We drove to the Hotel from Shenyang City in May 2012.
I am Birtish, but have lived in China for two years and understand most customs and do not expect a replica of American or European service and feel at home with the Chinese way of life.
My wife is Chinese ,we have a 2 year old and the couple we were with are also Chinese with their 4 year old daughter.
We picked this Hotel for both its location to Discovery Land (Its owned by them) and the beach. It is ideal just a very short walk to both. The bonus been you get 2 day unlimited passes to Discovery Land. A two to three day stay in Dalian is just right!
On arrival there seemed to be a queue at reception, the staff appeared hot and bothered and it took about an hour to book in with two couples infront of us.
The rooms in the Hotel are themed, Chinese, Western and Japanese. Now the Chinese like to try different things and our friends picked the Japanese style room. You can seen on the photos it appears devoid of...

“Only choose a western room if your from the West. They generally overlook the Courtyard. A japanese style room is for the very adventurous.”
