The Colombian Home Hostal is a very nice place close to the 'Parque del Perro' in the south west of Calí. This zone is calm and safe, at night, you will find many Colombians going out at the 'Parque del Perro'. In close vicinity, there is a delicious local restaurant (El Quijote), two supermarkets and several bars. The rooms are... More

I called this place home for about three months. The hostel is really well situated in the barrio of San Fernando. All your needs are within walking distance: Parque del Perro with its bars and restaurants is only a few blocks away as are two supermarkets. Two nightclubs, Mazao and Tin Tin Deo, as well are within walking distance. The... More

We are travelling around South America as a late twenties/early thirties couple and we stayed in Colombian Home Hostel in a 4 bed dorm for 2 nights. We were recommended this hostel by a friend who enjoyed the free salsa class and nights out to salsa clubs with the hostel. We did this too and it was great fun. Mauricio... More

Probably the best hostel (been to 50+) I've been to in regards to meeting people and having a good time. Expect a salsa lesson, meet friends, and have a wonderful time in an amazing city. My last time in Cali wasn't that great, but the second time I stayed here and it made all the difference. Great staff too, you... More

Great hostel to stay at in Cali, located right near Parque Perro. Rooms are comfortable, and quiet for a good sleep. Do take the salsa class, and go to the salsa clubs the staff recomends, the dancing is unreal. They had an awesome BBQ after the salsa lesson when I was there which I think they do periodically. Mauricio, and... More

Very very nice place to stay a few nights. The owners are super friendly and are puting a lot of effort in making your stay one not to forget. If they are up for it (and I think most of the times they are) they organize bbq's, give free salsa lessons for starters and join you to the clubs for... More

OK, so the thing about the rules is true. The owners can be quite extravagant with the rules that they impose to the travellers, however, don't be scared by that as there is a reason why this is the top rated hostel in Cali. Mauricio is a great host, always there to help and taking us to the salsa clubs.... More

“I was in the room off of the living room and it was a tad noisy but I enjoyed being around fellow travelers. If you want more private space, ask for a room upstairs or in the back.”

“The 5-bed dorm has a private bathroom with closet space for all beds, locks included. It's also one of the two rooms not on the street (which is quiet, but it's still nice).”

“I stayed in the room near the front door which others have complained about. I have no complaints (and I'm a light sleeper) therefore, I have no advice to others - I was never disturbed (even in the "supposedly" worst room)”
