We just came back from amazing 7 days at Sofitel Leeman Resort. Once you arrive there you know you made the right choice. Building, park, swimming pools, rooms and all facilities are really stunning. The best of course are it’s people. Too many to name all here, special thanks to Laifong, Jimo, Chef Kevin and his team, Zora and her colleagues in the Club Lounge. Food is fantastic - we enjoyed the most delicious Chinese and Thai dishes, and there are many more options! The atmosphere is unique. We will for sure come back again! If you are looking for a place to stay in Sanya - you found it!
I rented 3 rooms all with access to the Mellesime club access for 6 days. The truth is I would rate this hotel at 4star if not for the club, the club experience made it a 5 star. First the Bad #1 - I have two small children and the primary reason for choosing this hotel was the children’s water play area. This was complete disappointment. Very run down, dirty, most of the items were not working or off the entire 6 days. It will take a complete renovation to bring this back to any resemblance of the photos shown on the website, this made me quite angry and is 100% fake advertising. Also stupid things like the one slide that was working had no shade leading to it, the metal steps are painted black, can you imagine the screams from my 2 year old when he stepped on the metal steps, they burnt his feet. Come on, get a brain! #2 – Check-in was a joke, I was told as part of the club access we would enjoy special check-in area, drink, and what I thought would be a nice experience, wrong! The check-in process not in a special area, was hot and took a long time and only 1 of the 3 rooms was ready, they put our nanny and daughter in a room with someone else’s luggage, then moved to another room later, not a good experience. My room was available at 3:30pm, so I was not happy about that. The third room was available at 4pm and they did upgrade the room as an apology. We were told by upgrading to club access we would enjoy the check-in process and also able to check-in early, NOT and NOT. OK – Now for the Good, and it is too much to list. #1 – The rooms and housekeeping were excellent, with children we make a big mess in the rooms and they did a wonderful job organizing our clutter and keeping the room extremely clean, thank you for that. #2 – The hotel is beautiful and the staff were fantastic, always friendly. #3 – The grounds, the pools, the beach, flowers, everything was lovely, really well taken care of, fantastic! It is a great idea to have the box of sand play toys in the sandy area near the pool bar, my son loved this. He could not play in the swimming area but he loved the toys and sand, he played in this area for hours each day. #4 – The children’s indoor play area, fantastic! #5 – Restaurants, snacks, drinks, bar area, Great! #6 – The pool swim up bar. We are pool people and spend our days in this area, the staff was fantastic, bring us lots of drinks, arranging food, lots of ice to keep our drinks cold, very happy and friendly, thanks for your efforts, you were great! #7 – The club – Zora and Candice were amazing! We also met Leo, Carson, Elaine and May how were also great. We like drinks of all kinds and Zora made sure we always had something nice to try with a mix of cocktails all made fresh just for us. We did breakfast in the club, wife and children did the afternoon tea and we all met for the evening cocktails, really fantastic. The staff makes this area special, without the smiling and happy faces it would be just another club. I demand that all the people I just listed get a 50% pay increase (just joking, but they deserve it and they were so nice). Conclusion and summary Would I go back to this hotel with Children? NO, or not until they show they fixed the problems in the children’s water area. If this is fixed I would be back next month. Would I go back to this hotel without Children? Absolutely (if Zora and Candice are still working here). It is a lovely place for relaxing at the pool, good dinner and drinks with a nice beach for long walks.…
What an overall amazing experience. Pierre helped to make me comfortable upon arrival, David (chef) helped to set up a dinner on the beach and Fiora in the Thai restaurant made sure we were well looked after. 5 star 🌟ratings come from service and at the Sofitel in Sanya, they are amazing. Always a pleasure, never a chore. They really don't miss a beat. Must go to!
We booked a room with inclusive access to Club Millesime. It was so worth it! A special mention to Carson and Zora. Thank you so much for looking after us during our stay (especially during happy hour: 5pm - 7pm). The resort is very popular with families and hence the Club access was a welcome escape. The gardens, and resort grounds, are very well maintained and although the boardwalks through the foreshore is in varying states of repair, it is a great place to walk in the shade during the heat of the day.
The choice of Sofitel as our resort hotel in Sanya is very correct.Facilities is good, sea view is wonderful, the most satisfying part is the service of the hotel staff, particularly Zora in the Club lounge who is very friendly and attentive, introducing the dishes to me everyday and remembering my preferences. It is also fun to chat with her. We had a perfect holiday in the Sofitel. We will choose Sofitel and hope to see Zora again if come to Sanya next time.
