We are part of one of the most traditional neighborhoods of the city of Cali: San Antonio a privileged strategic location surrounded by hotels, restaurants, bars, cafes, parks and attractions, also easily accessible by public transport. We are oriented towards cultural and sporting environment, we have had the opportunity to host and accommodate different sports related media: Handball team "Halla Madrid" of Argentina and BMX team of Manizales. Also, concerning the cultural environment as part of the production team of films like "Saudo" thriller of Colombian pacific and "La Tierra y La sombra" won several awards at national and international level. In addition, we were hosting the official participants in the Latin American screenwriting residence 2015 by Algo en Común. We have a staff ready to help at any time, making them feel more a family meeting, with ideas, knowledge, information and plans to do in the city.

Up a couple of flights of steep steps, a pink wall with a Doctor Whoish owl. Cross the threshold and like it or lump it Adolfo has welcomed you into the family. An instantly avuncular gentleman, an arm around your shoulder already. Don't be freaked out, he means well, if a tad tactile for some perhaps. A cheery colourful place, more gaudy than Gaudi maybe, bright and airy dorm with not a bunk in sight, which allows at least the illusion of space. The terrace makes the most of the elevated position for views, munch breakfast prepared by a doting Adolfo, plot your next move. This is the hilly district of San Antonio. Take a short scramble up to the church at the top of the park for even better sweeping vistas. San Ant's got a pleasing Bohemian feel. From the hostel, walk down to the river, various bakeries, food stops & cafes en route, and you'll be in gato heaven: fantastic photo opportunities. I don't think there's anywhere else on the planet with so many diverse sculptures of pusscats. And nearby is a short line of mostly hole-in-the-wall bars & takeaways, good for casually hanging out of an evening with some beers, watch some football with the locals, much prefer to overpriced glitz in Granada district. Jekyll & Hyde city, Cali. On Saturday night, a mile along the river was Absolutely Buzzing with street entertainment, Salsa pouring on the sizzling sauce, infectious energy. I felt really lucky to have found Hostel Encuentro in Cali. I have been travelling around Latin America for many months having stayed at a lot of different hostel but not even one amounted to this one. Adolfo, the owner, is an incredible man who makes you feel like you're part of his family. I met a lot of very cool people there who made my stay amazing. Whenever you need any help, there is someone available. Also, through Adolfo, I got into contact with a salsa teacher who is a professional dancer and taught me super well! Compared to teachers in Salsa schools around Cali it was a lot cheaper as well. If you guys plan on going to Cali and if you fancy learning Salsa, this Hostel Encuentro is the one to go to. Like everywhere in Cali, the owners make you feel so welcomed and comfortable. The breakfast is great and the view is spectacular. The rooms are nice and everything was perfect. It is not the cheapest place but it is also quite exceptional so that makes sense.

I have booked a night in this hostel and stayed 10 days! Such a nice atmosphere, couldn’t leave. Thank you Adolfo, he made my stay like home. Here you will never fill alone, always you will be surrounded with great people and lovely staff:) I definitely would recommend this place to stay for any term.

Having travelled 4 months over Colombia this hostel left a lasting impression. Adolfo the owner and all the staff are the sweetest and most attentive, always making sure all is well and super clean. The inc breakfast is delicious and they always prepare something different and tasty daily. El Encuentro is a grand family!

Good localisation in san antonio, neer to restaurants. Nice staff. The owner is always ready to help. I’ve been in dorm and in private room, both were good. Perfect shower with hot water, nice terrase, different breakfast every morning. Would go again if I go back to Cali.

I spent two whole weeks in this hostel and that speaks for itself! It has a cozy, familiar furniture, is always clean, the personal is lovely and helpful, they are doing breakfast everyday fresh and different and it's also a good place to have some Salsa-classes. The owner is always there and cares for the guests which is really sweet. All in all it felt like home! Thank you for everything!

The hostal Encuentro was bij far the best place is stayed in in south america. The owner, Adolfo, is a very nice person who will connect you to all the other guests at the hostal. I met some great people there and had a very pleasant and safe stay at Adolfo's place.

Hostal Encuentro is a fantastic place to stay in Cali. The location is perfect, the terrace is amazing and the hosts are some of the nicest people I have ever met in my life. The rooms and laundry service were also very good. Overall a fantastic stay!
