Good for walkers
Places to stay are graded on a 0-100 scale. The higher the grade, the easier it is for travelers to find restaurants and things to do within walking distance.
They have a really good location about a five minute walk from Chayuanchang station and very central to all the sights in Suzhou. The price is also very fair and we were very happy with our stay.
The room was comfy and the bathroom was great but the rooms stayed a little warm for us and there were no windows to release the heat. The staff were very friendly, helpful and always grabbed an elevator for us when we came back to the hotel.
The hallways were well lit in an open courtyard style and there were features of the hotel which were very quirky like a spaceship themed elevator and a "French" restaurant. The breakfast was pretty good and we had the privilege of trying the set menu and the buffet. The set menu was huge and very filling. When we arrived we also got a complimentary Margherita pizza at their hotel bar (Soul Bar).

This is a lovely hotel. Friendly staff that speak good English. The hotel is nicely decorated and it is great value for money. It is a short walk from the metro. Only 2 stops away from the train station so very easy to get to. It’s also a short walk from some of the local attractions. The room was nice but not soundproof and this is the only reason I haven’t noted the hotel as ‘excellent’. Very good buffet breakfast. European and Chinese options. Eggs are freshly cooked as you like. WiFi is available throughout the hotel and the rooms have cable tv. Even the toilet seat is heated!

Located right at the historic pedestrian street. Easy access to metro, 2 stops away from the suzhou railway station. The staff are very attentive and courteous, especially the front desk staff. Rooms are quiet and large. We initially stayed at a family with kids room, which is really cute however not suitable for older kids so we moved to a room for 4. Highly recommend for visiting suzhou.

The location is great, and you are just a few minutes' walk from the pedestrian mall and the Charyuanchang metro station along line 4, which is also two stops from the main Suzhou railway station.
There are several eateries and shopping options nearby, or you can walk 30 minutes to the old Ping Jiang pedestrian walk next to the river.
The room was rather large, but also a little on the basic side. Our room on the 4th floor - in fact, the entire floor near the lift lobby - smelt of cigarette smoke, almost like a pub. Perhaps the fact that we were over the hotel's pub/nightclub was a factor.
The twin beds were comfortable, and there were ample power points, as well as a medium sized safe. The bathroom was an okay size, and water pressure was good. Wifi was rather bad, and we had some difficulty getting into the various apps. Some of the furniture needed repairs, such as the cupboard door to the safe deposit box.
Breakfast was pretty good, with a live noodle and wonton station, as well as a good array of options.

The room was big and comfy. Definitely worth the price. Wife was very cold so hotel staffs arrange a heater in the room for us. We didn’t have a China number so Hotel staff Vicent, Peter and Tracy even helped to reserve us a visit to the Suzhou Museum. Really good service!

This is an excellent choice for a hotel in Suzhou because of the strategic location . Also the hotel provides shuttle service from the railway station and also to the administrators garden. The staff were extremely helpful and nice and attentive to our needs. The room that we've booked to stay for 2 nights 3 persons was also very spacious and clean.

This hotel is very well managed: 1. The staff are very courteous and helpful. 2. The staff follows up with all enquires. 3. The rooms are clean. 4. The breakfast spread is value for money. The services it provided us were much better than many of the more expensive n higher stars hotels in the country.

Not knowing what to expect, was pleasantly surprised to find a nice and cosy hotel right next to pedestrian walk.
Pro: - close to shops and eating places - large and clean room - quiet and comfortable beds - good shower with strong water strength - cheerful and helpful staff
Note: despite being close to winter we find the room rather hot and the staff even managed to arrange for a fan to be brought to our room. Really appreciate this.
The hotel has quirky designs for their lifts in the hotels and even a vending machine for snacks and drink within the hotel.
Breakfast was good too.
They provide airport shuttle and pickup. I did not know about this in advance and would have requested for it.
No real negatives I have for this hotel as for the money paid, I find Hotel soul top choice.
