Good hotel and very good location. Like usually, Shangrila hotel have a good service and well trained staff. This hotel was a bit old fashioned and my room have wall to wall carpet what i personally dislike. Breakfas were very good. Big selection of Chinese and western style food and real coffee! I was happy to stay in Shangrila hotel, only hotel room carpet was disturbing.
The hotel was well located in the city close all the famous visiting points and restaurants. Inside was clean and well decorated. It provided a decent breakfast which was included. It seemed a very busy hotel with lot of checkin and checkout.
This is my second visit to Changchun this month. I encountered extreme weather conditions, which seemed to be the biggest snowfall this year, and the traffic was paralyzed. Thanks to Daniel Lu's thoughtful arrangement, he provided me with many good suggestions for my trip here, which made my stay in Changchun very well.
Stayed at the club room with access to the Horizon Club Lounge. Had family members come over to visit and the staff were very accommodating to all of us. Thanks to the entire club lounge staff, both front and kitchen, for the work they put in. A special thanks to: -Sofia/Sunny Zhang for being extra attentive to both my children. A special -Lindy Liu for helping to handle the error regarding my wife’s hotel membership account
I stayed this hotel for the business purpose. Location wise it’s perfect. Short walk to Starbucks, Walmart and shopping mall. Hotel has fitness club and swimming pool, inside changing room has Jacuzzi and sauna. Horizon club lounge has their own small buffet for morning and evening- not much selection but good service. Club receptionist can speak English so it’s was really big help. Room is clean and spacious no complain about it. Hotel restaurants are not so recommendable. Buffet in the first floor is always very busy. Many Chinese food but very small amount of western food. They have one kind of pizza, pasta and French fries. Limited salad choice. But they have bread corner which was good.
Shangri La is a 5 star hotel located downtown Changchun (in an otherwise unimpressive town). It is very well situated and has a nice spa area. The rooms are large and very comfortable. The buffet is rich but leaning towards oriental cuisine with only pizza as western flavor. Overall a good choice for the business traveler.
This is a great place to have events. The staff are professional and are extremely flexible. Here you’re sure that the staff always goes the extra mile to make sure that you’re feeling comfortable. The best place to be in Changchun.
We enjoyed our stay there at The Horizon Club. Shangri-la always set certain high standards in their culture. Service was always very good and unobtrusive. The Club gives good choices and one of the largest Happy Hour (5:30 - 7:30pm) food choices that we've seen when compared to other hotel chains' club floors. One can just have dinner there, without venturing out if you're tired after a long day. Having said that, it would have been even better if the variety changes daily at the hot food section. It struck us that the mains were quite the same every evening. (roast ham, German sausages, roast chicken), char siew paus in the dim sum baskets, deep fried spring rolls, same hot pudding dessert/brulee (?)...same 3 varieties of cheeses.. After staying there for 5 nights it kinda gets same-same ...the red & white wine choices could be of better quality and again, it would real nice if the wines are changed every night or so, instead of always the same for 5 days! Noticed the white wine was served unchilled at least in the 2 evenings we were there so we avoided the white. At breakfast at the Horizon Club, hot food is cooked to order fr a small but perfectly adequate menu We were impressed that even though the Horizon Club was fairly quiet, the food was still displayed abundantly every morning & evening. The breakfast buffet at the coffee house on the ground floor is truly impressive with such abundant choices! One of the biggest and best breakfast buffets we have seen anywhere! Chinese, Western, Japanese... Food was good! However it would be even better if the food available is always kept warm/hot even for late breakfasters who roll in around 10 am... We found each time that the food was either dried up (as there was no more topping up due to the lateness) or just gone cold... people could be eating for longer breakfast periods, or having meetings/discussion/waiting for guests etc so hot food should be kept hot. The room on the Club Floor was very comfortable, and we slept very well on the bed. Toiletries there were from L'occitane. Nice flufly towels, and housekeeping very efficient! We get 4 bottles of water every day. We enjoyed our stay there and would definitely recommend this hotel.…
The Shangri-La is more or less the eldest luxury hotel in Changchun and has been a meeting place for many business travelers to this city in the past. Meanwhile there is a bunch of other high end hotels in Changchun, but Shangri-La still profits from a great central location with shopping malls and good Chinese restaurants around and has meanwhile upgraded most (all?) of the rooms to modern standards. We stayed there for business a couple of weeks until June 2018. The restaurant and breakfast buffets are great - though sometimes a little overcrowded by tourists - and the staff is generally polite and attentive. Why three stars only? Because all said above is the optimum - it might be worse, if you come on the wrong day or meet the wrong staff. In that case you need to complain, ask for the manager, insist on the promises made before... often struggling for the high standards you may be used to from a Shangri-La hotel elsewhere.…
The hotel is in good location, close to everything. However, the hotel is a bit aged and really need renovation. Limited choice in the breakfast. Having said that, the services were great and their staff were very helpful.
