From the moment I entered my junior suit this special atmosphere captured all my senses. You visit the property like a client and then you go home like a friend. Rooms are luxury, comfortable and spacious. For me as a fruit lover breakfast was just wonderful - great variety of tropical fruits, fruit yoghurt, different kind of bread, something for any meet or cheese lover /cheese variety was spectacular/, many cooking stations - pancakes, eggs, waffers, etc., as well as personal attention. /You get your own fruit basket and gourmet pastry on arrival in the room, by the way. / Staying here was a great way to relax after hours walking down the streets of this vibrant and colourful city. Either you can use the rooftop pool to swim, relax, have a snack or amazing sunset views. Staff - very kind and helpful. All of them. Eventually you go home full of good emotions and with a coffee present, representing the unmatchable atmosphere of this unique place.

We stayed at the Hotel Charleston Santa Teresa in February for a short family vacation. The hotel itself is stunning on the inside and out - beautiful flower arrangements all over the lobby and in the halls, very clean, room was lovely (and nice and cool). We loved the historical nature of the building, and were very much pleased on our arrival. Other pros: very friendly and helpful staff, great breakfast, nice courtyard, pool was awesome and had great views, excellent drinks at the bar, very good location. HOWEVER. We were incredibly disappointed when we were greeted with extremely loud music each night when we went to bed. We stayed three nights, and all three nights there were weddings taking place below our room in the outdoor restaurant area and at the bar across from the hotel. Flashing strobe lights, loud, wall-shaking music, fireworks and people screaming and yelling until the wee hours of the morning were not what we expected for this stay. Our son - three years old - was not feeling well and had a hard time sleeping. My husband slept very little, and we were all VERY happy when we moved to another hotel and could get a good night's sleep. For the price, they really need to figure out how to control some of the noise a bit better so guests can sleep!

Location: The location of this hotel is spectacular. It is within the Walled City and at a perfect location for a spectacular nightly sunset. It is close to the main part of the walled city and close to the highway. Courtyard: The courtyard is also beautiful. Getting breakfast was a little confusing, but it was probably because we were in a hurry. Rooms: The rooms have amazingly high ceilings and are pretty - pretty - perfect. Rooftop: The pool and rooftop bar close early - but the staff let us stay to enjoy our conversation while they were cleaning up. Concierge: Louisa at the concierge desk was so kind and helpful to us. We'd searched trip advisor for amazing restaurants and she graciously called, made reservations for us and really went above and beyond. In addition, we needed help getting to Baru and she helped to arrange our travel. Thank you Louisa!! Gifts: There were thoughtful parting gifts at checkout. Thank you!

I’ve never experienced service like this in my life. Very attentive. A little effort required sometimes as I don’t speak Spanish but most staff spoke at least a little English and it worked. Food was excellent, prices very reasonable, massage in spa was best of my life. To top it off, I was ill the last night and the staff went to a pharmacy at 5 am to get medicine for me. I was only charged 4 dollars. Beautiful and very clean. Housekeeper was beyond compare. I can’t say enough about the friendliness and extraordinary hospitality. Great guest services employee as well. Cartegena felt very safe and more people should give this city a try. I can’t say enough about this fabulous hotel. I could sit at the pool on a cabana and have coconut lime daiquiris for a week straight with no problem.
