Absolutely loved it, they were kind enough to let us checkin early, fed us a generous and delicious breakfast. Daniela was a true blessing and helpful in every way with genuine heart and care for the people. Everyone was so kind, the cold showers (hot downstairs if needed) were divine. Awesome bar upstairs, uncle was able to play music in the morning, felt like home, slept amazing, if you’re in Bucaramanga, please come here!

I spent two nights at this hostal last April-2019.It is a lovely, friendly place to stay. When I arrived-from Barichara-check-in was handled speedily and I was shown to my room. The room was small but more than adequate for my needs. It was clean and fan-cooled.Breakfast was served each morning in the common area. What really makes this a great place to stay is the staff.I was given all the help I needed to book onward accommodation in Colombia by several staff members. The staff were friendly, helpful and always ready to assist. In this regard I would like to thank Emer,Oscar,Carlos,Carlos G.,Joanna and Sandra-not forgetting Til,a part-timer from Germany....I can recommend this hostal most highly and I am happy to give it 10 out of 10.

We stayed here on our way to Barichara and again on our way to Medellin. It's a basic hostel which offers dorms and private rooms with private bath. Breakfast of eggs, toast, jam, fruit, and coffee/tea was included. We stayed in a private room with an ensuite. Ensure you ask for a room with hot water.  There is a rooftop bar which is open to the public and locals do drop by to practice their English. They offer a vegetarian menu and the chickpea burger was delicious!  WIFI was a bit sketchy on our last night.  We loved the staff here as they were eager and happy to assist. Oscar helped us with our Spanish and gave us recommendations on how best to get to Barichara. Overall a good hostel with great staff.

This place is not a place to rest, it's a club where loud music, screaming, noise of all types go on all night long, without stop. Actually as the night progresses the noise and the sound of the music increase. I cannot explain how an accommodation place is just a false pretense to set up a club for anyone to attend. Despicable business practice. I payed for a private room only to be kept awake by noise and to find out that there is only cold water in the shower. In a reply to someone complaining about the cold shower in the private room, the manager said that now all rooms have hot water. It's a lie, as you may see fromthe attached picture. Also the wifi is extremely slow and it keeps going off. If you want to party and not sleep at night, come to attend this club. If you are looking to rest, you better stay away.

Response from KasaGuane, Owner at Hostel Kasa Guane
Responded May 30, 2018
Hello antoniodA8112SS, Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review and we would like to offer our apologies if your stay with us did not meet your expectations. The comfort of all our guests is of paramount importance to us and we apologise if the noise levels were too high when you stayed. We are a hostel and in no way promote or run our business as a night club, we do have a social area and have activities such a salsa classes, pub quiz and movie nights through the week. At the weekend we have music or DJ's playing (music until 12:30 latest) and as with every hostel there are always guests that want to socialise and those that prefer silence. Again we apologise if on this occasion you feel that we got that balance wrong. In terms of the comments that you make about hot water - all of our rooms do not have hot water and there may have been a miscommunication due to language issues (we do have one member of the reception staff who is still perfecting his English speaking). While our more economical private rooms don't have hot water there is a communal shower with hot water for all guests to use. We would never want to intentionally lie or mislead any of our guests as you state. We can assure you and all our other guests that we will always try and make your stay as comfortable as possible. We hope you accept our apologies and enjoyed the rest of your trip in Colombia, Kind regards, Team Kasa Guane

I came here for the rooftop bar anniversary party. The atmosphere is not SUPER TOXIC like the one in Q adra P lay area in LA CABECERA ...Plus, the prices are affordable. If you are coming to this hostel to rest , it is a no brainer...
