!

Wow. Just wow. Truly amazing hotel. Food, room, and service all out of this world. Such a beautiful building, and so tastefully decorated. Our room was incredibly lovely with a super comfortable bed. The food in the restaurant was first class with first class ingredients. More than anything though the staff here are just incredible. From the minute you arrive they are incredibly welcoming, kind and polite. They obviously love working here. More than anything they are all characters, people who you want to talk to and hear their story. Nothing was too much effort. When my wife got something on her dress walking round the city they had it cleaned and back to her in 2 hours. I wish we could have stayed here for a week and tried out their private beach. As it was Cartagena is almost as wonderful as the books of Gabo, so we will definitely be back.

We loved Casa San Agustin and can’t wait to return. We booked a car to pick us up at CTG and the who process was seamless. Within 15 minutes we were in the heart of the old city and checking onto the hotel. 5 minutes more and we were walking into our spectacular ‘premium suite’. Entering through double doors into room 302, we were first impressed by the 25 foot ceilings and the three arched French doors that opened up onto a courtyard. The bathroom was huge and the shower area had room for the extended family. The metal four poster bed was as comfortable as could be with Frette sheets and big fluffy pillows. But one of the nicest features was the ample outdoor space that had a hot tub and lounge chairs. Suffice it to say, we would have loved to extend our stay for the room alone! Casa San Agustin is located in the heart of the old and close to everything. The hotel is a combination of three former townhouses, wrapped around a central courtyard with palm trees and a pool. We spent 4 days there and loved checking out the local restaurants, bars and shops. The best thing about Casa San Agustin was that after a morning of checking out the old city, we came back and popped into the pool to relax and cool off (the pool temperature was perfect, BTW). While we’re staying at Casa San Agustin we had dinner once and breakfast everyday at Alma. Food was wonderful and a dinner there should not be missed. We loved the short ribs, the octopus and the lobster empanadas. Our server over the few days we were there was Yenny and she could not have been more delightful and friendly. Finally, we can’t forget to call out the service. At the concierge desk Paola and Leonardo were wonderful. Leonardo helped arrange all of our pre-arrival details and restaurant reservations, while Paola helped us secure some hard to get reservations (including the Cevicheria). Our room attendants where like ghosts who popped into our room and kept everything tidy. One thing to note: We took advantage of the trip to Acasi, the hotel’s private beach. While the beach was nice and the food and service was good, the trip to get there was quite rough as for at least half of the trip as you are in the open sea on a small boat. Honestly, I would have preferred to stay back at the hotel by the pool. Just bare that in mind if you are considering the excursion. Don’t even hesitate about booking this hotel!

This is a beautiful hotel, the location is great, the service is outstanding and the beds are comfy. The problem is that the lobby is open-air, it's where the pool is, and there is no escaping the heat and humidity while talking to the front desk or sitting in the waiting area. Thankfully, our room, the library, the main bar and dining room were all air conditioned, but there's a lot of being hot and cold. As for the room, it was too dark for our liking. We had one window that was behind a door and looked out on an interior walkway (so you had to keep the curtain closed a lot of the time), and the bulbs in the lamps were too dim for our old eyes. The bathroom was like a cave - spacious, with an open shower - but dark like a cave. We were on the second floor so maybe the rooms on the upper levels were brighter. During the six nights we were there, and although November is supposed to be the dry season, there were brief rain showers several times a day - so we were always damp. And then we were cold in our room and constantly trying to adjust the AC, which was a remote controlled wall unit. My husband remarked that Cartagena really is a 3-shower-a-day kind of place. We ate every breakfast at the hotel because it was included in our rate, and the food was very good. We ate dinner in the restaurant one evening and it was also very good. I have to make special mention of the people at the front desk who were always helpful and, in fact, even went so far as to fill out our tax refund form and make copies for us before we left for the airport!
