We just left Casa cochera this morning. If this is your first time on Cartagena, let me give you a bit of info as to how the tourist area is set up. The walled city is a UNESCO heritage city. It is within a wall and everywhere inside the wall is safe and walkable. Getsmani is another area travellers usually frequent and it is across the street outside of the walled city so it is walkable as well, not as high end, more party vibe. You probably by now heard of the clock tower. It is located above entrance to the wall. There are many entrances to the wall but let's just say the clock tower entrance is the "main entrance". What I mean by that is there are alot of shops and restaurants close to the tower, as you go further away, it becomes a little more quiet and you will start to see residental areas. Anything around the tower are more touristy and I would say centralized for all your needs (restaurant, super market, shops...etc). The location of this hotel is great because it is very close to clock tower (within 5 mins away), on a side street which is quiet. This is very beneficial because if the street your hotel on is very (which almost all the streets near clock towers are), you will most likely hear noise until the late night. The walled city is very lit at night with endless amount of people walking around, music playing...etc. Casa cochera is perfect because it's very close to clock tower, but on a quiet street. Another perk is being within 1 minute walk to a 24 hours grocery store. That was such a plus for us because we often walked over for snacks, food or alcohol. The hotel itself is not special, its not bad but basic and good enough for night sleep. The pool is very small but you have access to their sister hotel roof top pool (Sophia, a few mins away), we went there one day and it was okay. The bed is comfortable, room is clean. What stood out for us alot were the service and stuff. Absolutely top notch. They will try to take care of everything for you, anything you need they will try their best. For example we needed to exchange money and one of the staff took us there and helped us with everything. They also helped us rented a boat (although we ended up canceling), they also helped us with cancelation too ( that we after we checked out so it was really above and beyond). Overall, the price point, the location and device is absolutely worth every penny!

We stayed here for two nights 12-13 feb. We were lucky i think to get room 303 on the top floor which is over a wooden bridge to a small terrace near the jacuzzi. No one much used this terrace so we had it pretty much to ourselves for a bit of sunbathing after exploring the city. The room is small maybe 5x5 metres plus a shower room but it is comfortable with tea making facilities and mini bar. The jacuzxi doesnt work very well , its nice to get into but the bubbles hardly function. The staff are all great. We didnt have a massage. The breakfast is mostly different styles of eggs with fresh fruit served separately, nice warmed croissants and tea or coffee. We didnt use the larger pool in the sister oxo hotel.we also stayed st the Alfiz hotel scross the street, the locatoon of both hotels is great!

A very fine boutique hotel (12 rooms) in the heart of the centre of Cartagena; near the clock tower. The side-hotel (Sophia) has a nice roof-terrace. Very good breakfast; nice big room. A lot of good restaurants walking distance. Save area. Bikes to discover the city.
