We stayed for three nights at Casa Marta and it was the perfect choice for us - quiet, cosy, safe and not far from the action in Getsemani. Marta, Ana (Marta's niece who speaks excellent English) and Miguel looked after us very well and were attentive to our every need - whether it be advice, directions, bookings for onward travel and making us feel welcome in their home. We had some hilarious conversations with Marta via Google Translate and we always got there in the end - part of the fun! The room was clean and comfortable and about 15 mins walk to El Centro in Cartagena's old town. Breakfast was good and varied each day and there was the much needed A/C in the room and small pool to dip in to keep cool in the heat. Would definitely stay there again if back in Cartagena!

I had originally made this reservation for 2 people. I usually don't worry about our daughter since in the USA, hotels never charge for an extra child. Anyway, it was a big deal with this place. After we arrived, I insisted on knowing what the extra charge would be and the staff stated "don't worry about it, it is a very small amount". And I kept insisting on knowing what it was. Finally he reluctantly called the owner to get a price. After hanging up with the owner he said it would be 30 minutes before determining the amount. So, finally he comes back with an amount which is 28% of our original rate ($35/night). Basically we were charged $35 for a $1 breakfast. Ridiculous. Anyway I accepted the rate. Then after our stay I noticed that I was charged on my credit card $16 more

This house was everything and more. The staff was great. Pleasant & Helpful. The house was clean and really felt like home. The Pool is the perfect size. Not one complaint. My friends and I all enjoyed ourselves. The house is in the perfect spot, steps away from center and it is a happening place filled with friendly people, yummy food and live music.

We had a great experience at Casa Marta. The rooms are very clean, the hosts were super friendly and helpful and the AC and ceiling fan keep the room cool and comfortable. A five minute walk to the walled city and the neighborhood is safe and quiet. Also, the wifi is strong. I'd recommend this place to anyone visiting Cartagena.

We spent three nights in the Casa da Marta and was very pleasant. the house was decorated for Christmas and was very Marta who did everything. It was beautiful! All are very attentive and friendly persons. maybe the breakfast may have more options. The pool is great, a delight to rest! The location is good, close to shops and bars. In 10 minutes walking you are in the Ciudad Amurallada. Recomiendo! Good days :)
