We and our families have been clients for a long time. tiempo. Because of its prices, Because of its prices, its wonderful food, its customer services and the friendliness of its employers, we consider this hotel the best in
I spent a week, the service was very good and our stay was so relaxing. Everything was excellent, location, food, and service. Pleasing location, close to the good restaurants and nightlife. The staff is great and helpful.
our stay here started about 3 days before we actually arrived with an email stating that our suite we had booked was actually not available any longer. Fine, annoying but the room we got was going to save us some money so, fine. Arrived late at night and the front desk person did not speak very understandable Spanish for two people who are not native speakers but know a lot of Spanish. Our "best room other than the suite" was not nice. It was plain and worn out with no notable 5 star amenities (or even 3 star for that matter). Thankfully we were only there a couple of nights. The outside terrace bar area is the best part of the hotel due to its ambiance but it could use some more options as the drinks were limited.
I’m very disappointed with this hotel. First of all it is three times the price of other hotels I’ve stayed at in Cali, about $160, other five stars are $60 except for the Marriott where I should have stayed which is $200. At this rate you’d expect it to be nice ! I’m at breakfast and I’m at a loss. There is no espresso coffee at this hotel! Wow! I travel for a living and never had this issue anywhere else in the WORLD. Plus I hate those breakfasts where you need to order from a menu. I love buffets and wish I had known it wasn’t like that. And it’s not because of Covid as other hotels in Colombia have amazing buffets ! But no espresso? This is unheard of. My room was fine but the jacuzzi tub isn’t working, the bed is small, I mean who puts double beds in hotels these days? I’m very disappointed and will not be back. Too bad.…
I am a birding leader and brought a group for the first night of the tour. All participants arrived from abroad. Reservations were paid and confirmed many days ahead of date. Upon arrival, the reception staff was absolutely useless. They did not find the surname of some clients and had them wait from 30 minutes to ONE HOUR AND A HALF. Furthermore, they admitted it was their mistake of their reservation department but denied to give the rooms to the clients anyway. Once the surnames were uploaded in the system, then it took about 25 minutes to check-in. What a nightmare! They have had the clients waiting for long (some have been on a long journey from abroad) and now they wanted phone numbers, emails, etc. I just blew up and asked why not give the keys and end the formality later! I asked for the manager and they said he wasn't there. I actually wonder if there is someone there who really knows about hotel management. Terrible service. They make you feel unwelcome. Furthermore, the internet service is a joke: slowly and breaks at all time. I complained and nothing was resolved. This well before spending your money in a place where you won't be welcome.…
I had a very pleasant stay in this hotel in March’2021. I am shocked that it is not listed as No 1 hotel of Cali. Before arriving in Cali, I spent good 3 hours ( yes..true story!) reading reviews of various hotels in Cali – on Trip advisor, google.com and hotels.com. After reading many reviews, I concluded this was the best option on the present day. I am pleased to inform, my decision was correct! Positives 1. Very friendly and helpful front desk. They were very good to me throughout my 4 day stay. I have no words to express my gratitude. However, while checking out, the girl who checked me in ( also checked me out) looked a bit hostile. I am not sure, what I did to invite her fury. I really like that they offer seats to sit down while checking in and checking out, something very rarely seen in any hotel anywhere in the world. 2. Extremely comfortable room - The bed was awesome. Very good mattress and clean looking room. 3. Lot of plug points near the bed. This is such an important issue and very overlooked by hotels. Such was not the case by this hotel. 4. Great hot water and great water pressure – The water pressure was very pleasant and the water was adequately hot to let me enjoy the shower. 5. The toilet had a water pipe to wash yourself – This is one of my pet gripes. So many hotels only provide toilet paper but no water to clean one self. Such is not the case with this hotel as it provides a water faucet with pipe to clean one self. 6. Excellent Breakfast – I have stayed in about 10 hotels in 2021 itself. This hotel has the best breakfast. Not using COVID, to give a substandard breakfast. Has a full menu breakfast and catering to every taste, whims. 7. Excellent Housekeeping/daily - I have stayed in about 10 hotels in 2021 itself. This hotel has the best housekeeping. Not using COVID to stop housekeeping services. Bedsheets and towels changed daily. Room cleaned daily like old times. 8. Excellent Location – This hotel is close ( 5 minute walk) to a shopping mall. This hotel is close to a Juan Valdez café ( 5 minute walk) . This hotel is located in a zone with least noise from traffic from the street so one can sleep peacefully the whole day long. 9. Excellent Restaurant – I had all my meals ( I stayed for 4 days) at the restaurant, of this hotel. Obviously, the food was excellent for me to do so. I was on a business trip. I had no interest in searching new restaurants when the food itself was so good at the restaurant of the hotel. Especially, the “carne” dishes. I also saw many locals coming here to eat meals – breakfast, lunch, dinner. Also, the restaurant had different waitresses for different times of the day. I found the waitresses extremely sweet, very kind and extremely professional. Really liked them. 10/10 to all waitresses. 10. The AC works very well and one can actually control the room temperature with the remote. 11. I never checked out the gym so have no idea. Negatives 1. The hotel does not provide complimentary water bottles. When I arrived, they said I must buy the water bottles at the restaurant of the hotel or go to the mall to buy it. When I went to buy it at the restaurant, I found the restaurant had no water bottles. Which restaurant/hotel in the world has no water bottles? Later, they did arrange me the water bottles but charged me 5 usd for each 300 ml bottle which probably cost 25 cents in wholesale market, that is, 2000% mark-up on the original price. I plead to the owner, to increase the rent price of the rooms but provide complimentary water bottles daily for each room. 2. The internet was patchy. Mostly it worked well such that one could watch youtube and Netflix, but at times it did not work at all. 3. The drain of wash basin and the shower seemed chocked. I recommend to call the plumber and clear drains of each and every room. 4. The safe deposit box of the room was out of order. They tried very hard to repair it, but to no avail. Overall, I am extremely impressed with this hotel. I have stayed here before, 20 years ago in year 2001 and it continues to impress me 20 years later. Do not believe the negative reviews below. I highly recommend this hotel. This will be my first choice for my next stay at Cali. Hope you find my review, helpful? The hotel is excellent in many ways. It is comfortable, tastefully made, the rooms are spacious, clean and bright. The staff is friendly and always available to help (many thanks to the smiling lady who cleaned our room, to Federick from the reception, to the restaurant staff for an excellent breakfast and to Mrs. Evans who made our stay possible and up-graded our room). The weather in Cali is wonderful and this kind of hotel helped me and my husband to feel very good and enjoy all the comfort.
Due to my flight schedule from the U.S. I advised the hotel that I'd be arriving at 10 pm. They were staffed and waiting for me. It was an easy check-in. The porter was very pleasant. He took my luggage up to the room, pointed out the minibar, A/C operation/remote, and explained how the TV remote (lots of options, buttons and turning it on was different). My room on the 2nd or 3rd floor across from the elevator was very quiet. It was quite nice, spacious, clean, and the bed was extremely comfortable. The bathroom was generously sized and well appointed. The desk was large and had a USB outlet which I needed. There also was a USB outlet in each of the bedside lamp bases. All the USB outlets were worn out and worked only when your phone/watch/laptop was plugged in just right with the cord leaning in a particular position usually against something to keep it in place. The breakfast was cooked to order with good coffee and a bread, pastry and fruit buffet to compliment it. Some of the breakfast staff spoke a little English, just enough to order a meal and receive good service. The hotel doesn't exchange money but you can get Colombian pesos at the "cambio" (currency exchange) 3 blocks from the hotel. Note that the hotel is on a steep street. Many streets in Cali are steep and also one-way. If you have a bad knee, any trouble walking, etc., you may want to take a taxi or stay at a different location. The hotel hotel is walking distance to several sites - the famous church, the cats of the river (an interesting art installation), etc. Nearly everywhere you walk you'll see street art - murals on buildings and walls. If you want to see 26 meter tall Cristo Rey (Christ the King), take a taxi. It's too far to walk and very steep.…
Hotel location is very good. Front desk exceptional. Room cleanliness and size of room excellent. Food was good. We had six meals in two days. Dining room service was fair at best and otherwise poor. Total indifference. With very few customers staff "hid" in the kitchen. "Con mucho gusto" was a trained phrase, certainly not a sincere expression.
This was my first stay at this property. I loved the hotel and its location. Quaint restaurants nearby, a mall within walking distance and a very nice neighborhood. The Staff was outstanding. I am bad with names, but I believe it is Alberto, at the bell stand. This guy is a gem. He was very knowlegable about the area, what to do and where to go. He was extremely helpful. The front desk staff and outside bar area, what can I say. Exceptional. My room was gorgeous, well maintained and friendly housekeeping staff. I am in Cali at least twice a year and have found a new gem. Thanks for all
