The Hampton Inn Barranquilla exceeded our expectations. We are Hilton Honor members and stay all over the world with Hilton. This hotel wow us, their customer service, friendliness and attention to detail was outstanding. We forgot an important prescription and they send us an e-mail immediately. They keep it refrigerated for us until the next day and gave it to the driver with everything we forgot. We would definitely stay again when in Barranquilla. A special recognition to Sergio and the manager. They were both super friendly and helpful and just full of good advice and helped us in everything we needed.

Very warm welcome and excellent location. The people that work at this hotel were very happy to assist whenever I had any issue as small as figuring out the air condition to giving local recommendations for restaurants or places to visit. Being in the heart of the city lots of activities and very convenient to access the airport.

The team was very helpful. The front desk in Barranquilla was great. I had a flight out of Cartegena. I was turned away from the airport because I didn't have the proper paperwork to enter the United States. I went to the Hampton Inn Cartagena and they printed the documents out for me even though I didn't stay in Cartagena.

The rates for this hotel were more than tripled due to the Carnaval event. We enjoyed the live music in the lobby during breakfast although it was a bit loud and crowded. King bed room was not very large and gym does not have much equipment. However, it was pretty easy to get taxis at this location and is within walking distance of a nice mall and many restaurants.

Overall really low quality of:
1. Food: B-fast, present big deficiencies on quality, quantity, and the more important, the taste. Restaurant service, needs a lot improve; recommend the soup and fish dish. Forget the room service, they don't offer that!
2. Amenities: Gym, ok but no music sometimes and only one tv channel, may you carry on your own cup to get some water from the fountain. jacuzzi area, small; get ready to be a bus boy; people leftovers and either hotel's personal to do so.
3. Hygiene products, nightmares, no bad products but you need be a Hunter, really short quantity.
4. Coffeemaker/room: WOW. How can be possible that in Colombia, they just offer instant coffee? And either a good quality... disappointed. Good that you have a Juan Valdez coffee store at the corner.
5. Hotel location is ok: But the entrance is shared with a next to medical building; yeap, web picture is not right. To crowded to move in and out. Hotel had a commercial stores/shopping center.
6. Short of employees, and they don't bilinguals.
7. Towels, perhaps they need change the laundry machine or soap. But bed sheets ok.
8. Comfortable bed and pillows, but be aware that they don't change your sheets, my stayed was 5 days, and guest what...

3 issues. Forced to pay the entire reservation upon check in even though secured by my visa. Unable to check out early and get a partial refund after not being satisfied with hot dogs and lunch meat for breakfast. Check your bedding upon check in, had the maid change the dirty bed spread. Please don't stay here unless you want to damage your brain, never in my life have I been refused lodging because my booking was for 4 nights, but I had enough foreign currency to cover 2 nights with plans of going to change more dollars to peso to cover for the 2 remaining days as soon as I put my luggage in my room.
I have filled a complaint with Hilton because they told me they have they own rules and not obligated to abide by Hilton or Hampton rules although they are operating under the American hotel license.
I also filled a complaint with Hotel.com as I booked the room on their site.
